  6. Hi, need help from the sangat please.. Recently (2months back) I had a major argument with a friend (lives on my road too!) and since that day, he has never forgiven me. He puts it down to many reasons, which i find very minimal and minute between two good friends. Were both guys, hes 18 and im 20. We've known each other for 8+ years and became very good friends about 4 years back. However, i am also very unforgiving to others, and have blocked people out of my life before. Can i put this down to karma? I didnt think it would matter if we didnt talk, and i have tried again and again to get him to talk to me, but it seems this was the last straw between us.. Even though we spent days together, and was at each others houses all the time, and even knew each others parents very well, its such a shame in this world that this happens. It saddens me, as i really thought we would be friends for life. Is there anyone with similar stories, or help, to what i should do? What does Sikhi tell me to do in this situation. Never thought, as a guy, that i would be heartbroken by a friend, its unbelievable! :-( Thank you sikhsangat WJKK WJKF
  7. Re:

I AM TOTALLY WITH THE PROTESTER, AND 100% SUPPORT WHAT THEY DO AND HOW THEY DID IT I AM SO DISGUSTED WITH THE FIRST POST, WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON? HAVE YOU FORGOT WHAT HAPPENED TO US? AND WHAT DID WE DO? WE KILLED THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE (GHANDI) AND TO RIGHT WE DID. AND NOW, MUSLIMS ARE BEING MURDERED IN THEIR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, AND A SOME RIGHTFULLY PROTEST AGAINST THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE. THEY ARE SHOWING A STAND. SOMETIMES, WE NEED TO FORGET OUR PREJUDISM AND LOOK AT THE FACTS. SOME PEOPLE ARE UTTERLY CLUELESS, AND IT ANNOYS AND FRIGHTENS ME THAT PEOPLE LIKE THIS POST STARTER ARE ABLE TO SPREAD THESE MESSAGES. DISGRACE.
  9. I don't know if they are in our blood but I agree with your sentiment. Someone in another thread pointed the disgraceful abuse of lower castes and Biharis by Sikhs in the Panjab. This includes verbally, physical and sexual abuse. Maybe we should start by shining light there? I do agree with what you say, and totally agree that it is unacceptable and an utter disgrace. But, you put your finger on such a small topic that is WRONG and the work of a FEW. We should not forget this but we should not reflect the wrong doings of a few and project them on a whole population. Agreed, this is something that needs to be addressed, but why focus entirely on a RELATIVLY small issue, when we have such larger and more widespread topics that effects our WHOLE population? This happens alot in society in general, we continue to magnify the small issues when we have the biggest issues ignored and disregarded. I think its a technique used by people who are above us in the hierachy, they teach us to do this, so that their biggest crimes against us are never mentioned or addressed.
  10. Beautiful an very inspiring post. We need to teach the youth these stories and truths from a very early age. Sometimes, what happens is, that the intimate details are missed out. So youth simply remember, Muslims came to kill us and we killed them. Which is true but this breeds alot of hate and prejudism against Muslims. We should teach how our ancestors hated NOBODY, and fighted out of justice and in belief of what was morally right. The astonishing courage and good values of our ancestors seem incredible, what those same morals and values are in our blood. We need to bring these out and ask for forgiveness from all the years of ignoring and going against our MOST BASIC VALUES. Brilliant post, thank you for sharing such valuable knowledge.
  11. I read that it missed him unfortunatly... But the emphasis here should not be on the shoe throwing, but on the Indian "government". For them to drop charges against the congress minister who conducted the 1984 massacre, is barbaric to say the least. Just goes to show that the indian government is just as guilty as any other murderous nation like america these days, absolute murderers in my eyes. No justice, no apology, just further indications that sikhs are oppressed, just like millions of other innocent people in the world, ie Palastinians in gaza. World is a horrible place to live in, in this day and age. God willing, all these murderous nations get their punishment for all these decades of oppression and injustice.
  12. http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/04/0....shoe.throwing/ By Harmeet Shah Singh CNN NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- A journalist hurled a shoe at the Indian home minister, apparently in anger over his Congress party fielding a leader who had been accused of leading anti-Sikh riots in New Delhi in the aftermath of the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984. Security personnel caught hold of the journalist, identified as Jarnail Singh, and took him into custody after the incident, which happened as Home Minister P. Chidambaram held a news conference in New Delhi. Singh was later let off without charge, Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said. The journalist had hurled the shoe when the minister refused to comment on his party nominating Jagdish Tytler, a lawmaker from the Congress party. Don't Miss Eight dead, 80 hurt in India blasts Blog: Shoes also the weapon of choice in South Korea "Let not emotional action of one person hijack the entire press conference," Chidambaram remarked after the incident. Recently, India's federal police recommended withdrawal of the case against Tytler, citing lack of credible evidence. Official figures say about 3,000 Sikhs were lynched and burned alive by mobs after Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards
  13. THERES ALWAYS ONE. "Dhan teri sikhi", look at these sites. http://www.bangkokpost.com/media/content/20090105/4769.jpg http://yalibnan.com/site/archives/2008/12/...gaza_war_in.php (these are just the tip of the iceberg) Look at yourself in the mirror with a straight face, and repeat "they should finish it off". You cannot underestimate the predictability of sttupidity, and you have proved this fact with merits. Think.
