  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Kampreet Kaur Bhainji Firstly welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your personal experiences in France. It is nice to have a personal viewpoint when discussing matters that are in the news and which concern countries where many of the members are not resident. It is sad that Sikhs in France now have the fight for rights in a country that claims to have been the first to recognise the rights of the individual. The Sikhs in the UK fought this battle over 40 years ago and with the closer integration of the European Union, the Sikhs in the UK who are numerically stronger than the French Sikhs should use their resources to help the French Sikhs. This is where the Sikh political organisations such as Sikh secretariate and Sikh Federation can make their mark. Already some discussion on this issue is being done on the Sikh agenda mailing list. 2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pheena Ji In my opinion it doesn't matter whether a person is born with gay tendencies or develops them during his/her lifetime. Unfortunately over the years the Gay lobby have been successful in insinuating that if a person does not condone gay behaviour then it means they hate Gays. This is not the case, just because you disagree with a certain behaviour does not mean that you hate the person doing it. It is easy to argue that God made Gays that way so we should not judge them. But then some scientific research has also shown that men are more polygamous than women. Does this mean that males should be allowed to sleep around just because God made us that way ?. In life each human being is given certain advantages and certain disadvantages. The aim of life is to use the advantages and to fight and negate the disadvantages. If a person is born Gay it doesn't necessarily mean that he should give free rein to the desires. Sikhi teaches us that we need to overcome the desires and actions that take us away from God. Just as all men try and fight their inherant polygamous nature because they know that it is wrong then should not gays also be fighting their inherant gay nature ? GurFateh Bikramjit
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Niranjana This subject is too extensive to allow for a cogent debate. Perhaps it's better to debate the 'Devi' in the context of Sikhism, expecially in the writings of Guru Gobind Singh. I read in one post, perhaps not here but on another forum that you believe that the Singh Sabha disowned some of the writings of Guru Gobind Singh on the devi because they believed that such works were perhaps reinforcing a view that Guru Gobind was a worshipper of the Devi. Perhaps that would be a good subject to debate. GurFateh Bikramjit
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Niranjana Unless you are prepared to name someone from Sikh history then you should not be making the comments that you made. I have come across such rumours before mainly spread by an 'asian' gay organisation. As for your implication of homosexual behaviour due to the exclusion of women, I can only assume that Nirmala and Udasis indulge in such behaviour since they place such a strong emphasis on celebacy. 5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! If any of the Bhajis and Bhainjis here want to take a few minutes and email Jsb Bhaji a few words of support his email address is. 6. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! N30 Singh Your reply to JSB has got to be one of the most insensitive and self righteous posts that I have ever read Did you actually read the post ??So, if one Sikh is confirmed in his faith that's a success, how about the dozens how leave the site with a head full of doubts such as JSB ??. Rather than self congratulations you and truth singh need to reflect why your 'spectacular' site is leading to such outcomes. You would do well to watch your mouth. You have already been getting away with calling people rascist smurfs and hate mongers. It might work on your site where Nangs rule the roost but it won't work here. GurFateh Bikramjit
  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I know many of you will think, not another Sikhawareness thread after the one about Lallesvari has just been locked. Well I thought it was important to give a link to this post on Sikhawareness as it highlights the reason why we Sikhs have to be on our guard all the time against Nang propaganda. It is pretty sad that someone who tried to use that site to further his knowledge of Sikhi has now been so disillusioned. I suppose this has been the experience for most people who went to that site with good intentions and a willingness to learn more about Sikhi but who became disillusioned with the free rein given to Nangs and their propaganda. This post is a wake up call for Truth Singh and N30 Singh. Although the poster doesn't name the people who BS on the forum, it's pretty obvious who he means. http://www.sikhawareness.com/sikhawareness...p?p=23819#23819 GurFateh Bikramjit
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! On the face of it it sounds so stupid that two Singhs want to fight each other but what are the circumstances ?. It is easy to assume that both Singhs are in to Sikhi but what if one is a nang intent on deceiving Sikhs. What if the saroop he has is just there to make his job of deceiving Sikh youth easier ?. Take the example of Baniarawala. Doesn't he have the Sikh saroop as well ? So, according to Khalistani, the Singh who made the attempt on his life is not respecting the Guru's saroop ?. How about Ashutosh ?. The Bhayya uses the Sikh saroop to deceive people, if a Singh managed to get to him would we be critical of that Singh ?. As for your remarks about Sant Bhindranwale, you are mistaken. Did the Sikhs in the Durbar Sahib stop shooting at some of the ignorant or foolish Sikh soldiers who allowed themselves to be used as pawns by Indira Gandhi ? How about Beant Singh the late chief minister of Punjab blown up by Shaheed Dilawar Singh ?. Was Dilawar Singh wrong ?. Shouldn't he have respected the Sikh Saroop of Beant Singh and allowed him to carrying on killing thousands of Sikh youth ?. And lastly KPS GIll he also has the Sikh saroop. GurFateh Bikramjit
