    Chola/bana

LOL at some of these posts, I just read that I replied to it a year ago. People put too much emphasis on clothing, it's just there to cover you. To above poster: Mata Sahib Kaur ji Mata Sundar Kaur ji both wore bana, Mata Bhaag Kaur ji also wore bana.
  3. Paji with all due respect if you listen to katha of this prasang by mahapurakh they say that the sword was not able to cut maahraj's sees; maharaj themselves disjoined their head from their deh and it fell into the sevaks hands. Maharaj ji willingly gave up their sees. Another example although in a different context is when Bhai Gurmukh Singh ji Audeesa jumped into the fire where Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh ji'd antam sanskaar was happening, out of pyaar.
  4. Completely agree, and also Guru Tegh Bahadur maharaj ji's shaheedi.

Penji it's not unrealistic it just depends on the sharda (devotion) you have for your shastar, after you wear your kakkar for years they do really become your ang, limbs. And because of this separation from your kirpaan, a gift from maharaj, out of pyaar it's not hard to not eat on a plane for 8 - 16 hrs. Also before you put your kirpaan back on do japji sahib and ask maharaj for maafi, then eat. Hope I don't sound weird but it is just all of sheer pyaar. Might be an idea to get a direct flight and I wouldn't recommend a mini kirpaan, a shastar should be practical and fulfill its function.
  6. Wjkk Wjkfateh... heard there's gonna be kamaee camps on in Leicester for Singhnia and Singhs one too Ne1 got any more info???
  7. lol don't worry about other people paji, I've learnt over the last few years that there is very little that is unacceptable in real sikhi. Discipline is important but when you take away the human-ness of "religion" and you realise that Sikhi is about falling in love with maharaj and becoming maharaj then anything that you do out of true pyaar is accepted by Maharaj. After keeping intense rehit and bibek, you may realise one day that in actual fact there are no rules. Not to say that you shouldn't follow maryada but only if you understand why you're doing such things. Really try and understand the essence of maharaj and he'll show you what he wants.
  8. LOL at sikhi-centric views on marriage, many many gursikhs have chosen in the past and present to not get married. If being sikhi-centric if about devoting your every resource for the betterment of Sikhi then you can use your time to do parchaar and help sikhs understand Sikhi. Just having kids and raising them as gursikhs will not necessarily make them kamaee vaale gursikhs when they have minds of their own. Doing parchaar with your life, or other sevas is just as good as getting married and having kids.
  9. According to mahapurakh marriage is optional, in terms of singhnia most mahapurakh who are female are brahmcharis (not married), maharaj says in bani that both grist and brahmcharj are accepted. nwnk nwmu visAw ijsu AMqir prvwxu igrsq audwsw jIau ]4]40]47] naanak naam vasiaa jis anthar paravaan girasath oudhaasaa jeeo |4|40|47| O Nanak, if the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the mind, one is approved and accepted, whether he is a house-holder or a renunciate. ||4||40||47|| khu nwnk guru pUrw ByitAw prvwxu igrsq audws ]4]4]5] kahu naanak gur pooraa bhaettiaa paravaan girasath oudhaas |4|4|5| Says Nanak, one who meets the Perfect Guru, is celebrated both as a householder as well as a renunciate. ||4||4||5|| Just like many other things in life like education you have a choice, the only marriage of utmost importance is that of your soul and parma aatma (maharaj) Don't worry about these sort of things until you feel you need to, talk to mahapurakh who will give you insight into this.
  10. Sant Baba Ajit Singh Ji (Hansali Wale) I second that and... Baba Santokh Singh ji (Jotee Saroop gurughar) that's up the road from Hansali Baba Harbans Singh ji (Delhi - Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Delhi) Baba Baldev Sing ji jogewal Baba Kulwant Singh ji Jathedar Hazoor Sahib
  11. Sorry Amarpreet paji that's all the dates I have at the mo...
