I understand what you are going through. This happens to many teens. You do paath and this is a very good thing. Don't give up doing paath. You repetively asked.....is Vaheguru listening to me. By this I mean, paath brings good feeling in a person. After doing paath, it sounds to me you still feel empty inside, sad and frustrated. So what can you do to improve your experience as you do paath? When you watch your favorite show or a movie you think that will be really good your mind is completely focused on keeping track of what happened, who did what, how it was done, how the plot was revealed, etc. After you finish the show or movie you are again thinking about how great of an episode or movie it was to watch. You tell others and really want them to experience the good feeling you received from watching it. Now apply the same to doing paath. Focus on what Guru Sahib is telling you with interest. Capture the picture Guru Sahib is painting in the shabad. Listen to the shabad repeatedly and read the shabads multiple times. Pay close attention to what words Guru Sahib is using and where the pause comes. Internalize the shabads or shabads by telling your mind over and over what Guru Sahib had said in the shabad. By doing so, you will realize, you needed to listen to what Guru Sahib is telling you. Guru Sahib has been listening to you all this time, but when Guru Sahib was speaking through the paath you are doing, you were not paying attention. As you start paying attention, you will become aware of your true friends. Each Gurbani shabad is your true friend. They are always with you, when you need a helping hand. They helped bhai mani Singh ji when he was being cut limb from limb. They took his pain away. They came to the rescue of Bhagat Naamdev ji and Bhagat Prahlaad ji. guru gobind singh ji called himself Singh and not Guru Gobind Rai or kaur after taking amrit. Singh signifies male amritdharis. Kaur signifies women amritdharis.