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Gill Bhaji The only prophecy of Guru Gobind Singh accepted by Sikh scholars is the Raj karega Khalsa which we recite in the latter part of the Ardas. Sau Sakhi and other so called books of prophecy are just there to cater for those who would rather that things happened or wee propecised instead of them having to make any effort themselves. On a slight tangent, Sikhs would become 960 Million around 2168 if the present rate of Sikh population increase remains steady. Populations increase because more births take place than deaths. In the few decade Sikhs have been increasing by about 25 % each decade. So if we take the Sikh population at about 23 Million in 2003. Then each decade the Sikh population would be -; Year-------Projected Sikh Population 2013 ----- 28,750,000 2023 ----- 35,937,500 2033 ----- 44,921,875 2043 ----- 56,152,343 2053 ----- 70,190,428 2063 ----- 87,738,035 2073 ----- 109,672,500 2083 ----- 137,090,620 2093 ----- 171,363,270 2103 ----- 214,204,080 2113 ----- 267,755,100 2123 ----- 334,693,870 2133 ----- 418,367,330 2143 ----- 522,959,160 2153 ----- 653,698,895 2163 ----- 817,123,680 2173 ----- 1,021,404,600 Obviously this assumes that population increase will remain the same but by the time 2173 comes then the world population would be 264 Billion !! ( It's 7 Billion now ) GurFateh Bikramjit
  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Agreed 100 % with you Vickey Singh and warrior Princess. Bibiyan should come forward and become role models for the next generation. Unlike other religions, no one can ever use a quote from Gurbani to stop a Bibi from doing or achieving leadership roles in the Panth. It's sad that women in other religions have to twist and bend the meanings of their religious books in order to achieve anything but in Sikhi which gives them freedom to aspire to be anything they are lagging behind or becoming slaves to superficial and materialistic tendencies. GurFateh Bikramjit
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Happy Birthday bro. :HP: May you realise your potential in life and always remain in Chardi Kala GurFateh Bikramjit
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I agree with Guru Ji Di Singhnee about not showing the faces of the Gurus. When the Guru is to be in the scene then the camera could show the view as the Guru sees it. Originally such techniques were used in western films as well, In Ben Hur, Jesus is not shown but in the scenes where he is portrayed, it is either through camera view ( when he gives water to Charlton Heston ) and as a shadow ( when he is carrying the cross ). About a decade ago there was a series made in India about Guru Nanak and they used the technique of using a Jot to represent Guru Nanak and they got over the problem of using a human voice for the Guru by using dialogue in such a way that the audience could work out what the Guru had said by the dialogue of the other actors. Animation is also good especially if it is to be shown to young kids. GurFateh Bikramjit
  13. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! This is my translation of a article in the Sikh Phulwari December 2003 edition. Sikh Phulwari is the monthly magazine of the Sikh Missionary College, Ludhiana How I become a Singh It is said that behind every achievement there is usually an unseen hand. My achievement (in becoming a Sikh ) is because of the love filled humility of the Sikhs. I am 39 years old and ply my Riksha in the city. One day an elderly Sikh gentlemen got on my Riksha and asked to be taken to the Sikh Samagam being held in my city. He called to me "Pyare Betay" ( dear son ). Hearing him referring to me as such filled with joy. I joined my hand together and asked him where he wanted to go. He told me the location of the Samagam. I took him there but didn't wish to accept his money. He told me in a voice filled with love "Son, you work hard and I am a Sikh, a Sikh of the Guru never allows himself to be in debt to anyone". Then I wanted to learn more about Sikhi. Normally everyone calls us 'oye Rikshay wale' but I was enamoured by the way this Sikh spoke to me. Talking further I realised that that day was a Gurpurab. He asked me to partake of Langar before I went back to working. I saw rich and poor, high and low sitting in one line eating Langar. I felt joy to see this. Coming out I asked the Sikh looking after the Sangats' shoes if he could point me to any books that would tell me more about Sikhi. He said to me " Brother, come with me and I will get you these". He brought for me two Hindi books published by the Sikh Missionary College one book about the Guru Granth Sahib and the other about Sikhism in general. He refused to accept payment and just asked that I read them. I read these books and afterwards brought some more as I become more and more interested in Sikhi. After reading the book " Kesh Guru Di Mohar " ( Uncut Hair is the Guru's Identity ), I started to cover my hair and let them grow. There was opposition to this in my family but I remained determined. Whenever I saw a Sikh I become happy. I also started to visit the Gurdwara every morning and evening. One day I saw the same elderly Sikh whose love towards me had awakened my interest in Sikhi. Seeing me he gave me a hug and asked me not to cut my hair again. A few days later another Sikh seeing me told me that Amrit is a must for a Guru's Sikh. I made up my mind to take Amrit and become Amritdhari on the following Gurpurab. Now even though I still ply my Riksha I am known as Sardarji and going to the Gurdwara gives me great joy and contentment. My only hope is that if by reading my account someone else takes an interest in Sikhi and becomes a Singh then I will consider it a further blessing. My appearance has changed and it is like I have taken a new birth Sardar Amardeep Singh, Rampuri Colony, Khalaasi Line, Saharanpur ( UP )
