  1. If you look at such translation tools such as SikhiToTheMax, kaam is often translated to mean sexual desire. See the tuk from the shabad as an example. kaam karodhh nagar bahu bhariaa mil saadhhoo kha(n)ddal kha(n)ddaa hae || The body-village is filled to overflowing with anger and sexual desire; these were broken into bits when I met with the Holy Saint. I think it is difficult, especially at certain ages as sexual desire is high and this is normal and natural I'm guessing. Sexual desire is needed for procreation and life to continue etc etc. However, in Sikhi we should try to master our minds and learn to control kaam, krodh, lobh, moh & hankaar rather than letting them control us. So, in answer to your question, I think yes, it is kaami. It is hard but all we can do is beg from Vaheguru to help us to control the kaam, krodh, lobh, moh & hankaar.
  2. Beautiful Name :D Maharaj kirpa karey and let her always Jap Naam
  3. My cousin is similar to you in that he still ties patka and has very long heavy hair so joora is very big... I tied a bunga on him before tying a gol dastaar one time and it looked :D Trust me, a bunga will sort out any jora size problems. My hair size/weight etc is 'normal' but after I tied a bunga underneath dastaar once, I've never tied dastaar again without it. Makes it feel a lot more secure and gives a nice smooth round top to your dastaar as well :D
  4. Coool... That sorta makes sense. Everyone I know normally takes some time to think over a name after Hukamnama has been taken and go back to let them know of name. Your way sounds nice too... if you got some time now may as well think of some baby names hunna T names are quite hard actually hunna... :umm: Taran ?
  5. _AKAAALLLLLLL_ - beadbi of kesh is one of the bujjar kurreits. This means you have to go pesh in front of Panj Pyares... This is told to you during Amrit Sanchar.
  6. Phenji... Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh! Living Sikhi is not an easy task, Maharaj themselves say the true path is sharper than the edge of a sword and finer than a strand of hair. But with Vaheguru's kirpa it is perfectly possible to achieve. It appears in a moment of madness, you committed a bujjar kureit so you will have to go pesh in front of panj pyares ASAP. Do not think though that you have 'broken' your Amrit and 'give up' but instead learn from this and help it make you stronger. Can see the pyaar you have for Guru Jee and Sikhi from your post and its amazing and its that pyaar you have, that will carry you across this life ocean. About facial hair, I feel there is a big difference between 'beauty' and 'perfection'. Western society has this ideal of what a perfect person should look like but beauty is something completely different. Good story about that here actually (The most beautiful heart) But think about it, Maharajiya da Maharaj, Sri Guru Guru Gobind Singh Jee dee kuree hovay, Dastaar naleh Sri Sahib Sajee hoya, Khalsa Roop hovay... Nothing can be more beautiful. :BL:
  7. Congratulations!!!! :D And as Matheen asked - how comes you looking at names starting with T before taking the Hukamnama :6

    Turban To Work?

Just start tying it and there you go. Will create a fantastic opportunity for you to let your work colleagues know more about the beauty of Sikhi - They'll probably come ask you more about it :D So if you don't know, read up a little about the dastaar, Kesh and Sikhi in case they ask you about it. Great way of learning for them and you Good Luck and remember Vaheguru is always with you so nothing to be nervous about

  10. No need for a plugin for this really... Depends on your theme, but you will have either a home.php or index.php file in your theme folder... Find the date call in the loop... Should look something like <?php the_date(); ?> and remove... Simple as
  11. Don't know if this helps or not... never cut my kesh myself but when my dhari first started growing, it did get VERY irritating & itchy for a while. Then magically just stopped :D Maybe its just something to do with body/face getting used to it

  13. SikhRoots - that would be great... I use Gurbani Anywhere for the iPhone and its amazing... with some of its features like its fast speed, live search, ability to go next shabad (useful when Pauree comes in Hukamnama etc), it would be great to see it come to the PC, would make finding shabads/hukamnama much easier in Divaans. Gurbani Anywhere sevadar - are you planning anything like that? Or are SikhiToTheMax planning updates?
