  1. Satsriakal to all and mann_kaum_layee_qurbaan Ji! You wrote "In addition to including baani from their own divine mouths sent to them from God they also preserved the sacred baani of other great bhagats who were one with akaal." Does this show that other great Bhagats whose Baanee is sung, spoken and written and preserved by our Gurus in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji are also our Gurus? ms514 Ji! Thanks for your stories. Please provide the original source of those also. You wrote about great Bhagat's Baanee "It has their approval and it is there because it matches the Sikh thought." I do not feel that Sikhi is a Thought or thought process. I feel that Sikhi is a way of living by doing Simran. You also wrote " . . . that is the reason that the human form of the Gurus is not celebrated (aka. idol worship)." May I ask why we celebrate birthdays of Guru Nanak Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and other Gurus every year separately? Is it not related with their human birth? The original question asked here is "Do all God beings, whose Baanee is included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, become automatically our Gurus?" Would you please answer it with yes or no, with your explanations naturally. Thanks. Balbir Singh
  2. Satsriakal to all and Kandola Ji! You wrote "when we say guru is banee, this is a reference to god himself, remember this word came from god." Baanee from Guru is Guru Ki Baanee. Why it is God's Baanee? Is Baanee from all of us not from God himself? Who else is speaking in us other than Raam? Then you explained "dhur being a reference to bhaghat dhru, whose immovable faith made him to where he was." Dhru is supposed to become a fixed star. Dhru had also immovable faith. How it happened that Baanee, which is movable being a flow, got the name 'Dhur Ki Baanee'? Please elaborate. Your view is "persoanlly, i think those who wrote in SGGS (i.e the bhagats) were not our gurus, because they already had gurus." Are you sure that those, who already had Gurus, are not our Gurus? Was Guru Nanak Ji not the Guru of Bhai Lehna Ji? You mentioned metaphors from Gurbani. I feel metaphors remain till those are revealed. Thanks for your input. Balbir Singh
  3. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all! Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is incorporated with the hymns (Baanee) from many enlightened beings as Kabir Ji, Namdev Ji, Jaidev Ji, Pipa Ji, Sain Ji, Ravidas Ji, Farid Ji and others. For Sikhs Baanee is Guru and Guru is Baanee. Do all God beings, whose Baanee is included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, become automatically our Gurus? Please express your views. Balbir Singh
  4. Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji! It is nice to hear from you. You wrote "Raam is the Sanskriti word for what ramya is in Punjabi." In my view, there is a difference between 'Raam' and 'ramya'. Raamaa dwelling in all is recognized as 'Rama-eeaa'. In your next last sentence you wrote "Raam is implying in that verse that wherever I look, you are residing." We cannot translate 'Raamaa' 'you'. Un till 'you' exists, the other (duality) exists also. Raamaa reveals. Duality disappears. Balbir Singh
  5. Happy Birthday Pheena Ji! How many times have you born? Balbir Singh
  6. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear WGJKKWGJKF Ji! You wrote "So in Gurbani when ever it mentions meditate on Raam etc, its talking about meditate on the formless God (not the Hindu idol Rama)." It is true. But why Hindu idol Rama enters in our mind when we want to meditate on Raam. You also wrote "Sister also notice the spelling differnces aswell in the Hindu God Rama and Raam." Gurbani praises both 'Raam Naam' and 'Raamaa'. "jah jah daykh-a-u tah tah raamaa." SGGS page 873 Wherever I look there is Raamaa. "khin meh binsai sabh jhooth mayray man Dhi-aa-ay raamaa." SGGS page 723 In a moment are forgotten all my lie mind contemplates Raamaa. "mayray man bhaj raam naamai raamaa." SGGS page 799. My mind! Chant Raam's name Raamaa. "raam raamaa raam ramaa kanth ur Dhaaree-ai." SGGS page 925 Incurs 'Raam Raamaa Raam Raamaa' in heart via the throat. "sabhai ghat raam bolai raamaa bolai." SGGS page 988 In all bodies Raam speaks Raamaa speaks. Balbir Singh
  7. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Please share your views about this. All titles from the Guru, for example 'Singh', 'Kaur', 'Khalsa', etc., are placed after the first name. Why other titles like 'Sant', 'Gyani', 'Baba', 'Doctor', etc. are placed before the first name? Balbir Singh
  8. Satsriakal to all and Jasdeep22 Ji! It is surprising that you do not quote Guru's Vaak to support your views. Surely NAAM is the Deeva for all inner and outer worlds, and we should pray to get it lit by the Satguru. But please explain where our Gurus have asked us to reject any kind of Deeva? You wrote "If everyone was to attain God by burning Deevas of clay, then on Diwali in India everyone lights Deevas.........that means everyone shud be able to attain God that day????" Should a person give up eating, drinking and praying or going to Gurudwara because he is waiting to attain God. The wonder and joy of watching Deevas can easily be seen specially in children's eyes. I feel HE is God Himself. Please do not make yourself poorer then God wants you to be. Accepting HIS Hukam is enough. Love. Balbir Singh