  14. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Mr Singh Wouldn't you say that someone who wears the Guru's baana but attacks the very essence of their message is the hypocrite for the highest order ? If so shouldn't he be unmasked so that others are not influenced by his views ? GurFateh Bikramjit
  15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Let's not all jump to conclusions. We all know that even when Muslims are in a minority, it still doesn't stop them from doing mischief. We don't know what has been going on in the last few years there and Sikhs are the last people to riot or attack others for no reason. If Sikhs in the area faced Muslim BS in the last few years then believe me this will now stop. Old saying 'Hindu noon dhamki nal Muslay noon Dhanday Naal'. Deal with a Hindu with threats and a Muslim with a stick. GurFateh Bikramjit
  16. A Sakhi Of Guru Gobind Singh One Day the Rababis sang a Shabad before the Guru and the sangat sat in rapt attention. The Sikhs said to the Guru "Sache Patishah, the rababis have sang so sweetly" The Guru did not say anything. Again the Sikhs said "Sache Patishah, the rababis have sang so sweetly" . The Guru replied "The Rababis have certainly done a good rendition but the shovel is with them (Par Kahi inhhan hi paas hai)." The Sikhs asked "Sache Patishah, please explain to us the expression the shovel is with them". "The shovel is with them is a story which I shall relate to you" stated the Guru to his Sikhs. An official lived in a village where there was a persian wheel fitted to a well. Somebody had borrowed the shovel of the official and had not returned it. The official arranged for a drumer to read the announcement with the beat of his drum asking for the shovel to be returned. But nobody came forward so the official organised a search of all the houses in the village. But still the shovel could not be found. Someone suggested that the house of the drummer be searched. When the drummer's house was searched the shovel was found there. The official said "keeping the shovel in your own house while beating your drum to the whole world for it's recovery, you are ten times more guilty than anyone else. Had the shovel been with anyone else he could have pleaded that he did not hear the announcement but the shovel was in your house so I shall give you a much severer punishment" He tore up the drum and put it around the neck of the drummer and turned him out of the village. In the same way the Rababis and pandits preach the evil o f wealth to others but run after it more and more. Thus the shovel is with them. from Parchiyan Sewa Das circa 1708
  17. Sant jernail singh talks about this is in http://saintsoldiers.waheguroo.com/ss/video/akal.wmv He says that we have no bibian doing the Panj Piaray seva because, when Guru Ji asked the sangat to get amrit and made the Panj Piaray no women got up. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I have a great deal of respect for Santji but you cannot use arguments such as just because no ladies got up at that time then they cannot become one of the Panj Pyare. If we stretch this argument then only the castes to which the original Panj Pyare belonged should be allowed to become Pa nj Pyare. How about the ages as well, should the Panj Pyare now only be the same age as the ages the original Panj Pyare were who got up. Or how about locality. Should only people from Lahore, Dwarka, Hastinapur, Puri, etc be allowed to be in the Panj Pyare ?? GurFateh Bikramjit
  18. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Rules That Harpal Singh is Not a Threat to National Security; Agrees With Sikh Coalition Position and Orders His Release from Custody Coalition Defends the Reputation of Sikh-American Community San Francisco, California, December 2, 2003 – The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the release yesterday of Harpal Singh. Harpal Singh had been in INS custody since 1997. The federal government sought his deportation to India on the grounds that he supported terrorist activity in India and therefore constituted a threat to U.S. national security. The Sikh Coalition filed a brief as amicus curiae, a friend of the court, in support of Harpal Singh on September 20, 2002. The brief exclusively addressed the issue of whether the activities of Harpal Singh and his wife, Rajinder Kaur, constituted a threat to security of the United States. The Coalition intervened on Harpal Singh’s behalf to defend the reputation of the Sikh American community and to ensure that Harpal Singh would not be deported to India where, as the court agreed, he would face certain torture. The decision carefully details the torture Harpal Singh endured while he was in India. It states that in January 1989, Harpal Singh was “stripped, bound, stretched repeatedly on a pulley, and finally subjected to a solid steel roller being rolled over his thighs….” In May or June 1989, the opinion states he was beaten and “his right leg [was] broken by police interrogators.” In February 1992, “the police applied electric currents to his tongue, lips, nostrils, and temples” and then he was “racked again by pulley.” The Board of Immigration Appeals, which had previously heard the case, also held that Harpal Singh would likely be tortured if he was sent to India. It, however, allowed his detention because it ruled that his alleged activities threaten U.S. national security. Yesterday’s decision, ensures that not only will Harpal Singh not be sent back to India, but will also be released from INS detention. Harpal Singh was in INS custody for six years partly on the basis of secret evidence that the INS has refused to share with his counsel. On May 16, 2003, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the federal government to produce the secret evidence it used as the basis for its decision to detain Harpal Singh. 