  4. WJKK WJKF I am a little upset with some of the comments made by my fellow Singh's. We have a brother who would like some tips regarding how his dhari should be tied and kept comfortable for work. On the other hand we have other brothers who have mentioned the word 'messy'. London001 did not mention that his dhari was messy at all. In society today we have so many problems with youth cutting their hair and dhari's. Is it really a good idea to tell people that if they think their dhari is 'messy' then they should consider why they keep their dhari? Are we here to encourage our Sikh brothers and sisters to stop beadbi of their kesh or discourage them because they shouldn't tie their dhari's????? Please think before we start hurting the feelings of our brothers and sisters! Phul Chuk Maaf
  5. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!

    :)

  7. Its a shame the quality is poor in places. Any chance of uploading it again in better quality?
  8. Fateh Ji, I'm from Bedford and I also go to Bedford Uni. I don't know of any youth programmes that happen regularly in Bedford although Guru Nanak Gurdwara does provide sikh classes etc every week. Please let me know if you need any more help.
  9. why not name and shame the members who have dissed the youth?
  10. best thing to do is inform people like the charity commission or local government. Once they hear of unrest in the community they fund they will want to investigate. Don't forget that most gurdwaras are claiming money from governement on the name of sikh youth (punjabi class).
  11. why not have a tournament where various ragi do kirtan in raag. Every mistake means a point deduction and the sangat votes for their best ragi on the day along with the view of professional judges. Could be fun, or not! LOL
  12. well the committee just wants to spend the minimum on the gurdwara. They'll only do something unless its really needed. I can't see someone reversing into this area, looks more like a truck driven at a high speed. Let us know once the buildings fixed folks.
  13. I'm waiting to here of these stories. I can't believe that Singh Sabha Southall (the head office of sikhs in England) is so corrupt! However, as all gurdwara i no that it has its fair share of trouble. If there is some kind of discrimination against youth then make the public aware my brothers and sisters.
  14. That leads us back to my earlier comment that the committee members need to sort themselves out rather than picking on the youth. I think the term 'sikhi begins @ home' is quite good. Think about it, if our parents all sat us down when they do path, let us take amrit when ready and encouraged us to live the sikh way we won't have any problems with youth not going to gurdwaras because they don't understand whats going on. Also i keep reading about 'youth getting arrested by committees' please add past experiances that you know of.
