  1. na not belna! chappal's what really hurts...stings like a ....
  2. My dad has a thing about Muslims...(not to be rude of anything) erm, he says that they can't be trusted that even Guru Gobind Singh Ji said that..He always tells this story of Guru Ji putting his arm into some sesame seeds and loads got stuck to it and Guru Ji said that the amount of seeds stuck to his hand shows the amount f lies a Muslim has told or will tell...I have no idea where he got that from. But when I say that he had many Muslims fighting in his army and singing for him or writing for him'; he says 'they weren't real muslims' and he also says that Sikhs aren't supposed to even look at a Muslim in any kind of 'that way' manner whatsoever...He says its a huge sin...but i'm still confused and i'd appreciate any kind of input into this topic because my dad has a thing about always being right no matter what and there's no way of him backing things up by fact etc. if you get my meaning...please help!!!
  3. sister i know EXACTLY how you feel...I am in the exact same position as you...but i find to deal with stresses and those awkward situations where you know that you're right and they know that they're wrong; the best thing to do is naam jappo in your head as you carry on in the day - like a meditation...things seem a lot more clearer and you feel a lot more better... goin along with the family to keep peace is what i think about doing sometimes but i find that if i feel deep down that i am 100% certain of being right; then i shouldn't back down and i back up my view with sound explanations... and i sometimes think maybe it rubs off on them and SOMETHING from that conversation has stuck  hope that helps at all...if you dont get me let me know lol
  4. Ji not to be rude or anything-and please tell me if you feel i am...but why do you feel this way?...just out of total curiosity?
  5. but what do oranges have to do with fasting to death eh?
  6. omg...these fags crack me up and...doesnt Santhara mean orange in one way??? i dont get it...is this hinduism??? whats the meanin of this fasting?? I thought Santhara meant orange as well!!!!! It's ok, so i'm not the only one
  7. Could never have put it better myself! Great insite bhenji!
  8. Sikhi also doesn't allow fasting because it doesn't make you any closer to Akal Purakh and is not practical...has no real purpose...doesn't really help you attain anything spiritually...cept death
  9. u'r right actually...we always suffer because we've never been prepared; we have to be on our gaurd and STICK TOGETHER when things happen...the sangat has a thing about cowardice when problems crop up ( excluding all those brave fighters and marytr's who fight/fought til the end that is)...but that's a minority..and through histoy it's mostly been the youths who take a stand.. "The sikhs of Uganda & afghanistan didn't ever think anything was gonna happen...but when it did, it happended in a flash"
  10. referring to "Khalsaforce's" recent reply...U say that maybe Akal Purakh wanted things this way however, if we applied that theory to everything in life, where would we be? I can understand no being able to change things but that shouldn't stop us from trying should it? It shouln't stop us from trying to get Khalistan or doing similar things should it? If people just said that 'it's all in Gods will' they wouldn't do anything! From putting clothes their on to fighting oppression and lots more! Bhul Chukk Maaf
  11. WAHEGURU WAHEGURU WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH! SUCH WORDS...IRONICALLY I HAVE NOO MORE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE GREATNESS OFTHIS POEM...
  12. Maharajs horse was blue, hence the name Neela. it was one of a kind. erm blue? my dog was called blue - that was cos he was black and brown with shades of blue in- almost...like a magpie...but he werent blue. and i always hear or read that he had a white horse or black horse...never heard about blue.. @ anyhoo does any1 know where u can get these animations in the UK? it wud b interesting to see them... :T: Bhul chukk Maaf
  13. I completely agree; soon there will b no place in the West for any asians remotely resembling a muslim i.e wear a turban , brown skin etc. These terrorists will give the gov's no choice but to kick us all out...anyone seen V for Vendetta?- it'll happen similarly to that... And then where will Sikh's go? This is another reason why we need Khalistan people! Khalistan Zindabad!
  14. Yeh I also with agree this, I have found that there are a few set-backs for being a girl- outside my immediate family-say if an aunty has disagreed with something my mum has said or visa-versa- that aunty wont chat to me or give me evils  -which i believe is because i'm my mothers daughter- that same aunty might go up to my bro's and give them great big hugs and kisses etc. Also when i was born my dad was told not give out sweets because "its only a girl- what's the big deal"-quote. But he did so anyways  ..But i s'pose things ARE changing in the west a bit more than they are back home. I mean i constantly hear about the number of abortions there are and i read that some female embryo's (unborn babies) were found in a well outside a hopsital in Punjab.. However the number of abortions or female baby drownings HAS decreased substancially and I believe as more and more people are educated and culture changes more, things WILL start changing for the better. Maybe even in Sikhi as well. It would be great to be able to go to Harimandir Sahib and be seen as as equal and have the same rights there as a man would have.
  15. I cant stay at home just cleaning and looking after kids; i think i'd HAVE to work; (this I know from my lil sister who is more like a daughter to me  ) however the greatest longing I have is to quickly grow up and rear a family; and there can be a balance. My parents are successful in their fields (they have worked INCREDIBLY hard to get where they are no doubt) but they have never made us feel lonely or have any longing for them. We've had great childhoods. We love our parents more than anthing. Probably because as a family there is also a balance. We have always been taught to help around the house and ith our lil sister; who is almost 4. We think of it as responsiblity lol we dont say chores. we each have our own responsiblities and it makes life a whole lot easier for ourselves AND our parents. We have been taught the usual- doing only what's right, no lying etc. and each member of my family has full faith in Waheguru..Basically we've had it great! My father always treated me the same as the boys in my family, I play sports, I was an Army Cadet etc. and my brothers treat me the same as they'd treat eachother (cept now they're bigger than me so they dont beat me up so much! lol) Basically this is because my parents worked out a BALANCE which made things as EQUAL as possible u might say  And I hope to have the same lifestyle when i grow up and marry into a new family. Please let me know if u've anything to say on what i've written!
