I was thinking in similar line too. During those times especially during wartime, khalsa uniform needed to stand apart/different from those around. When did I say this? Please show me proof of which banis were read by Guru Gobind Singh jee in 1699 khandeh di pahul ceremony. There is no proof of this. Every one has different version of what banis were read. The event did occur but we do not know whcih banis were read.

You are wrong there. I am simpy using my logic. BTW does not being able to spell properly make me less of a Sikh? Anyways, I have mostly used "dasmi patsahi" instead of dasam granth. Who is Darshan singh and whats spn's topic got to do with my replies?

Not to me. Only Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee is the highest authority for me. So does that make me less of a Sikh? That is the way our Gurus have outlined our faith. Who are we to question that. 2 THis shows how sikh you are who does not know even the name of sixth master. I have since corrected my mistake. It was an automatic response in typing singh after "Gobind". I could be wrong but there was no eye witness as regards to which banis were read. There were eye witness to the event though.

Now, Amrit can only be prepared with 5 Banis - including 3 from Sri Dasam Granth. Stated by the man-made rehat maryada by sgpc. Why would Guru Gobind Singh Jee instruct us to believe in the one and only one Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee? Even Guru Nanak Dev Jee stated that Shabad is his Guru.!

Everything we need to to know is in Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee and yet we look elsewhere. Why is this? We are clearly disobeying Guru Jee arent we?.

I dont think this is correct. It is, because to become a sikh of Guru Sahib, we have to go through an initiation - Khande Da Pahul - which can't be done without Jaap Sahib, Swaiyye, Chaupai Sahib, which all come from Sri Dasam Granth. You are therefore implying that before Jaap sahib, swaiye and chaupai sahib were worded down, one could not become a Sikh? Something VERY wrong here dont you think?

I dont think Sikhs have a "Telaban" type mentality regarding dress code. We should dress modestly thats all. If one does not shave ones legs then its best to wear trousers isnt it? Never heard of your last comment from anyone.

This clearly shows that your friend does not seem to understand the basics of Sikhee. Sikhee does not have priestly class and therefore we do not need them to do ardass for us.
