That's an interesting question. I think simply put, it was an adoption of a word from ancient Indic literature (by whites) that was given a euro-racialised re-invention (I believe because of the fact they couldn't get their heads around nonwhites having an advanced culture before them, so it's a very early and crude form of cultural appropriation). This then took a life of it's own in their hands (and twisted imaginations).
Thank you for that answer too. It really is succinct.

Aryan or Arya (/ˈɛəriən/;[1] Indo-Iranian *arya) is a term originally used as an ethnocultural self-designation by Indo-Iranians in ancient times, in contrast to the nearby outsiders known as 'non-Aryan' (*an-arya).[2][3] In Ancient India, the term ā́rya was used by the Indo-Aryan speakers of the Vedic period as an endonym (self-designation) and in reference to a region known as Āryāvarta ('abode of the Aryas'), where the Indo-Aryan culture emerged.[4] In the Avesta scriptures, ancient Iranian peoples similarly used the term airya to designate themselves as an ethnic group, and in reference to their mythical homeland, Airyanem Waēǰō ('stretch of the Aryas').[5][6] The stem also forms the etymological source of place names such as Iran (*Aryānām) and Alania (*Aryāna-).[7]

This doesn't belong in any one thread, but been collaborating with Black Revolutionary Humanitarians a lot recently. Doing a lot of Parchar. They're asking a lot of questions about Sikhi and the world. So much I've had less time here.
They want to know more about the origins of Aryan.
Might as well get to the root of that here since the ukraines full of nazis.
What is Aryan really?

Just a quick clarification Gurjant Singh Ji that Gujjars are primarily a Punjabi and Hindi and Gojri speaking tribe whereas Gujju's is a nickname for Gujarati's (the people of the state of Gujarat that speak the Gujarati language).
Sikhs cannot blanketly be against ethnicity on the planet for no reason. Sikhi is the universal faith for all humanity.
Amen to that Veer Ji and thank you.

If we did what our parents did, send money to your families in India or start buying land houses as the Muslims do, we could get our act together.
Amen bro. Sikhs abroad could buy up all of Punjab easily, and use it as vacation property, and develop it economically, or lease it at very generous rates to Sangat.
We could focus on farmland and the water table and rivers especially.

Really a boycott could be taken to the degree that we spend one hundred percent of the money we can within the Paanth.
And whenever not buying from a Sikh, make a concerted effort to buy it from the next best person.

It's shocking how many mosques have been built in Punjab, just by this Kerala based Islamic group, never mind the hundreds more that have been re-started by Wakf board from post-47, and the new ones constructed by UP and Bihari muslims. Add to this mixture you have gujjars settling down and no doubt they will build their own. How many new Gurdwaras have Sikhs opened up in pakistan punjab, I wonder? We all the know the answer! Our kaum in Punjab needs to wake up and realize that we lost our prime agriculture land and half of our shrines on that side with an understanding of living free of them. It's basic survival instinct, and we seem to have traded it for virtue signalling and umbrella-holding pics for social media.
Kerala NGO diverts funds via J&K to build mosques in Punjab's Faridkot

Chandigarh, March 31A Kerala-based NGO, Relief and Charitable Foundation of India (RCFI), which has no unit in Punjab, has caught the eye of the security agencies over its “curious” funding of the construction of three mosques in Faridkot district.
One of the newly constructed mosques in Faridkot district.
The funds, received from persons or organisations abroad, were diverted through two residents of Baramulla in Kashmir, who reportedly supervised the construction and paid the bills. These mosques, built between 2015 and 2017, are located within 40-70 km from the Pakistan border.
A report by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs states the RCFI diverted international funds worth Rs 70 crore for the construction of mosques. The MHA had stopped the funding in August 2021, it is learnt. The Punjab Police and other security agencies had also red-flagged the matter.
There are more than 200 mosques in the border districts of Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Pathankot. Sources said many of these were built recently. Their location close to the border is also the subject of investigation. The RCFI has not responded in detail to queries made by The Tribune. One of its spokespersons, who identified himself as Salaam Ustaad confirmed the organisation had no unit in Punjab. He claimed a detailed reply to the allegations had already been sent to the MHA. He insisted the RCFI indulged in social work which was suffering due to the “arbitrary ban” on international funding imposed by the Union Government.
The RCFI website says it is a certified non-denominational organisation founded in 2000, with the mission to uplift the socio-cultural aspects of backward sections at the grass-roots level.
It does not mention the construction of mosques as its mandate. It claims, “The genesis of the RCFI is to improve the quality of life for the most marginalised communities. The organisation has directly reached almost 2.35 million people in 24 states with the support of national and international funding agencies and individual private donors. It works in diverse fields from water and sanitation to health, sustainable measures to support livelihood and disaster risk reduction and response, cultural restoration to school improvement, and family food security to individual special care programme.”
Wonder what would come out the bread used to build them if you squeezed it?

Oh Tasker is an android app that does ..too many crazy things to count, but one of the upsides is I noticed it autoskips youtube ads just a few seconds in, not even the full five.
It's under $4. There are a million tutorials on how to automate and customize and script your phone.
This feature did not persist. I would have to use a script to do that. Not sure how it worked at first. It was a fluke. Tasker still is really cool. Super powerful.

Ofcom suspends KTV’s licence following serious breach of broadcasting rules
Ofcom has today suspended Khalsa Television Limited’s licence (PDF, 279.9 KB) to broadcast after an investigation found the KTV channel in breach of broadcasting rules (PDF, 695.9 KB).
The KTV television channel broadcasts to the Sikh community in the United Kingdom. Our investigation found that Prime Time, a 95-minute live discussion programme, included material likely to incite violence.
The presenter of the programme made a number of statements throughout the programme which, taken together, promoted violent action, including murder, as an acceptable and necessary form of action to further the Khalistani cause. This was a serious breach of our rules on incitement of crime and disorder.
Given the serious nature of this breach, and for the reasons set out in our suspension notice, we are today suspending Khalsa Television Limited’s licence to broadcast in the UK with immediate effect.
Khalsa Television Limited now has 21 days in which to make representations to Ofcom. Following this process, we will decide whether to revoke Khalsa Television Limited’s licence.
Feeling black yet?

3 hours ago, Premi5 said:“Sikh community are shocked” at OfCom TV channel removal based on “three complaints”
April 1, 2022/in News /
Several Sikh orgs have spoken about community shock after UK based Sikh television channel KTV Global was removed from broadcast for promoting a “pro-Khalistan cause” which has been viewed as supporting “terrorism”.
The decision was made by UK TV regulatory body Ofcom yesterday (31st March) after an alleged investigation found a KTV live discussion show on 30th December 2021 was in breach of broadcasting Rule 3.1 of their Broadcasting Code (Incitement to Crime and Disorder).
KTV released a statement claiming the allegations and decision to remove the channel were “scrutinised without context or cultural understanding”, whilst also emphasising their intention to appeal the decision. KTV, which is considered popular among British Sikhs aged 50+, have also highlighted how their elderly viewership will be left without support for their “spiritual needs” due to the removal. KTV broadcast the Sikh nitnem (daily prayers) which many viewers will play and follow at home as part of their spiritual meditation/prayer routine.
The 33 page Ofcom report (with a further 50 pages of transcript) on the decision stated they received just three complaints about the Prime Time live discussion show which led to the decision to remove the entire channel. However, the regulatory body have been open about their view that the support for and discussion around Khalistan (a movement for a free Sikh homeland in India) on the show was equivalent to supporting “violent action” terrorism. The content objected to was largely speech from popular presenter Jagjit Singh Jeeta on Khalistan over the course of the 95minute broadcast.