19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Khalsa Souljah Kamalroop isn't in the pic, Lallesvari is the gora. Apparently Lallesvari and his mates' Sunday afternoons are spent preventing Shia Muslims from getting beaten up by Sunni Muslims !. Lallesvari is of portugese origin and doing a PhD ( in BS I suppose ) at SOAS. He went to visit some Udasi deras in India and they saw that he wasn't very clever so they thought they would have a laugh at his expense, like most people in India do over hippy goray trying to 'find themselves'. Anyway they told him some bukwas about Sanatan Sikhi and like any gullible gora he swallowed it, now he's thinks he's some kind of scholar of Sanatan Sikhi. He's got a particular grouse against people highlighting the fact that he is a liar and his lies were found out on sikhawareness. He also hates people who try and study Sikhism in their spare time, he thinks that because he is paying through the nose for his PhD, we should accept what he says as the truth. Anyways it's a laugh seeing him coming up with his bukwas. The chromosomes one was my particular favourite !. He reads this forum because he had a go at Mr Singh for calling him a SOB for sucking up to Muslims GurFateh Bikramjit

  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Rupinder I would be interested to know more about this Kamalroop character. Send me a PM or email me on bik10@yahoo.com. So who was the gora in the picture ? GurFateh Bikramjit
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! This sakhi from the B40 Janamsakhi is slightly different from the one available in other Janamsakhis During Baba Nanak's travels he came upon a land inhabited by thieves. The chief of these thieves was a important landlord who possessed five hundred mares and many buffalos. The other thieves feared him but he was also very religious and gave charity to holy men and served sadhus who passed his way. The robber landlord took Baba Nanak to his house and treated him with great hospitality. "What is your occupation ?" Baba Nanak asked "Sir, you know " the robber asked " Please make me your Sikh" " If you abandon this occupation then I will make you my Sikh" replied Baba Nanak "Whatever else you command I shall obey, even if you demand my head and my life they are yours. But this occupation I have inherited from my ancestors. I fear to clasp you feet now because I cannot give up this occupation " the robber replied. Baba Nanak then made the robber his Sikh. " Brother, you must observe the following practices " Baba Nanak commanded "Tell me and I shall obey" promised the robber " Three things must be firmly embedded in your mind, the first regardless of whether you commit theft or any other occupation, you must always tell the truth, second never think evil of the person whose salt you have eaten and lastly never injure or strike a poor person, if these are observed your Guru will be merciful to you " said Baba Nanak Baba Nanak then left that place. After Baba Nanak had left, the robber thought that he would burgle the palace of th e Raja and after that he would give up his occupation. At night the robber arose and put on a fine suit and took five weapons with him. He then mounted his horse and then approached the gate of the palace. "Who are you entering at this hour, brother ?" enquired the gate keeper. " I am a thief " replied the robber. The gatekeeper took fright thinking that anyone who speaks in that manner must be a royal personage. In his way the robber passed through six doors and then waited for the whole palace to go to sleep. He then took all the valuables from the palace and put them in large bundles. On a shelf he noticed that there was a container and feeling it with his fingers he thought that it might be something edible. He placed it in his mouth and realised that it was salt. He then realised that the Guru had told him not to think evil of the person whose salt he had eaten. " How shall I live and continue to do evil things" he repented and left the bundles where they were. In the morning when the palace awoke there was uproar as they realised that the palace had been robbed but nothing had been taken. The Raja questioned the gatekeepers and they told him that a person had entered but when challenged he had replied that he was a thief and they had assumed that the person must have been a royal personage. The Raja was curious about this person, he commanded that a proclamation be made by the beat of the drum that he who surrenders and admits to the deed will be rewarded. The robber having heard the proclamation came to the Raja and admitted that he was the thief. The Raja asked what had happened and why he not taken anything. The robber explained that he was ready to take the valuables but his Guru had asked that he not think evil of anyone whose salt he had eaten. He had eated some salt by mistake from the shelf. The Raja was impressed and became a Sikh. He made the robber his chief minister. The Raja began the practice of chanting 'Waheguru, Wa heguru' and yearned for the opportunity to behold Baba Nanak.
