  1. Sikh Lesbian Marriages http://www.ibnlive.com/news/lesbian-marria...ed/44151-3.html Batala (Punjab): A 'marriage' between two girls near this Punjab town went terribly wrong on Thursday with the 'boy' in the relationship slitting her wrists in an attempted suicide bid, but ending up being booked by the police. The 'drama' of this lesbian marriage — the second one to be highlighted in Punjab — unfolded on Thursday in the court of the sub-divisional magistrate when Rajwinder Kaur — the 'girl' in the marriage — gave a statement that she no longer wanted to live with the 'boy', Baljit Kaur. Rajwinder and Baljit, belonging to Hassanpur Khurd and Hassanpur Kalan villages respectively, had run away from their homes last month and had secretly married on June 3. They disclosed their marriage on June 13 and started living together in Patiala. Pressure started to build on both the girls to separate, especially from the family of Rajwinder. Rajwinder's family brought her back from Patiala and produced her before the SDM after lodging a complaint against Baljit for cheating her. After Rajwinder recorded her statement, Baljit got hysterical and ran outside the courtroom and slit her wrists to protest the separation. Alert policemen in the court complex caught hold of Baljit and gave her first aid. She was rushed to a nearby government hospital for treatment. Baljit was later booked by the Batala police for attempted suicide. District police chief R Dhoke said Baljit was recovering from her suicide bid and had been booked. The SDM had earlier asked the families of the two girls to take them back to their respective homes. Baljit said Rajwinder had been forced to give statements against her under pressure from her family. "We are totally in love," she screamed. Rajwinder's family members alleged that Baljit, who used to dress like men, had hoodwinked their daughter into this 'unholy' alliance by promising to take her to Canada. "She was cheated to get into this relationship by the promise of going to Canada," Rajwinder's father Bir Singh said. Police officials said they were investigating all angles of this 'unique' case. Another lesbian marriage between two girls in Amritsar city, 60 km from here, had ended earlier this year after two-and-a-half years of the marriage. This just show's that not all marriages last forever.... :sady:
  2. Mods, I prefered it when these were separate posts. BTW, the topic title isn't mine! Mine was much more colorful!

  5. I wish them all the best in their marriage.
  6. This Singhni will most probably die in prison if she receives the expected life sentence. I can't say I am sorry though, she deserves to die behind bars. She better get use to eating porridge in the morning cause she aint gonna get any aloo vale paronteh anymore. Being critical, why was the girl married off when she was just 16. Don't her parents have some level of responsibility in this?
  7. It is annoying, I agree, it reflects your personality well. Its good to see that its annoying all the right people.
  8. Because bibi Singhstah you are paranoid!
  9. Sad to hear this, I use to know his daughter. I left Gravesend a while back and it has been going down hill since. If your living in Gravesend then leave while the property market is still hot. All the scum who now can't afford to live in $hit holes such as east london and ilford are making their way down the estuary to places such as Gravesend. Gravesend use to be a nice town.
  10. Life's too short, leave, you won't regret it! Best of luck :TH:
  11. How annoying is my new avatar!!
  12. Singhstah, you know you need to keep taking those pills the doctor gave you otherwise your paranioa starts to kick in.
  13. The last few years I have noticed that certain activities in the langar hall is now become the sole domain of Amritdhari’s. Activities such as preparation of the langar food, (from washing, chopping and cooking of food) to serving Amritdhari’s. Is the Khalsa turning into a club for the new elite?
  14. Would it be the material that swords are made of, or sabloh?? I'm thinking swords are made from tempered steel?
  15. How about after cleaning it, getting it gold plated??, (I'd prefer silver plated - it's naturally anti-bacterial and has health benefits, plus it won't rust). But hey I could be wrong about this
  16. fair enough. just because you dont talk much, doesnt mean you are a snob....might just be quiet by nature this is the point. there are no rich upper classes and 'low' working classes. once you come to the langar, all of this is eliminated. repeated from previous post: gaalhee al palaaleeaa ka(n)m n aavehi mith ||1|| Useless talk and babbling is useless, my friend. ||1|| a further example: gaalhee biaa vikaar naanak dhhanee vihooneeaa ||1|| Other talk is corrupt, O Nanak, except that of the Lord Master. ||1|| yet another: ghatt parachaa kee baath nirodhhahu || Refrain from that talk which attracts the heart. and.... bak bak vaadh chalaaeiaa bin naavai bikh jaan ||1|| Talking too much, one only starts arguments. Without the Name, everything is poison - know this well. ||1|| please read the following: http://www.sikhitothemax.com/results.asp?T...571,37442,56663 maybe Guru Sahib just wants to say we all come from the same place: man thoo(n) joth saroop hai aapanaa mool pashhaan || O my mind, you are the embodiment of the Divine Light - recognize your own origin. sorry if i have taken the Gurbani out of context or if i have quoted you out of context that was not my intention, let me know if this is the case. bhul chuk maaf waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh!! To all the forum readers, If in the langar hall someone you don't like the look of, or you think is a bit beneath you in the social status, sits next to you then to prevent yourself from interacting with them, just start repeating VaheGuru..VaheGuru. This has two advantages. You don't talk to that pikey. You make yourself look religious amonst the langar hall sangat. Then after you finished your langar you can leave the hall without even having interacted with that pikey not knowing that in fact he is the same as you and you could of made a good friendship there. Oh well at least you looked poius in front of the other people.
  17. Or you just don't want to talk to the pikey who decided to sit next to you.
  18. For that post I wouldn’t describe it as valid but more as thought provoking.
  19. parshaad is also sweet...and pleasures my tongue is that worse than eating meat aswell? Are you trying to say it's OK to pleasure the tongue???
  20. I disagree. When the Guru's established the institution of Langar, I believe they wanted the different social classes to talk and get to know each other. When most normal civilised cultured people of the world sit together for a meal, they don't do so in silence, but they have a meal in a social setting were the participants interact with each other and find out how they are feeling and getting on in life, etc, etc. I believe the same applies for Lanagr, were there is a situation were the upper richer classes can get to know how the lower working classes are getting on. Langar is there in a way to combat snobbishness. This does not work when you don't interact with people from different social strata.
  21. Reht Maryada Chapter XI Article XVIII (g) Consulting horoscopes for determining which day or date is auspicious, or otherwise for fixing the day of the marriage, is a sacrilege. Anyone who believes in horoscopes is a <banned word filter activated> and not a Sikh. Only the weak willed, easily deluded, uneducated, and unscientific mind believes in horoscopes. I want to thank certain members of this forum for exposing themselves in having these attributes.
  22. Cake is million times worse than meat. Cake just an object to pleasue the tongue. Do you eat to live, or live to eat?
