yes veer ji , there are device which look like old style walkmans but have usb connectors to your PC which help capture the sound file then you run it through the software accompanying it to clean up hiss etc. I see SImran's shown some links i reckon the ion tape express is pretty good at 50 quid but use Audacity to handle files. info from a user : I needed to convert my tape collection, and we tired of using headphone jacks. This thing is fantastic.In response to other reviews: 1) The unit is plenty loud enough even with the cheapo included headphones 2) it's not meant to be used as a walkman. Don't try and you won't be disappointed. 3) The included software has good intentions. Poor execution. Use Audacity, not iTunes. Pros: 1) It's the right price 2) Easy operation 3) True plug and play on Vista. Just plug it into a USB port and it worked instantly with Audacity. Did you hear that? No driver problems! And it does not have a noise reduction function, which it desperately needs. Using Audacity, download it for free. Then follow the links on the Audacity site and download the lame MP3 encoder. Using this setup is simple: 1) start Audacity 2) click record 3) press the play button on the unit 4) when you are done recording, click stop in Audacity 5) stop the player 6) select a small section of "silence" in the recording. 7) in the Effect drop-down menu, select Noise Removal 8) Click Get Noise Profile 9) Select the entire recording (all 90 minutes at once if you have a recording that long) 10) in the Effect drop-down menu, select Noise Removal 11) Click Remove Noise. Wait for it to finish. 12) You can easily see where songs start and finish, so highlight 1 song, go to file-->Export selection as MP3, and save it. Do this for each song. You now have the songs saved, named, and noise is removed. You don't need that tape any more. You win!

honestly having been out of the circuit for a while , I wouldn't know one jatha from another as all I see are my Guru's sons and daughters ...it is a blessing I may have been familiar with AKJ sangat in the old days from my childhood doesn't mean I don't have respect for the knowledge of Taksalis and the open-hearted sewa of the Nanaksarias here in the UK , we've got to learn from the best of us and amplify it to make it part of our makeup ...loyalty is to Guru Granth and Guru Panth . Bhai Sahib went to many nations towards the end , he had a series of strokes and lived in Amritsar very near to Darbar Sahib , it was great to hear how he would rush to do darshan despite his bad health...He was the picture of nimrata and Akal Purakh 's love when I think of him my heart gets so happy.

I am disgusted reading stories of 'mazhabi' or 'sikhligar' sikhs being sidelined into seperate gurdwarey . I propose all Sikhs have ONE gurdwara/dharamshala per pind where there is a proper pind assigned local pehradar rota , a proper larivaar saroop , handwritten by pind vasi including the lower caste sikhs . If any granthi/paati refuses their rights to be there KICK THEM OUT. That was my first thoughts start galvanising their rights and then others will understand what is true Sikhi

This may be evil thinking on my part but I have noticed all the Saroops that have come to harm have been Padd chedd prints not puratan birs which are all larivaar ...I would be interested to know if the Saroop in hurricane Katrina which floated on the surface of water with its palki Sahib was larivaar saroop . Maybe this is Guru ji giving us the opportunity to shut down printing and pay attention to the status of current installations in India.
