Veer ji, what you don't understand is that unlike Catholicism, Islam does not have any unified authority that can give rulings for all 1.6 billion+ Muslims....so this makes it harder for Muslims to deal with this situation..I mean, if Muslims had a pope, then it'd be easier..that Muslim authority would've said "Al Qaeda are takfiris, and not Muslims" and boom! game over. Al Qaeda fighters would've left their leadership and no Muslim nation would even think of giving these beasts any refuge. U.S interest safe in Middle-East? You forgot that Egypt, the largest Arab country, is now "Mubarak-less" and under Muslim Brotherhood. Iraq is Saddam-less BUT under Iranian influence now...thanks to U.S for tilting the balance of power in favor of Iran... Al Qaeda with/without Osama is equally harmful...Osama was just symbolic..Al Qaeda is a very well organized insurgent organization....they don't go down just b/c one guy is killed... The verse you quoted has completely different meaning/context but leaving that aside, I can understand that Jhatka thing. For a Muslim, non-slaughtered meat is 'haram', so Muslims will try to have hala/slaughtered meat instead of Jhatka...Now if an area is Muslim-majority, obviously majority of the residents of that area will demand halal/slaughtered meat..I fail to understand the bad thing here? Or am I missing something? If there is a Sikh meat-seller doing business in a Muslim-majority area..then offcourse residents will say "Hey man...can you slaughter your meat while giving to us instead of Jhatka"..there is a way to say thing..disrespectfully 'forcing' this on others is wrong..if that happened..then its wrong obviously.. Agree. But a negotiated settlement will save Afghanistan from another civil war. Afghan Talibans are a very mature entity. They have experience of ruling Afghanistan before...I hope some sort of settlement is reached where Talibans rule Afghanistan and have peace with Northern Alliance..at the same time..allow education for girls and protect basic human rights etc... Lets see what happens... One thing is sure : Afghan Talibans aren't corrupt as ANA/North Alliance/Hamid Karzai's government...

Just yesterday, Taliban bombed American Bagram Airbase and killed 4 U.S soldiers...while Americans are begging for negotiations with Taliban now. After 10 years of war, hundreds of billions of U.S dollar spent, deaths of millions of innocent lives....Americans come back to square one! Its a good step never than less...America is defeated in Afghanistan...Any negotiated settlement is good before Afghanistan goes into the civil war! Talibans aren't one single group though...lets see what happens...

To be honest : Sikhs in Pakistan live a BETTER life than Sikhs in India. Islamic Fundamentalists are at war with everyone...no one is targeting Sikhs...tell me even if 50 Sikhs died in last 10 years of war? Over-whelming majority of victims of TTP terrorism are Muslims...Countries go through the cycles of civil unrest/war...Pakistan is no exception. Atleast Pakistani state did not murder 30,000+ Sikhs like Indian state did...nor did we attack Sikh holiest sites.... Now you understand why Sikhs choose to live in Pakistan? I don't understand why Indian Sikhs choose to live in India where their religion is not even recognized. Whats with all this negativity? If Pakistan is doing something right, then appreciate it..rather than this negativity....

It is now a problem b/c Afghanistan is a law-less country. Civil war, military bombing, foreign occupation...in such situation, minorities will be persecuted. Ethnicities will kill each other..and the country will lose its federation. Thats whats happening in Afghanistan. This is Political Science 101. Put Americans in same situation..guess what will happen? The same thing. The human societies lose their social fabric..chaos and anarchy follows. Stop blaming Islam for everything...This does not solve anything....

Very sad. Afghans have seen the WORST in last 30 years..Their whole society and its fabric has deteriorated. It has more to do with wars, destruction of institutions, and occupation of decades than Islam. Don't simplify things by just blaming Islam... I hope and pray that Sikh brothers stay safe and may Allah grant stability and prosperity to Afghanistan...

Any marginalization of Muslims will create a space where enemies of india can exploit the situation. If Indian Muslims are pushed to a certain limit, Pakistani ISI will BUTCHER india by infiltrating the marginalized/victimized Muslim population of india..and since there are millions of Muslims in india..this will be a disaster to indians..

Muslims are at the lowest in social pyramid of India. Like all efficient governments, Indian government will definitely try to uplift them by different programs/incentives etc. Same is the case here with black communities in ghettos of Chicago etc. They get upper hand in jobs, university applications and so on...It is only for the collective good of country... Believe me, Modi will also keep those subsidies and incentives intact..Congress does it for india, and BJP will do the same. C'mon--there is no Islamification going on of anything. Aurangzeb was a ruler of Mughal Empire and was the commander of his massive military. He expanded Mughal Empire to its height..He doesn't represent Muslims.
