  1. Thanks. Does anyone have a link to the shabad composed by Bhai Sarabjeet Singh? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  2. GuruFateh! I'm looking for the shabad with the following: 'Sadh Sangat, Ashthan Jagh Magh Noor Ho' This shabad also features at the start of the Baba Deep Singh film. Apologies if there is any mistake in the words above. Thanks to the sangat in advance. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  3. GuruFateh! I'll probably get moaned at for my opinion but here goes. In the times of the Mughals, the followers of Islam did unspeakable acts of a barbaric nature. In my opinion nothing much has changed 300-500 years down the road. There are many muslims in the world today that are committing similar acts. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

    Multiple Sclerosis

Sat Sri Akal! Yes Bhenji, MS sufferers can experience numbness, my mother experiences this on a regular basis. Dukh can be a good thing in the sense that it brings you closer to Waheguru. Many people do not remember God when things are going good in their lives however, when times get bad then they remember God. This can sometimes serve as a wake up call for these people. Multiple Sclerosis

GuruFateh! My mother was diagnosed with MS approx. 10+years ago. For the first few years, she was OK and only noticed minor problems such as feeling tired a lot quicker than normal and not being able to do as much as she could before. But then as the MS progressed, she started using a walking stick and then slowly had to move onto a walking frame to help her walk. Another problem she encountered was that her bladder did not function as well as it should so a few years ago, she had to start self-catheterising herself. At this moment in time, she has no had an operation to have a permanent catheter fitted to a bag so that she does not have to use the bathroom to pass urine as there is a risk of her falling as she is now in a wheelchair. That is the story of what happened to one MS sufferer (my mother) but you should talk to your doctor as there are 3 types of MS and they all act in a different manner. 6. Maybe the Veer has misunderstood what I've said. I bodybuild and am at a considerable size, 6 foot +, 240lbs, 18'' biceps, 46'' chest but I retain that ripped look all year round due to the cardio and also my weight is constant year round. I take protein shakes supplemented with whey protein, creatine capsules and a fat metaboliser in my training programme. I did not criticise these items, what I meant was these are supplements to help you along the way. In order to be fit and healthy (the point of this topic), one must combine bodybuilding with cardio to maintain a fit body from the inside and not just one on the outside. A further analagy is this. Lets get a 2 litre engine car. Take the cars shell off and add a considerably heavier body. Won't the engine struggle to meet the demands that it could have managed before e.g. the acceleration will be a lot less? The same applies to the human heart. You will place it under considerable strain by growing your muscles via bodybuilding unless you do cardio to keep your heart strong. On thes case of Lou Ferrigno. Whats deafness got to do with it? Watch pumping iron and you will definately hear him say to his father that after training, he is gonna go for a 3 mile jog.
  7. I think you will find you are wrong. I refer you to (if you can get hold of it) Muscle Magazine Issue 172 (I think) you will see a question and answer section where someone said the same thing as you i.e. do not do cardio for bodybuilding and on that article are photographs of the said bodybuilders doing cardio. Taking the drugs you mentioned may help you burn of the fat and achieve a 'ripped' look but like I said in my previous post, cardio is a necesity in order for you heart to grow equally as strong. On a personal note, the gym where I used to work out in had plenty of bodybuilders who were bigger than me and took various powders and tablets to achieve the ripped look and I'll tell you what (without wanting to appear big-headed) I was a lot more ripped. I had a lot more definition than them. I would rather do cardio than take any more supplements than I need to. Also, once we went on a jog (3miles) and the bodybuilders who did no cardio hardly lasted a mile.
  8. Actually you are wrong. Bodybuilding involves you packing on a lot of muscle in the space of a few years. Your body is getting a lot bigger so you heart will be under a bigger stress in order to supply the bigger body with blood. Therefore, a stronger heart is required hence the reason for cardio. In order to back up my claim, all the great bodybuilders, Arnold Schwarzennegar, Lou Ferrigno, Franco Colombo, Ronnie Coleman have all done cardio alongside their training and Arnold Schwarzennegar is regarded as the best bodybuilder ever.
  9. I bodybuild to have a strong body and do hardcore cardio to stay physically fit.
  10. Just because the play is about Sikh's and rape etc going on in a gurudwara, people say the play should be allowed. It shouldn't. I remember reading in a local paper, that the theatre management said that the people protesting were wrong and the play is a form of art and should be allowed. I ask people like this, why don't we make a play about child abuse taking place in a church and this has happened a lot in Britain? Watch all these people gang up and say that the play shouldn;t be allowed. Talk about double standards. It's like people believe treat the Sikh's like they are nothing but watch how you treat everyone else. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