  12. Orr maybe we should use the calendar approved by Maharaj: "Sambat Sattrah Sahas Bhanijjai Aradh Sahas Phun Teen Kahijai..." or when Guru Nanak Dev ji maharaj used the Bikrami calendar to foretell of Baabar coming: "They shall come in '78, depart in '97, and then shall rise another disciple of a hero.[1]" All Guru Sahibs used the Bikrami calendar, I don't think akal takht can rule over what maharaj found acceptable: To Sukhninder paji, the dates are as follows: (M:/P: = Mahalla ior Paatisaahee, sorry had to write short hand don't have much time, number indicates which Guru Sahib ) Avatar P:10 11 Jan Avatar M:7 16 Jan Guriaee M:7 1 April Guriaee M:3 4 April Jotee jot M:2 7 April Jotee jot M:6 8 April Vaisakhi 14 April Guriaee M:9 16 April Jotee jot M:8 16 April Avtaar M:9 22 April Avtaar M:5 24 April Avtaar M:2 4 May Avtaar M:3 16 May Guriaee M:6 25 May Jotee jot M:5 5 June Avtaar M:6 16 June Avtaar M:8 24 July Guriaee M:5 30 August Pehla Prakash SGGSJ 30 August Jotee jot M:4 31 August Guriaee M:4 10 September Jotee jot M:3 12 September Guriaee M:2 17 September Jotee jot M:1 22 September Avtaar M:4 14 October Guriaee M:8 21 October Jotee jot M:7 21 October Guriaee SGGSJ 28 October Jotee jot P:10 31 October Avtaar M:1 10 November Guriaee P:10 27 November Jotee jot M:9 29 November Avtaar P:10 31 December
  13. Due to janams and karam that we've attained, we get better or worse lives. For example today's presidents and celebrities are there due to the good actions in the past lives,be it mass donations or bathing at sites of pilgrimage. These people after this life, if they have not attained any more good karam, will be worse off in their next life. But in order to do kamaee, in order to start building up an account of naam you need 'kirpa' this is hard to get, mahraj says Gurprasaad, Jap; only after attaining the Guru's blessings can you start to recite maharaj's naam. But once you do this, there's pretty much no going back; you may go forward and back in this life a little, say someone takes amrit and then dies a bujjar kurehiti. Even so mahraj says if someon takes Amrit then Guru sahib will keep them out of the pits of hell for 10000 years. They'll still come back as a gursikh. Mahrapurakh have said something along the line of as many branches there are on a tree you need that many 'good karam' to be born as a human, the no. of fruit on each branch on this tree is the additinal amount needed to be born as sikh; on top of this the number of seeds in each fruit is the number of extra good karam you need in order to take Amrit in this lifetime. Sant Baba Waryam Singh said that if you are born into a Gursikh family (or if you get into sikhi at avery yound age) and if you do a large amount of kamaee from the beginning, it should not be hard to attain "naam" (where no conscious effort is needed to repeat the name of Lord - it subliminally happens) by the time you reach your 50s. If you are amritdhari now you are more than definitely carrying on kamaee from previous janams. and have been amritdhari before.
  14. The Singh that Sant Gurbachan Singh ji spoke to was one of the 40 singhs that Guru Gobind Singh ji did katha too after the Dakhni Oankaar incident and santhiya etc. when starting upon Damdami Taksaal. The singh that gave the fruit was "Viday Mukht" i.e. if you listen to katha of maharaj you can be mukht whilst still in this body. That singh went to sachkhand shortly after and came back to be born in the pind Rhode, that was Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji in their past life.
  15. Iagree with you paji it wud have been nice, but had the Sikhs not have stood up again for those who had betrayed us so brutally then we would not have been known today as the most compassionate panth on the planet. "Phareedaa jo tai maaran mukeeaa(n) tinnaa n maarai ghum, Aapnerdai ghar jaaeeai pair tinna de chum" Oh Fareed, those people that hit in you, do not him them back with your fist. Go back to your home, and instead kiss their feet. :D

    Marrage Day

You're right it is onl for procreation, in terms of when one should consummate one's marriage it is up to the individual but you must take into consideration that indulging in such activity does take chunks out of your focus and kamaee so should only be done if necessary. i.e. one wishes to have children. And although the lives of Mahraj are very different, if one looks at Guru Tegh Bahadur ji's jeevan they and Mata Gujjar Kaur ji did kamaee for 26 years after their marriage before asking maharaj to send Guru Gobind Singh ji to their house. If one wishes to have children that are brahmgyanis or of atleast very high avastha then one has to do a lot of kamaee and that takes time thus one should be patient. However if you just want any old child then it really doesn't matter, but again that's not what our aim is in life. I'm sure many others are much more knowledgable upon this issue.
