I will try IF she listens, she doesnt listen to me, in thru one ear and out the other....shes going crazy and becoming more and more acustomed to hindu rituals and its embarassing me as I keep my turban as a crown. I have told my wife that she needs to be taught about Sikhi and stuff, I did talk to my sis in law tactfully but she too much engrossed in the rituals.

Now I am beginning to get a sense that my sis in law does'nt know her own identity. She observed and did the fast of Hindus, and now she sent me a text for happy dushera, I sent her a text back with Happy Gurpurub of Guru Ram Das ji! She is loosing her marbles, and at one point at my friends house I said are you eating she goes no and I said why, she goes shes fasting and cant eat onion and garlic and some other stuff and cant touch what we have eat, and in front of my friends she embarassed me as she is a Sikh. I respect everyones believe but to go to that length what she does is beyond me, what advice would you give and what can I do? She rarely listens and doesnt listen to her own sister, my wife. I have told my wife there is no room for rituals or fasting, she doesnt do it anyway...Guru Jis messages is simple, eat and live simple.

What the truth is you observe everything but you dont let negative thoughts come in that can break you from Sikhi, you watch Tv for fun, ideas and knowledge, but you dont let it break your Sikhi, thats the truth vjkk vjkf kali and the others saying dancing is wrong are actually CORRECT. yes dancing is manmat because we're following our own mat when doing things. i knew u would bring school etc into this. NO going school is not manmat. evryone needs an education. in order to give daswand-- which gurujee told us ALL to do.... how can u give daswand if u have no job cuz u cant even speak properly????? nice to hear about ur father ji..... but no need to bring his spiritualitly into this. as far as the tv comments come in......... depends what u watch. if u sit there all day watching crappy shows.... ofcourse thats afeftcing ur sikhi----- its all maya.... .... however if u LISTEN TO AMRITBAni radio or any other radios that have 24/7 bani-- im sure u will feel wayyyy better because its BANI. just to add--- yes sikhi in this modern world can be hard...BUT not if u feel vaheguroo with u 24/7! im sorry if i dont make sense... but you said u need to look after family etc-- yes thats true...... that doesnt make DANCING acceptable!! that doesnt mean we start acting like everyone around us. of our friends etc dance doesnt mean we should!!! we should never forget our sikhi. SIKHI COMES FIRST.... and dancing has got nufin to do with it. sorry for my rant VJKK VJKF What you need to understand is that father sahib watches TV but doesnt let it effect him in any shape or form, its his nature, I am saying do your bani be spiritual, if you like watching TV do it, watch cartoons watch everything (no I dont mean dirty movies or porn), its not going effect your sikhi is it? Only if you let it. Listening and doing are totally different things, if you listen and dont act then you wont feel good, if you listen to it and take in the bani and realise the fruitfulness of it, then yes it is good for you. Do everything, go watch TV, go with your friends, go to party, but you dont have to participate in dancing if you dont want to, but remain focussed on your sikhi, I know a few who are very high spirited and still remain normal under the circumstances Anyway dancing isnt necessarily a bad thing or a good thing, if you like dancing and shaking the weight off do it, as long as it doesnt effect your mind in to other things (MY OPINION). As per bani, if you do dancing for sexual pleasure or for awful thoughts then that completely wrong. Erm anyone for dirty dancing? lol (JOKING)

This isn't just my thinking its also baba harnam singh (rumpurkhera wala), Sant Narajin singh and so many other saint's thinking. Baba Harnam singh said Guru Ji disapproves of his sikhs watching tv/movies and sant narajan singh said God fearing people don't watch dramas/movies, dance and some other stuff. Did you know, gurbani tells us if we have even one interest at all in Maya when we die we have to be reborn. No one is allowed in saackhand with an attachment to maya. Sikhi is the highest and hardest religion to practice. It's similar to buddhism but harder. Oh yeh and I don't watch tv/movies. also, listening to radio programmes as long as it is news is fine. but let me guess what you're going to say now: news is maya too, lol - just make yourself sound stupid and say that. I want a place in saachkhand so I'd rather attach myself to gurbani and naam just like sant jarnail singh, baba deep singh, bhai sahib randhir singh, shaheed bhai fauja singh and countless others have done. OK. You can say what you like now, I aint gonna continue with this. Hmmmmm, you have got a lot to learn.......I bet you watch Tv shows, listen to radio, going to school is manmat too isnt, cos teacher feed you with fake stories.....listen, the way you are thinking and doing is totally offensive to the modern world....if you dont watch TV or read newspaper...you wont get the knowledge.....so now you are telling me I sound stupid....mate lock urself in a dark cellar and concentrate on NAAM for the rest of ur life, now lets test your theory. Yes I can help! Use the SMART framework, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed. Research on the internet and write down the goals you want to achieve, however they got to be realistic too. You also need to read the book called 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne. Nothing in life is impossible, it is because our THOUGHT to where we are now, some are doctors, some are lawyers, some are spiritual, some people even put others in the space, some people developed rockets, nothing is hard to achieve...think positive, think the things you are good at, put them down have a brain storming session on paper and right the qualities you have, and then from there on, go to an advisor, a careers advisor and then he may be able to match you up with some vacancies or educational advice. You have prospects of marriage, again its your THOUGHTS that are blocking you from this, go to gurdwara, and take a hukamnama from Guru ji about marriage. A degree, get off that sofa and apply for a degree, a foundation degree, something you will enjoy, no good in saying I aint got a degree, get one, achieve it, the opportunities are out there, go for it, the world is your oyster, only then you will succeed, if you have negative thoughts, then you going to be depressed...and believe me I been thru it, and it doesnt help. ..and on top of it....we believe GOD will help....he will help you and guide, but you have to take the Intiative to help yourself, forget those negative thoughts, they not worth it, put them to rest, get that arrow out like Guru Gobind Singh Ji and aim at those negative thoughts, trust in Guru Ji....he won all the battles, now you can win the battle with being negative. Again I like to quote Bob Proctor " If you have a thought, you can hold it in your hand, If you make that thought dominant, you can bring it to life" Go for it, chak de phate Singha! Nothing is holding you back, no one has your permission to hurt in life.