  9. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Jasdeep22 Ji! You wrote about lighting up a Deeva (lamp) "It is pure Manmat and . . . this practice can be put to an end." And in this post you wrote "I dont know where I said that Sikhs shud not light any Deevas . . ." Our Gurus never asked us to stop using Deevas in Gurudwaras. Rather the Gurbani says AMDkwr dIpk prgwsy ] "anDhkaar deepak pargaasay." Darkness is lightened by lamp. nwnk Brm moh duK qh qy nwsy ]6] SGGS page 287 "naanak bharam moh dukh tah tay naasay." O Nanak, doubt, attachment and pain are destroyed from that." Also dIpk qy dIpku prgwisAw iqRBvx joiq idKweI ]7] deepak tay deepak pargaasi-aa taribhavan jot dikhaa-ee. ||7|| SGGS page 907 From a lamp the lamp is lit. The flame of three worlds is made visible. Strange is that you suggest rejecting Deevas as spiritual symbol. Everything is spiritual as God resides in everything. Gurbani says Awpy dIp loA dIpwhw ] SGGS page 699 "aapay deep lo-a deepaahaa." HE Himself is the lamp, the flame and the illuminator. Also quDu jyvfu Avru n BwilAw ] SGGS page 79 "tuDh jayvad avar na bhaali-aa." I do not realize any other as you are. qUM dIp loA pieAwilAw ] "tooN deep lo-a pa-i-aali-aa." You are lamps (all forms) its flame and residing in. I hope you are not successful in leading people to darkness unconsciously by rejecting God as Deeva. Gurbani also says DUp dIp iGRq swij AwrqI ] SGGS page 695 Dhoop deep gharit saaj aartee. With incense, lamp and ghee decorate Aartee. Jasdeep 22 Ji, please elaborate. How Aartee is performed when our mind is busy throwing lamps out of Gurudwaras? -------------- You also wrote "and as I said, IT IS DESCRIBED IN SIKH REHAT MARYADA THAT LIGHTING DEEVA IS MANMAT. Read the Rehat Maryada PLEASE. This answers it." I have not read 'Sikh Rehat Maryada'. I am still not convinced that it is one of my Gurus. By the way is this the same 'Sikh Rehat Maryada' you have referred here amended by SGPC which you are criticizing in the other thread titled 'Rehat Maryada'? Love to all Balbir Singh
  10. Satsriakal to all and Jasdeep22 Ji! Thanks for the wonderful references from Gurbani. Please let all know which of the Guru's Vaak from your posts is saying "There is No Connection between Gurmat and Lighting up a Deeva as a religious practice." And "It is pure Manmat and we shud try spreading knowledge so that more poeple come to know abt it and this practice can be put to an end." -------------- Perhaps you want to say that you do not know anyone who has reached God by putting a lamp on. So everyone or at least Sikhs should not light a lamp on. Are you sure that one may reach God by rejecting the use of lamps? Please let all know if you have come across a person who got enlightened by rejecting Divas in Gurudwaras. Your answer may be that only by doing Simran one reaches God Consciousness. You may say this is true? Then rejecting a lamp or accepting it play a role anymore? Are we able to instruct God to visit us the way we describe? By the way I have found only praises for Divas in Gurbani. Like the light of a lamp (diva) give us to recognize everything in darkness, O God! Give us Simran. So that we get the light to recognize Waheguru in all activities. To get the inner lamp lit one does not need to blow off the clay lamps in outer worlds. Love. Balbir Singh
  11. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Jasdeep22 Ji! You wrote "There is No Connection between Gurmat and Lighting up a Deeva as a religious practice." And "It is pure Manmat and we shud try spreading knowledge so that more poeple come to know abt it and this practice can be put to an end." Please provide a reference from Gurbani to support your views. I will be thankful. Balbir Singh
  12. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all! All belongs to God. Also, that feels mine. It starts to flow when He wants to share. He has chosen me as His tool not hurdle. You may possess the Truth or pass it on. Please visit the site http://www.saysatsriakal.com And click the topic '38 Pauris of Japuji Sahib'. Love. Balbir Singh
  13. Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji! It is great to read your views. You wrote "Guru Sahib is perfect so the perfect number of pauris was picked to enlighten those living in this world. Gyan comes from contemplation of the Shabad, not counting them." I also feel the same. Thirty-eight is the perfect number of Pauris in Japuji Sahib. Gyan comes from contemplation of the Pauris, not counting them. Our Gurus have never suggested us to count Pauris. I am surprised why some of our preachers ask us to count Japuji Sahib we should do every day. Balbir Singh
  14. Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji! You seem to have big heart for giving titles to others. I hope you do not forget to spare one for you. Please say something about the query. Thanks. Balbir Singh