  16. That Swami person is an affiliate of the RSS who say Sikhism is a Hindu sect etc. And I heard there was a hukamnama out that said we aren't to socialise with him...Seeing as some Gurudwaras have allowed him to sit on a platform or throne-like seat -above the Guru Maharaj! I didnt know he'd been to Southall as well... more and more i hear about this lot the more an more i WANT A CHANGE!
  17. i have bin avidly reading up on the events before and after the attack on Harmandir Sahib and have come to the conclusion that ANYTHING would b better than Indian Rule of Sikhs, where we arent seen as members of a seperate religion but a Hindu minority sect. where the army can take control over us, rape our sisters and mothers slaughter us; make out as if WE are killing innocents that WE are terrorists. I am not against hindu's or anything like that I just feel that Sikh's need a home and we deserve one where we arent treated like the dirt under a shoe or idiots as the film industry depicts us. Its not like Khalistan would be a land for sikhs only; hindus and muslims alike are supposed to live freely there too, it worked before under Maharaj Ranjit Singh ( though under different circumstances) and it could still work now. BUT we need to work under Sant Jarnail Singh Bindhranwale's guidance; because corruption and infiltration is rampant and it won't work, Khalistan will be a mini India except with more Sikhs. And it will be harder to bare if it happens that way. Because after all that reaing i found the hardest things to read about were where Sikh's killed Sikhs because of mistrust and where Sikh officials killed sikhs and raped women in encounters etc. "Ok let's assume Sant ji was a bad person and was completely wrong for everything he did. There are always two sides to every story. If people ar serious about knowing the reality of all the events, look at both sides. Read about the jeevans of the one side of sant jarnail singh, bhai amrik singh, bhai surinder singh sodhi, general shubeg singh etc etc. Then on the other side read the jeevans of Indira gandhi, gen brar, KPS Gill, etc etc. REad about all these people's lives and then come on this site and tell us who you think was wrong and who was right. This wolrd is all a big drama set in motion by God. There ae so many characters. Learn about all the characters and then come to a conclusion. Peace."
  18. I'm telling u ppl, we need to stand up; as a sangat and get these people OUT and stop talking about the bad things they get upto. We should b talking of our move to get them out! Come on people start thinking and prayin...
  19. Yeh u know i'm with u too, we need more spirit and positivity...small amounts of land don't matter, it's still a start! And these thing's dont just happen out of thin air, it took India hundreds of years to b liberated by British Raj and 5o years after independance ppl r still tryin to b liberated, Punjab needs to b liberated/'purified" from within before we shud call for Khali(pure)stan though.
  20. Yeh i'm with u, this cant go on any longer especially seeing those funds going to what seems like nowhere and the gurudwara looking nothing like what was expected- according to the "costs". It's getting out of hand, it's not fair on the sangat but then they shud also b ready to stand up and say something or even do something about it! And i also think the sangat shud go down there on Sunday to 'ensure there is a presence of Sikhs' as well...there has to be SOME Sikhs there cos we all know there are no real Sikh's involved with these parties.
  21. Exactly! That's what i'm sayin, cept tht if we try n ecucate ppl about what they represent then maybe they wont use them as accessories and go pub n them? Or am i just too naive? i think people that do wear em no why they wear em and must no something about what they wearing specialy the sant ji ones and 84 otherwise i dnt fink people would buy em Yeh but but alot of the time ppl see the khanda or anything related to sikhi and wear them... i know loads of sikh's who don't even know what Miri and Piri are and what they signify; they just see the khanda and go all "shere Punjabi-like"...They just put 2 and 2 together but they dont see anything more than the suffereing of the martyr's they just see a way of saying...yeh we're sikh init...
  22. I'm sorry but this ridiculous site een has a poll for "SIKH'S ONLY" asking whether they support Khalistan...It proves nothing, who's to say that Hindu's are not voting 'no'? This site is despicable, and its so hard to write all the things in my mmind at the moment...i'd have to go on forever! akal Purakh give me strength!
  23. Exactly! That's what i'm sayin, cept tht if we try n ecucate ppl about what they represent then maybe they wont use them as accessories and go pub n them? Or am i just too naive?
  24. The way to go is to educate the Sikh Youth about their religion. If they don't know, they WILL make mistakes. I dont think they do it intentionally. If we teach they will want to learn. I come from a not very religious family. I'm sorry to say that my brothers, even father, don't know the names of all the Guru's (as an example) and they all cut their hair etc. However, a year back I had a 'religious awakening' and am working towards becoming Amritdhari in 2008. Through my example, my mother is going to do Amrit in 2007 and my brothers ask more and more questions about Sikhism- including questions about 1984 and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. We, as a family try to go to the Gurudwara at least once a week ( which is a record) :T: But the point is if we taught people about what happened before and after '84; and Sikhi in general, there would probably be more of a religious awareness among Sikh's in diaspora and more people would wear these T-shirts (which i believe is a great idea) with the respect that they deserve.