  14. Im afraid your first poinn of "both sides are at fault" is totally wrong, and i urge you to seek the truth through others means such as non biased news coverage such as George galloway's website or through Press TV. This is the same thing the hindu propaganda said against the sikhs in 1984, and people fell for there lies. Dont fall for the lies of the western media against there new target, the muslims.
  15. You have truly inspired me. I cannot thank you enough for this post. I have in the past realised and have been taught that forgivness, like love, is a blessing that we some are given and some are not. Through spiritual and righeous way we are able to seek this tool, that will give us help fix certain aspects of our lives. But there is one point that i wish to discuss further, you say that cutting people out has personal gain. This is true in the sense that our negative energy and emotions are irradicated, and our lives can become more focused upon righteous things that are important. Do you not agree? Meaning this sense of personal gain is beneficial and wouldnt go against sikhi? Its just, sometimes when you have so many bad experiences that have accumilated, one gives up. As you say, the world is maya de kehl, and especially in this day and age we must be both loving and forgiving, but very careful upon who we let into our lives. Thank you agin.
  16. And because in this day and age, it is unfortunate we have such ignorant people out there, may i just say i am not a "Muslim lover" or a "P(*&" or any other phrase use to describe those who exercise the laws of sikhism to try and help others. Thought i would pre warn many out there, for whom this may be used as an excuse to preach more hate. Thank you.
  17. Im quite honestly, shocked. I have been a member of sikhsangat for quite a while now, and respect the website for its uniqueness. But i've been waiting now, and been scouring through the forum to find not one post on this site regarding the massacre in Gaza. What we went through in 1984, is happening to hundreds of innocent men, women and children in Gaza. A MODERN DAY GENOCIDE, that Sikhi without question comdemns. Where are your views, comments, or prayers for these people? Please allow me to be the first, and say that I as a Sikh, wish that these innocent people in Gaza overcome this horrific genocide attempt on them, and people around the world are showing their support and praying for you. May peace be with you. Ranj.

  19. I appreciate your "concern". But your using a fine comb and scouring through meaningless forums and trying to provoke a response to otherwise ignored rubbish, rubbish thats being dished out by a very few mindless people that co-exist in EVERY faith, culture, following etc etc. Now, if you used this concern of yours and replaced it to trying to focus on many other important things like the horrific mass slaughter in Gaza, i think your concern would go far, and it would be more in line with the religion you claim to follow. Sikhism preaches not to hate anybody, and I think i've had just about enough of prejudice people out there, coming onto a website like this and fuelling there hate. WE GET THE POINT, SOME MUSLIMS HATE SIKHS. BUT GUESS WHAT? IT ALSO WORKS THE OTHER WAY. ITS CALLED THE NATURE OF THE MINDLESS, AND REPRESENTS IGNORANCE. Come on my friend, surely you can put this concern elsewhere and actually make a difference in todays world. May peace be with you. Ranj.
  20. Hi there, I feel quite guilty on talking about a personal dilema when the world cries out for help on more important issues, so il keep it brief. Im quite young, but over the years i have been cutting people out of my life for good, because of reasons where i felt insecure in the friendship/relationship. However, these reasons have become more and more tedious (example, I stopped talking to friends whom i was very close with, becuase of very minor arguments and disagreements!) How can i find it within me to forgive people and learn to move on? I feel as though the world being in its current state, its hard to believe in anybody and so i've just "trained" myself, to completly cut people out But i have a feeling this may come back to hurt me, and i think it already has What guidence from a SIKHI prospective can people suggest? What does Gurbani teach us about trusting people? Thank you very much May you go in peace Ranj
  21. Before "jaag de rayna" what does he say...."ik nami....(and goes on)" much appreciated.
  22. sorry could somebody translate this song for me please may have some religious entity, but i suspect its more of a love song gurdas mann and tru skool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rDuQ4Ujts8 at least the main corus "jaag de rayna" would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Whats the bigger crime? Sikh girls getting converted and muslim girls getting converted (evens out, no?) Or millions dying in wars, whilst you dont even know whats going on? Or shall i do what you do? Find a rare, infrequent, 2 sided issue and make a big issue? Wont stoop to your lowness thank you.
  24. LOL, your just another brain washed individual, who uses words like Pyjama to encourage your fellow dim witted, idiotic friends to laugh and follow suit. Wow, they really have got you by the short and curley's havent they! Dear oh dear.
  25. You arguments are terrible. As said before, I cant reason with stupidity, and therefore will leave you to dwell in your stories and kick up a fuss over sawdust, when there is tons of wood that is sitting right there needing sorting out. You carry on going against the laws of Sikhism whilst claiming you are a Sikh. Its most people like yourselfs who have posted relativly dimwitted styled arguments such as "Dal Singh" who loves "Millitant Singhs". By millitant singhs your probably mean saints? Of who much I HAVE ACTUALLY MET and reasoned with. To all others like Dal Singh, who think they solve issues, guess what, YOU DONT. Your just better of wearing your orange flags once a year on mela days at parks, whilst looking for fights. Met your sort before, and exactly the reason why I have come to my conclusions today. Im ashamed to say I also used to hang round with rif-raft like your sort before, but thank God I came to my senses. I hope that all others to realise that people like you let us down.