  15. Satsriakal to all and Moderator Ji! Please do not talk like some parents when they can't answer. Better consult the elders. I do not know why our Gurus have written numbers after each Pauree when only the content was important. Balbir Singh
  16. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear seekers and those who have achieved Truth! I have a question. Why Japuji Sahib has thirty-eight Pauris (stanzas)? Please share your thoughts and knowledge with all. Balbir Singh
  17. Satsriakal to all and Kawaldeep Singh Atwal Ji! You wrote "No, you're not getting the point. I'm saying, if you won;'t question your teacher abt their teachings then why question our Guru Ji about his teachings? This mean you are putting Guru Ji lower than teachers.. get me??" These above are your words and feelings. Our Gurus have suggested all to search God within not in others. -------------- Vicky Singh Ji! You wrote a message in Gurmukhi in your post. I thought you wanted to give a reference. That is why I requested for the page number of the source. I found it is your signature. Unfortunately I have not found it in Gurbani. Balbir Singh
  18. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Vicky Singh Ji and Budda Singh Ji! I asked a question to my mother at a very young age "Why all Sikhs are born with hair?" I found all Sikhs with long hair but others with short hair. The question was spontaneous. Since that time I received many answers verbally. It is the first time that I have asked this question on Internet. To my surprise all answers and explanations I received are not up to the point. As many learned people have access to Internet these days, I hope that constructive discussions may quench the thirst of knowledge in many of us. -------------- Here are few words for all those who are curious and very hungry for the Truth from our Gurus. Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Sikhs five Kakaars. One of these is Kes (hair). The word Kakaar is the combination of Ka plus Kaar. All Kakaars have a name and those names begin with the letter 'ka'. These are namely Kes (hair), Kanghaa (comb), Kachaa or Kachehraa (a garment to wear on the lower part of the body similar to shorts), Karaa (bangle) and Kirpan (sword). There is a purpose or work (kaar) of the five KAs. Hence the names are called Kakaars. Everyone is born with only one Kakaar namely hair. Nobody is born with other four Kakaars. -------------- I am supposed to leave for India soon for few weeks. I feel you have a little patience and much researching capability and hope that you have found the solution before I come back. Please let me know if you cannot wait. Balbir Singh
  19. Satsriakal to all! Kawaldeep Singh Atwal Ji! I have attended many classes of our Gurus. But I never found THEM giving explanations to convince why Sikhs should keep hair. This is another incident that THEY revealed this secret. I feel that Guru and teacher are two different engagements. A teacher cannot entangle the Guru with his worldly learning. The Guru may enlighten a teacher with God's Wisdom. -------------- ms514 Ji! You wrote "Yes, the veiled insults continue...please keep them coming...perhaps you will lighten my own sins." Earning of sins is the matter of every individual person. Only God's Grace and Guru's Prasaad may enlighten you. You wrote further "Then do Paath and become a Sikh. The Guru will reveal directly to you." I just talked to my Gurus who made me A Sikh long back. I didn't have the feeling that they are not happy because I was not doing Paath in their Satsang. Balbir Singh
  20. Satsriakal to all and Khãlsã Ji! This is an earnest request to all on this forum. Please provide the reference with page number of Gurbani when you quote the Gurshabad. I am not able to find your reference in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. Balbir Singh
  21. Satsriakal to all! ms514 JI! The question is not to inquire the unawareness of today's Sikhs. The question is to enhance the awareness of Guru's Wisdom among Sikhs. We all need food when we get hungry. God provides us the food. Do you know someone who has never asked why God gives us hunger too? -------------- Jai Tegang Ji! I feel our Gurus were Kesdharees. They were an example for many. Many Sikhs were keeping hair even at Guru's time. -------------- Charanpreet Singh Ji! You wrote "we can't question him." Are you sure that no Sikh asks him why he keeps hair? You added "hairs also have many advantages." I feel the same. Balbir Singh
  22. Satsriakal to all! This query may interest people of the whole world. God gave hair to all human beings. Why Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Sikhs hair again as one of the five Kakaars? Please express your views. Balbir Singh
  23. Satsriakal to all and ms514Ji! Have you something to say about Aartee?
  24. Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji! Aartee is not going to be stopped because you hate it. God's Aartee is progressing. I, as a Sikh, am highly grateful that God has chosen me as a part of HIS AARTEE. For you I have to say only this. Take care as by thinking, singing or hearing HIS AARTEE, AARTEE is also performed. Balbir Singh