Mate tying your dhari or keeping open wont get you a job, this is your THOUGHT and no one elses and if you let these things dominate your mind you wont get anywhere....your interview and intellectual skills will do the justice.....don't think negative, because negative will happen, think positive and think Guru ji and get out there and start looking for a job before I throw a chappal on you LOL A quote from Bob Proctor "If you have a thought, you can hold it in your hand, if you make that thought dominant you will bring it to life" and this is the same advice I would give you, don't hide behind religious opinions! ok now wheter i y point of view is different. i like this post because atleast she think what she said. not just yelling and proving herself gurmukh and others manmukh. thanks Theres one thing that I've heard so many say, and it makes me laugh everytime: Guru Nanak talked to everyone whether manmukh or not so we should too. ACtually Guru Nanak stayed in religious company, whether muslim or hindu, as long as they were religious. He even kept a bata which only he and his sikhs used, not muslims or hindus. Now, when Guru Nanak stayed in bad company, he was especially in that company to liberate them, as they had a good previous life. But one mistake led them to becomin sinners in their next life, eg kunda rakhas, was a religious man in his previous life until making a wrong move which caused someone to curse him. Another thing, GURU NANAK HAD ALREADY BECOME GURMUKH SO HE WOULD OBVIOUSLY BE UNEFFECTED BY MANMUKH COMPANY!! There comes a stage where one is uneffected by manmukh company. Here's a line from gurbani tellings us lower level beings to stay away from manmukhs: BTW: sakhat means worldly people/people who worship maya. Every manmukh worships maya. har saakath saethee sa(n)g n kareeahu oue maarae sirajanehaarae || O Lord, let me not be in the company of the faithless cynic, who is cursed by the Creator Lord. another: thae saakath chor jinaa naam visaariaa man thin kai nikatt n bhitteeai ||4|| Such faithless cynics, who have forgotten the Naam, are thieves. O my mind, do not even go near them. ||4|| another: har kae dhaas sio saakath nehee sa(n)g || The Lord's servant does not associate with the faithless cynic. Theres another shabad line which Kabeer ji says to run far away from the faithless cynic, he also says that before becoming a saint their company destroyed him. Bhai Gurdaas ji says: bhalaa buraa dhue sa(n)g subhaaeae ||14|| Because of the nature of the company kept, one becomes good or bad.(14) Remember that his bani is meant to be the key to understanding Sri Guru Granth SAHib ji. Also, singh-khalsa, you don't understand the wrong in bhangra, due to your mind state. If you bring it up to a higher level of consciousness then you will literally be able to feel the negativity and how filthy it is. Lastly, I mentioned rape and other major sins because when we keep on indulging in minor-maya (dancing, movies, video games etc) up to sin-maya, again and again in other lives, we gradually increase sin and our mind state becomes animal-like and we become rapists. The smallest of maya will attach us to more pleasurable mayas until we become rapists or killers. I could give you an example of someones previous life where he was a religious man until one mistake and whats he's become now but I can't. Word of advice singh.....Calm down. Let me ask you a question, Do you watch TV? Do you listen to radio programmes? If you do they are manmat as per your thinking? Don't watch it you may not get a place in Sachkand!

Dear sisters and brothers Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Please can you help me. I need to do a 15-20 minute presentation on Ghandi, and to present to around 6 people, basically it needs to be interactive activity presentation and focus in getting the audience interacted and making it fun....I have the use of flip chart, wipe board and powerpoint. Please if you can help to give me ideas, ideally PM me and I would be grateful for this seva. Please admin don't move this in any other section as I need help asap. There is alot more to it than keeping hair...Sikhi is a narrow path and only a handful in the world achieve SACHKHAND and its not easy as ABC to merge with lord.....you need to have avasta like Baba Nand Singh Ji to reach such a place. As mentioned in my post...read again... It is easy as ABC to merge into god...JUST simply LOVE him...thats all... LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM.. Yes true, but thats the hardest part for many of us! Hence difficult!
