    This is one of the most profound post I have read on this forum , kudos to veer Jassa for taking the high road of none else but Guru Granth Sahib itself. Everyone , das di hath hor ke benti - before taking sides and allowing yourself to be filled with such venomous hate (very unspiritual act btw , no matter what opinion the other side holds) read SGGS cover to cover (making sure you understand both shabdarth and bhavartha) , without any presumptions and then read Dasam Granth cover to cover and now you are in a position to form an opinion.     Bro jacfsingh singhs of this jatha have been practising gurmat sangeet from 2 am to late morning for many years - they have taught many new students as well. (by the way this shabad is very apt for this thread- if only it can dawn upon you and other hateful hearts) Moreover they have been doing kirtan without making it into a profession (unlike our ragis , they put in so much hard work out of sheer love), and to make things more hard they didn't know any punjabi till the age of 18 Besides spreading venom on internet , what is your 'contribution' to sikhi, how many hours of sleep have you chosen to let go for your guru, have you taken the time to study guru granth sahib in depth I am not saying the above in a hateful , ego fight kind of a way , coz that would belittle my own spiritual progress, I want you to wake up and become nirvair to the marrow of your bones.

Or how Guru Tegh Bahadur reacted to DhirMal's followers making an attempt on his life ? Also when a person does something evil he is still doing it in hukam - Lekhai bolan bolna , lekhai khana khau If you agree, reply to this thread with Guru's fateh avowing that you will make a conscious effort to overcome ego fueled us vs them hate and spite .

    Despite his clarificaiton, this guy Nishant sharma has done his part to widen the rift between hindus and sikhs and they are especially very opposed to any efforts at sikh self determination , and also want to protect human right viloators ( pp officers) The reason he has put forth this video is not coz he is really disturbed at the beating of the sikh youth (maybe he even admires it clandestinely ) - but coz hes scared shitless that singhs will retaliate. Having said that we as guru's sikhs must rise avove hate and rather than hating back groups like rss/bajrang dal should work towards getting more people into the sikh fold -particularly the downtrodden . This is possible only when our jeevan is of the highest order and we have the spiritual glow (noor) on our faces. Remember revolution starts with one person.

    khalsa ji , IF this is not a wake up call I don't know what will be - lets go to guru ghar today and swear that we will do our best to keep ourselves combat ready - both armed and unarmed - and ask maharaj to bless us with strength in so doing . ....we are the descendents of bota singh and garja singh, bachitar singh and bagh singh ....even a single khalsa should be able to kick these goons' backsides ! Time to learn martial arts and carry a real weapon (not the tiny symbolic kirpan with which we can't even peel a patato) - one that we can wield with confidence when need arises and also treat our body as a shastar - be fit and strong and ever ready ! Lets stop bickering over minor differences (keski, dasam, ragmala, etc) and come together as one khalsa nation !

Could be anything money, spouse , kids, house, car, job, academic score etc . Now imagine for a moment if you were the only person living on an island , would you still be complaining about your fate like you do now ? And social media has made the situation only worse - now we get to rub in all our "achievements" Get out of the rat race , life was supposed to be a pleasant picnic not an excruciating marathon where only the winners take all !

    It saddens me to see on this forum and in general among sikhs of the day , degree of spite towards anyone who has different views. Is it possible for a spiritual person to be hateful ? Aren't we engaging in bedbi by disregarding guru's mahavak - " Na ko bairi nahi begana....." Agreed the world is not perfect , but our attitude towards correcting it should be driven with passion and zeal , but without animosity and bitterness - after all its all his bhana e.g I was very hateful towards people like KP gill and Brar but over time I have understood that they were just parts in a play ...having said that it does not mean I will give up pursuit of justice , that should be done so such incidents are not repeated ,but the overloaded emotions are gone ever since I fully internalized "Hukmai andar sab ko bahar hukam na koi "

    I am very aware of that shabad veer ji , but if we do not eat even plants - how will we survive - "jeeya ka ahaar jee " - also when in doubt , follow the principle of least harm - Also when you eat an apple the apple tree does not die - the fruit is the reproductive part of the tree which it does want to be consumed so the seeds can travel a bit On another note people who claim holier than thou by being vegeterians need to check up on how cruel the dairy industry is and should go full vegan to ensure cows are not mistreated (not to mention supporting the horrendous practice of veal)/.

    Well I take gurbani over us mortal's opinions (myself included) - Khoob khana Khichri Jeh Mein Amrit Loon || Heiyre roti karne gala katave kaun || Great is the simple food of rice and lentils, for who would like to die to end up someone else's food . This line clearly indicates that eating plants is fine , whereas eating animals - "gal vad hatya kamae" , also animals feel both fear and pain - what kind of spiritual person will be cold to their cries ?

    I am a vegan so the remark is one of asinine ones that I typically here from Meat eaters in support of their cruel practices ! Plants do not have a nervous system and we have to follow the principle of minimum harm ! BTW next time someone tells you that plants have feelings too - retort with "Then take your banana for a walk instead of your dog " :)