    Caste/ Chamaar

I am from a 'chamaar' background and was brought up believing I was a hindu by my parents. As i got older, I went towards the path of Sikhi and realised that I had been fed the wrong info. Ravidass was a bhagat and not a Guru: 'Jahan Jahan Ja Hun, Tahan Teri Seva, Bhagat Heth, Gaveh Ravidassa' This is from the shabad 'Sachi Preet' composed by Bhagat Ravidass and he refers to himself as a Bhagat who where ever he goes will serve Waheguru. Bhagat Ravidass's compositions are within the Guru Granth Sahib and thats that. Guru Nanak is the first Guru because he was chosen by Waheguru to convey the message of Sikhi. Therefore, he is the first teacher of Sikhi and so making him the first Guru. Anyone before Guru Nanak was a Bhagat. Bhagat Ravidass was born before Guru Nanak. Guru Nanak was fairly young when he met Bhagat Ravidass who at this time was in the later years. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask them and I will try my best to answer them. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  12. From the comments made by Manjot and Bad Girl, I think its plain for all to see that they are trying to mix culture and religion together. This does not work. Oil and water springs to mind. The event is known as Raksha Bandhan. The sister ties the string in order to protect the brother from harm. This can be easily derived from the words 'Raksha Bandhan.' We as Sikh's do not need a piece of string to protect us from harm. The only protection for us is Waheguru. As a message for the whole sangat, do not try and combine religion and culture, it hardly ever works. A few examples: Panjabi culture believes in caste and a number of panjabi people will never marry out of 'caste'. Sikhi is against this ridiculous caste system. Panjabi people are renowned for their hardcore drinking of alcohol. However, we know that any form of intoxicants are contrary to Sikhi. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  13. GuruFateh! Bottom line is that this topic was created to discuss caste as a problem within Sikhi and not to discuss that everyone should be keeping a kesh etc. We need to address the problem of caste rather than drifing off the subject and discussing kesh etc. I habe seen plenty of 'Sikh's' who outwardly follow kesh, 5 k's etc but drink, smoke and believe in caste. So I don't think that necesarrily keeping kesh will put a stop to this problem. To address the problem, I feel that Sikh's should be educated in bani and how Gurbani states that this caste bsiness is wrong. I think that my own experience with Sikhs with kesh believing in caste is justification for my statement. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  14. At the end in the credits it says the shabad kirtan have been sung by Bhai Balbir Singh Ji (Hazuri Ragi Damdami Taksal). Just thought that might be some help to locating this shabad.
  15. GuruFateh! Having just watched the film 'Shaheed Baba Deep Singh' by CJ Multimedia, I really like the Shabad at the start of the film. It starts with 'Sadh Sangat.' I was wondering if anyone could provide a link from which I could download this beautiful shabad from? Thanks. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  16. Tere dode kade?? Your talking nonsense! Why would Pakistan attack us, what motive do they have? You've been sitting to close to the Brahmins! Sikhs need their own country just as the Jews do and they are less in quantity than we are. As for the current state of Panjab, do you think there is a country in this world that's crime, poverty, drugs, free? NO, so shut up talking about trivial matters and get behind the cause!! :TH: Watch your mouth! Read my further posts.
  17. GuruFateh! It isn't wrong to go to other places of worship as they are all places of God. However, we (whilst visiting) should not do or take part in anything that is against Sikhi. We should go with Waheguru in our hearts. Let's also think back to the days when the Guru's visited other religous places such as Guru Nanak's visit to the Kabba. