why we need to make it pavittar if only we have to eat it. why dnt we always eat kirpan bhet food at home too? if guru ji dnt eat it then wots the need to make it pavittar??? as we people can also eat other things which are not kirpan bhet.

Veer Ji, The literal meaning of the word Sikh is Learner. We learn from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sikh nu Guru Sahib da Hukam hai ke Sikh Shabad di Vichaar kare, as it says in Asa Ki Vaar: Sikhi Sikheya Gur Vichaar. Nadri Karam Laghae Paar. Actually it is called, Langar Nu Parwan karna, Acceptace of Langar in Guru's Darbar so that it could be served to Sadh Sangat after a humble Ardas to Guru Sahib when the preparation of the Langar is done. There's no such thing called "LANGAR NU BHOG LAUNA" becuase Kirpan bhog nahi laundi, means Kirpan does not eat. Langar should be served after Ardas since this practice (Kirpan bhet karna) was started during I think Sri Guru Harbind Sahib's times. However, when someobody is in a need and cannot wait until the Ardas is done, I don't think anything is wrong with serving the langar without Ardas in situations as such. totally wrong.....!!!!!!!! parwaan karwana is not the right correct word for langar. Now, O my Sovereign Lord King, please sample my food. ||2|| Page 1266 Guru Arjan Dev Jee Raag Malaar guru ji is partakh every where. guru can eat our food if we cooked it with succham( purity) and with full maryada. mostly the langar is not accepted or eaten by guru sahib due to the lack of purity while cooking. only the langer made by a singh or singhni who is well disciplined in sikhi rehet is being eaten by GURU SAHIB. as AKJ people follow very strict rules. and never ate any thing cooked by people who are not amritdhari. they never eat anything from market. let me tell u a episode of BHAI SAHIB BHAI RANDHEER SINGH JI (FORMER OF AKJ) Once bhai sahib went to SRI DARBAR SAHIB (AMRITSAR). there bhai sahib ddnt take ''karah parshad''. people there started talking abt this matter and finally asked BHAI SAHIB that why he ddnt took ''karah parshad??'' bhai sahib replied," tuhade karah parshad nu bhog nahi lagea hoya? ta asi es nu kive shak sakde haan?" (bhai sahib refused coz he knew that the parshad is also not accepted or eaten by guru sahib.) then people there asked BHAI SAHIB to bring the parshad which cud be accepted by GURU SAHIB. then BHAI SAHIB made karah parshad degh their own and took it to darbar sahib. there was aslo the other karah parshad which was daily prepared at darbar sahib. both degs( karah parshad) were there . after ardas when both degs were weighed then the weight of degh prepared by BHAI SAHIB was less in weight from its original weight. but there was no change of weight in the other degh. and bhai sahib prooved that WAHEGURU JI eat ur food or degh if its prepared with full maryada by a sikh keeping full rehet. now days desi ghee is not pure coz its readymade and prepared by non amritdhari people in factories. also wheat is not grinded by amritdharis. thats why mosty langar or even karah parhad is not bhoged (eaten ) by GURU SAHIB IN AKJ SAMAGAMS DESI GHEE IS TAKEN FROM SINGHS WHO MAKE IT THEIR OWN. EVEN MANY AKJ SINGHS ALSO BELEIVE IN MILKING COW OR BUFFALO THEIR OWN AND MANY BRING MILK FROM AMRITDHARI MILKMANS. EVEN THEY NEVER EAT ANYTHING TOUCHED BY NON AMRITDHARIS. not a good idea. kirpan is a kakkar for sikhs and for self protection. its to small for the protection. its not for showing like in the pic in the above link. and moeover it looks like christian religious sign cross while we see somebody wearing in neck. but u can take a good looking stylish kirpan but a big one.

u cant assosiate all indian festivals with sikhs. rakhar punea is something related to moon. and sikhism dnt believe in all that bamanvad. there are alots of indian festivals, mostly related to hinduism. and i beleve that this rakri festival is based on the cleverness. see how clever is the queen of chittor who went to himayu for protection. i read that story in school time also. before going to bind him a rakhri she was making scheems, how to protect her kingdom. then she got ideas from some of her ministers and she went to himayu with fake emotions of love. read this from a site: In 300BC when King Alexander attached India, he stepped back by the heroic effort by the Indian King Puru for the first time. Knowing this Wife of Alexander approached King Puru with Rakhi and King Puru accepted her as sister. After that when next war took place King Puru kept the promise made to her Greek sister and refrained from King Alexander. This is the oldest incident came to know about Raksha Bandhan. In 15th century the Raksha Bandhan come up with a new dimension when Famous Mughal emperor Humayun got a Rakhi from Rani Karnawatee of Chittor. The incident happens when Bahadur Shah, The Sultan of Gujrat invaded Chittor and just widowed queen of Maharaja of Chittor found no way to defend, she sent a Rakhi to Mughal Badshah Humayun, and touched by the warmth of the brother sister relationship Badshah Humayun marched for Chittor to save Rani Karnawatee. The most recent reference of Raksha Bandhan as social revolutionary ritual found when in 1905 British empire decided to break Bengal, a state of British India in parts in basis of religion. Kaviguru Rabindra Nath Tagore arranged a ceremony to celebrate Raksha Bandhan to unite both Hindu and Muslim people of Bengal and launch a protest against British empire. Raksha Bandhan basically celebrated in full moon called "Rakhi Purnima". In different parts of India Raksha Bandhan celebrated in different names. In northern and western part of India Rakhi celebrated in "Rakhi Purnima". In Western Ghats it calls "Nariyel Purnima" to signify the full moon like coconut. In southern part of the India Rakhi celebrated as "Avani Avittam / Upakarmam". Central India celebrates it as "Kajari Purnima". Far western part of the India celebrates it as "Pavitrapana". now also KARWACHOUTH is an indian festival and related to hinuism now will u laso say that sikh wives shud keep that fast for the long life of their husbands????? same is the case of rakhri.

Not to be negative but the sikhs doing the beadbi were all elders This is the state of the situation where youth have to teach elders about sadkar for Guru Maharaj. 2 months of discussion got nowhere with these lot. The main culprit was Rashpal Atwal from Watford. He was adament to doing this beadbi. They are rejected Watford Gurdwara Committee wannabes. They couldnt get their way at the Gurdwara so they set up a rival diwan! Atwal used Maharaj as a toy right to the end until Guru Maharaj himself told the Singhs & Singhias where he was It just shows the respect they have for Guru Maharaj. The kept Guruji in a metal case in a car for over an hour, Sunday's temperature was over 28c!!! The Granthis are likely to be Jagroop Singh from Hayes. He's a free lance Granthi and a common face at all Southall Gurdwaras. hey anybody know dat dr jakhu is our neighbour. is house is abt 1 km away from mine. he was mona before he joined the party. then he became sikh after joining mann. that swot i knew. i come to know all dat when i read this post. also once he treated me when i was 15 or 16 yrs there was pain in my stomach. he gave me injection and i kept sleeping many hours hahahah and i enjoyed the sleep very much.
