I'd like to say...that this is a hard topic to make ones mmind up about...cos in the last week i've found some of my muslim accuaintances have become good 'friends' obviously i'll be on my guard with them - cos you don't know who you can trust in these troubled times, but i feel that you - like some people have said, cant always generalise...not just with muslims; but with hindus as well...i heard that as well as Sikhs fighting for Khalistan there were some genuine Hindus who fought and some died...I hear...

Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbatt Da Bhalla Yes all religion/scriptures are from God. We Sikhs are the only religion that beleives we are not the only way to God. All other religions want to "save" you or convert you so you can add more numbers to there religion. They all think that God only is within their way of life. God is truth. God is righteousness. Religion is just an order, the righteousness factor must come in to play for you to be a true Godly person. No religion makes you righteous, God makes you righteous. If you fall off track then you start to mend evil ways and lose out. The religions only help you to realize God. Any religion can have people that dont seriously think/meditate on God and they are the ones who lose their lives in a gamble. You are either religious or not there is no half way. (Its like turning on a radio, you can either hear it or not, its either barely on enough to hear it or the volume is off and you cant hear any of the radio) When you worry about someone elses religion then you forgot your own(in any religion) You can give advice from your religion but saying they have to be a Sikh etc is simply not true. A Sikh is a Sikh and there is no placing someone in the place of a Sikh unless they are a Sikh. Muslims say they are the only way, Christians say they are the only way, hindus think they are the only way etc. I think of it as this: Jesus was their Guru. Mohamed was their Guru. Guru Nanak-Guru Gobind Singh-Guru Granth Sahib is our Guru and nobody can be without a Guru and understand God. I think Guru Nanak Dev Ji had the simplest most thorough and enlightening revelations and messages towards mankind that werent so shrouded in parables and metaphors even though we also have the intricate Shabads also. Sikhi is truelly a religion of peace, its only the insane man that throws out peace and bickers amongst us humans. Even some Sikhs have become like people from other religions, they arent openminded/caring/or good Sikhs. So we cant just say muslims bicker amongst or christians bicker amongst. Just be the one who doesnt bicker. Have the grace of the Guru and you can never lose even if you are struck dead in an instant. Either plug yourself into God or go get recycled while you sit in a junkyard without Naam. Do you mean something like what Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrenwale said?; something like; Sikhs should be proper Sikhs, Muslims proper muslims and Hindus proper Hindus?- Becasue they are ways to God but different in how you meet God?

This is not aimed at any one person...But can we please stop, making references to Black people as they are not referred to as being of another religion like Muslims...There are hundreds of Black Sikhs around the world and I believe a few of them are contributors to Sikhnet.com...So think please think carefully about what you're writing :wub: p.s I am sure that the black people you are refering to are probably non-sikh thugs but please be mindful of other peoples' feelings!

Also this 18 million pound Gurudwara that was built under Sohi...is it not the same Gurudwara where money is still being spent on repairs!!!! It may as well just have been built, how can it need reapirs???- espeacially after having 8million pounds more than what was needed to be spent I may be young but I can count...

I'm sorry but speaking with decorum doesn't hide the truth on matters; defeat is not even relevant anymore; it's too late for democratic voting systems which are about as corrupt as voting systems in 'bharat mahan' whats the point in arguing over it? BOTH the parties are as bad as eachother whether Sohi wins or Mali- its doesnt matter - facts and witnesses show that the current party is getting the sangat nowhere there needs to be a change for the BETTER i'm sure 'true Khalsa' ji has heard of this word before- and must realise that there is no betterment of the Sangat under Sohi while his party is in power; the only betterment applies to Sohi himself :wub:

i was wondering...I've been living in Surrey, Uk for about 5/6 yrs now and living here i came to notice (as u do) that their arent many sikhs in the area - i live like, at the edge of surrey, hampshire- and if you do see sikhs they don't practice and are very englandified (made that word up) - I just wanted to know ARE there any in the area, if so, wanna meet? what the heck? How do you KNOW that by making this prayer you will be 'saved' is it simply by believing in Jesus Christ that one can meet Akal Purakh? Did Waheguru Ji actually come to you and tell you that if you do this you will go to 'heaven'? Believing in the Gurus and being a Sikh are two different things; it doesn't take much for someone to believe in the guru's there's loads of proof of their existence; but really believing in the Gurus and what they taught is different; by the Gurus teachings I dont think that you can be a Hindu and a Sikh at the same time... What if you are a Hindu but are only voting because you are a close friend of a member of a Party or you may be payed to vote? yeh i must admit that Sikhs are hardly ever on TV or in Movies and when they are they are either portrayed as buffoons, are under the typical stereotype of every Asian with a 'butt butt' accent and in a corner shop or they pray to idols and pictures of the Guru's; actually matt tekhing the pictures and stuff...This is probably why majority of non-sikhs feel we are a hindu-sect or something and/or are Muslims...Why cant we just be Sikhs?