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  18. Raj Karega Khalsa. Firstly, reflect on what that means. How many pure Khalsa are out there? How many people on SikhSangat could with hand on heart say that they are proper Sikh's the way the Sikh's of years gone by were. From personal experience, I know only TWO sikhs who follow the religion properly. Now thats saying something. The primary aim for us at this time is to make the Khalsa Panth strong again, Get all the lost sikhs onto the right path and stop them from taking intoxicants as Sant Jarnail did. In the eyes of God, we are failing. We need to care about our fellow brothers and sisters and ensure that they follow the wonderful path of Sikhi. Once this occurs, the Panth will be strong again and when this occurs, we will show ourselves worthy of obtaining Khalistan and Waheguru would look down on us and with his grace we would obtain Khalistan. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  19. Satnaam Waheguru. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  20. Sat Sri Akal! Thanks for that. Its the one I was looking for. Does anyone have the words to it and the translation? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  21. GuruFateh! Can someone post a link to where I can download this? I think it was done by Jagh Wala Jatha. If someone could also post the words and translations it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru JI Ki Fateh!
  22. Sat Sri Akal! The groom wearing a Kalgi is a disgrace! If you think you can live up to being the great Guru Gobind Singh, then wear a Kalgi. Honestly, I wonder if some people's heads function at all. I've personally never been to a wedding wear the groom has worn a kalgi (didn't know this occured). Are you also refering to the Sorma ceremony (the one wear the groom's Bhabi puts Sorma in your eyes)? That's also pointless. If you attend the Guru's hazoori in the correct Sikh manner that is appropriate. The Haldi ceremony (AKA. Maiyan) also makes me laugh. Where is the logic in rubbing a haldi based paste on the groom. I think that one takes the biscuit. Gupt_Paapi, why I stated about the person's standing during the Laavan is that this occurs in the Gurudwara in the presence of the Guru whereas the Sorma ceremony and Maiyan don't. But all these so-called ceremony's need to be eliminated. I've raised this point with numerous family members and when I explain from a religous point of view, they agree but yet can't bring themselves to put a stop to it. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  23. GuruFateh! A point I would like to raise is that at most weddings attended by myself or at least watching other people's weddings on films, I've noticed that when it comes to the Laavan, the brother's of the girl tend to stand around the palki and guide their sister around. Obviously I know this has been present for many years now but a new addition is that the girl's sisters also stand up now. I'm of the thinking that this is a pointless practice and the onus should be on elder (or younger) family members with Sikhi knowledge to inform their families and the next step should be for the Gurudwara to enforce. In my opinion, their is no religous significance of these persons standing. No one should interfere during the Laavan. The Laavan are taken in the Guru's Hazoori and involve the couple, Guru Granth Sahib and ultimately, Waheguru. I think its just another pointless Panjabi ritual which is done because people have been doing it for years without questioning why do we do it. Sangat opinions appreciated. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  24. To All The Sangat, Please accept my humblest apologies. I had certain ideas and beliefs that I stated to all of you. In fact, they were questions I would have like answering. But my mistake was to get caught up in today's world and look at things from a modern viewpoint. I did not refer to the ultimate source of information, the Guru Granth Sahib and the great and heroic acts from our history. This is my mistake and I sincerely apologise to any people I have offended. With the issues raised in this post, I have learnt a lot and my viewpoint has changed. I can not question the supreme authority of the Akal Takht and would not (I didn't know about the Khalistan Hukum) knowingly. I am now in support of the Khalistan movement and hope to Waheguru that I do not falter in this. In the near future, are there any talks or presentations about Bluestar or the Khalistan movement from which I can learn more (in the Midlands, preferbly Bham/Wolverhampton)? Once again, to all the Veer's and Bheinji's, my humblest apologies. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
