  1. OMG OMG OMGOM OMGOIH OAIHDFO:IH!!!!!!! THIS JUST MADE MY DDAY!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYA WOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
  2. Just wanna point out that you don't get back problems from bad posture, it just aggravates you if you already have back problems. Still, having good posture is good for other reasons, so not trying to discourage you of course
  3. Because now my name is in ਪੰਜਾਬੀ!!! how cool? lol hahahaaha So what's the replacement? And who gives the "word on the street"?? hahahah
  4. OMG!! I know somebody has ALL the keertan from there, so UPLOAD IT! PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEE Maaaaaaan, I never got a chance to go there enough, but they had sweeet stuff on there, and i kept telling myself that I should check it out more often, now I can't :umm: Anybody know who ran the site? I gotta talk to this guy...
  5. Anybody have any links to where I could find the works of Bhai Nand Lal Goya online? Or even somewhere that I can buy a book online?
  6. "Open the doors of the windows and let the climate come in." "It burns then it.... falls, falls, falls...." -He couldn't remember the word for ashes... he made funny hand movements, too I gotta ask my dad, he's got all these funny remarks his teachers have made to him over the years, lol.
  7. Whoa, what? I know this guy that cut his hair, and within 24 hours he regretted it so much, you're saying he could never become a Sikh again? Well, he did. You shouldn't take it off, I agree with that, but saying that if you make a mistake and you can't ever correct it is wrong.
  8. We Are NOT Broadcasting LIVE Yet. We will be broadcasting from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 04:30 am to 09:30 am (EST) on July 3, 2006 :|
  9. What have you said in this thread so far that you tried to teach me? When you say something that is right, I listen (for example the Baarah Maahaa), but when I say something right, you don't listen. When have you ever on this site given in to somebody elses views that you initially didn't agree with? I do look both ways when I go on the street. I have, by influence of not just you, but others too, started to wake up at amrit vela. I do try to learn things, which is why I came to this site. What do you mean by: "You'll quit learning and let others give you info" ? What do you mean by learning then? Your input is not always right... what makes you such a genius? I don't have chat sessions, what are you referring to? It wouldn't be a waste of time if you had good information to give. Are you saying I'm a fool? How? Or are you telling me to stop arguing with you, because you're a fool and don't want me to become one?
  10. Or Guru Nanak Dev Ji; he learned from people of all religions.
  11. Guess that wasn't you, like I said it might not be... But still, I don't have a problem with people writing lol, because we all know what lol means, but "your" means soemthing other than "you're" okay? He never said you were doing it for ego purposes, he said if you're doing it for ego purposes... I think you got butt hurt, not us; why do I care if you keep doing this thread? Like I said, I'm just trying to help you out :| Ummm.... I know that Guru is not God... when did I argue that in this thread at all? Even in the other thread, like I pointed out, I said LIKE God. I don't choose which threads stay. I said: We weren't trying to... The picture interrupted the simran... what do you mean by "how?"??? ... ... ... Okay, fine, your thread, make the rules so that you can break all of them... So why'd you flip on Bhajneet? You only got mad when somebody tried to stop it. You don't care if it gets interrupted, so don't argue that. We're not "butt hurt" ... I don't even know you, but as far as I do, nothing you say matters to me anymore... It's all filled in with crap. So answer this question for me, though. When I say things like, "It might not be you" why do you flip??? I said that it MIGHT NOT BE YOU. You for some reason still take it personally...
  12. Jeez, Pritam... "ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸੋ ਜੀਵੈ" Your picture says that, so you interupted the simran before him. And before you Akhoza interupted by saying: "Im not gonna try to beat that" Yet you never replied to that... Where did Bhajneet show ego? You have nothing to support your argument... Same with "your weak," no argument. And I mean c'mon, first you say that kids these days don't know how to type, then YOU use incorrect grammar. Supposed to be "you're," "your" is posessive, as in, "Pritam, your English is weak." Or was that somebody else that was complaining that? Whatever, your English was still weak. And dude, I agree. Stop this thread. It's obvious that you're copying and pasting... who cares??? Jeez! Just do simran like normal. I can't force you to stop, I don't really care; we're looking out for you guys :| It's pointless.
  13. 1) We could argue that until our deaths... 2) ... ... ... so what? Who in the world is your cousin? What makes whatever he/she does so perfectly right? lol 3) I get what you mean, but I want to point out that medicines contain a minimum of alcohol--you would like die before you got drunk of that crap... 4) I agree 5) Again, I agree :| flipping awesome.
  14. Personally, I say wear a dhumalla... always. No kid stuff, ever.
  15. How does that work? Why couldn't it be interpreted as the darkness that kills all the light? I know we wouldn't want to see it that way, duh, but it's weird... and the title of teacher/master is quite adequate I think. How're we supposed to know which definition is right?? Aaaah!
  16. So we had a children's program today, like I said (we have it the last friday of the month). It ended up being two kids who (sorry to say) weren't really prepared and me... The bhai sahib ended up doing keertan for about 45 minutes to an hour, so it started making me think. What should we do?? I thought the idea like I said before of having more children's programs to encourage them would be good (though they have to be more organized than today), but what else can we do? Anybody have a suggestion? It annoys me a bit, because I know kids could do it, but they're all out having fun; 5 or 6 kids walked in after ardaas was over... lame.
  17. Just use a good mp3 recorder... There are tons of them, I don't know which one to tell you to get. Personally I use the iRiver iHP-140, but they don't make it now (though it's better than the new one, which is the 340). iAudio X5 is awesome, too. Archos AV 500 is good, but more expensive, but it has 100GB and can use a mini-cam (which also is expensive, though....) to record video :| Those are just some possibilities. Taking into thought the price, capacity, quality, etc, of those three I'd choose the X5. Oh, and use a good external mike. I use a Sony one.
  18. It's all about conditioning; keep the same sleep schedule every day and you won't feel tired. Like Pritam Singh said, when you sleep in on the weekends you feel more tired, in fact.
  19. :| Depends on how much keertan you listen to Hahaha, really I run out on a 40GB, and I don't use lossless on my mp3 player In fact, I'd like to upgrade to the 80GB sometime lol
  20. Not doubting what you said, just wondering: When did Guru Teg Bahadur say that?
  21. For the committee I mean committee for things they could understand; for example, gurudwara cleaning and upkeeping.
  22. I'd go for latest generation; I don't know much about it, but usually the latest stuff is the best :| Not always, but since that's what most people get, that's what's got the best mods, etc. Best sound quality is obviously any lossless codec. After that it all depends on how much the codec can compress it, so that you can fit the most songs. I think FLAC is the best, but it's not supported on many things (unless you get rockbox  it's awesome), which is why I suggested the iAudio X5, which does support it. If something isn't lossless already, however, it'd be pointless to use a lossless codec to encode it, so unless it's something I'm ripping directly from a CD or some other high-quality source, I would encode as mp3. Always encode VBR (variable bitrate--saves space). I think 192 kbps is a good rate, but for lower quality (such as converted tapes) I would go no higher than 128. CNET has good reviews, you can check them for the iPod 30GB problems. I researched the Zen a while back, I think it's fairly good, but there are a bunch of models, which one are you referring to? Overall, the ones I posted before are better, in my opinion, but it depends on exactly what you need (ex: HD space, sound quality, recording, radio) Let me know what you're looking for and I can help you out more.
  23. To "kurtas": I think it's more like if you don't think it's a good thing, why would you want to be associated with it. Or am I wrong? Then could somebody explain why you guys think it's wrong to just place it on shelves, etc, if it's packed? I don't get it
  24. One thing is to have gurudwara programs more regularly (like daily, not just the weekend). But more importantly, let kids do stuff, too... in our gurudwara, kids do keertan on the last friday of the month, but I don't think that's enough. And we should be allowed to be on the committee--don't push us out. Kids see things with a more clear mind sometimes, and we can come to decisions faster; don't argue for soo long on topics that don't matter! We don't like just going places to sit, especially if we don't know what's going on. And by letting us do things, we would get more into it, and eventually take an interest. I try to do stuff in my gurudwara, but, first of all we don't have enough things to do, and second of all, the things to do are all jobs for like a single person--doesn't allow too many people to get involved.
  25. I'm sure you can talk it out with your manager and explain to him; there are so many jobs to do at a supermarket, there must be something you could do that doesn't make you have to work with alcohol/meat.
