  1. I reckon the whole thing is made up. In order to kik start a new topic that us moorakhs use as another "unique" opportunity to sling slander at one another.
  2. This post would do better in seva..!? I live in glasgow on a general note i would say that there is plenty of coaching facilities and teams that want to train you, provided you are below the age of 16 or 17 max. After that it is difficult to get any kind of coaching unless of course before that you have proved yourself as a quality player or player of exceptional talent. There is camp called Ian St Johns Soccer Camp, i think hes manager as well now of a premiership club but he has a batch of designated scouts scouring the UK all the time doing camps hoping to get a glimpse of talents such as michael owen, jackie macnamara who came up through their camps. Other ways of helping along your way of coaching for whatever reason you are doing research, i had to do a similar kind of research. I found that giving local cultural and leisure officers that were at a top level position usefull to talk to as they hold a vast amount of information. But if you go down this path be prepared, i mean do not find yourself chapping the door of the Culture and lesiure officer for the F.A and you have prepared for a walk in the park, as it isnt that easy. You may have 10 questions prepared. but they will want your opinion and it wil be as though a cannonball hjas been setup, before you know it youl be juggling 40 questions if youre not creful. Having done that or byapssed that you could ask around in your local gurdwara about what facilities are available, i found this quite benfcial as it led to a Sikh Tournament, found out from this that there was alot of members in sangat wanting to start a league which has now only recently flourished. Thirdly i think its good to get discussing with family and friends as its amazing how things are linked.
  3. The 3" inches is for pocket knifes. Kirpan length has not been defined. I think the reason for that is that the law is not able to define how and what extent the kirpan to defend yourself can be defined.

  5. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ke fateh That is a sad thing to do, if guru gobind singh ji hit one of his sevadars with a shaft for (repeatredly) reciting one line wrong, (changing the meaning) i would hate to see what happens in her peshi when in the courts of lord!!. I think people tend to forget that every hour, minute, second is accounted for. I only hope the person whos kirpan has been glued together does ardas for a new one and makes steps to solve this issue...ardas is a big thing, we are all able to ask for pocket money, petrol money and so on for expenses. But we tend not to ask with same endeavour when asking from guru ji. If by mistake we do ask properly we dont wait patiently. Vada Kata Phul Chuk Maaf Karni. Im just a learner too, ive not even put the ladder against the solid foundations of sikhi yet never mind climibing onto the first rung. The wall is their, it was their when the chotay sahibzaday got bricked alive, it was there during the jalianwala bagh and countless other solid walls such as bhai fauja singh keep reminding us day in day out....naam japo naam jap naam japo....with every breath. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ke fateh
  6. its not done on a vaja but i did find japji sahib very nicely recited in 21 minutes.

I have heard that chandi di // isnt a good shabad to listen to in a family situation. This shabad was sung during the gurus time only before they went out to war. A gyanii once told my dad that listening to this shabad at any other normal time will cause families to go to war. please correct me if im wrong
  8. Mr Bir Ras Ji Guru Arjan Dev Ji Mahraj settled the issue for most of us when he gave us the Guru Granth Sahib. Who can be more wiser than Guru Arjan Dev Ji Mahraj ? I will never contest what Guru Ji taught us but will disagree with those who try and make their own mark on the natural flow on the teachings of Guru Ji by adding gurbani after hymns because they want to do what they call a sampat path. What if tomorrow some clever clogs decides to organise a path where they intercede Gurbani from Guru Ji with the Dasam Granth or Sarbloh Granth. Please accept the truth as given by Guru Arjan Dev Ji unless you think you know better than Guru Ji !!! Mr Kurtas I am not disputing that, and never will. I did not at any point encourage 'own parts'. I am too of the view that the teachings of Guru Arjan Dev Ji shouldnt be edited. All i am saying is must we argue over the net on these issues. Although me and many sikhs agree with your viewpoint. The majority will see this as a big argument against one individual. I think you'll agree that specific individual isnt wanting to listen...whats the point of arguing with them. I never said at any point i know better than Guru Ji. My knowlede is lower than the distance the sky and earth. I wont post again now as it is obvious you are offended by me merely asking for a truce. Post away.
  9. and KFI, i didnt disrespect anyone on here, im not here to disrespect anyone...but if you disrespect the dhol again then god help u. the dhol was used as a battle cry before our sardars went into battle...so never EVER disrespect the dhol again Listen singh, dont come on this forum making empty threats. Bhangra is your choice, but the culture that you talk about sometimes inteferes with sikhism or at least to attempt to and then this causes problems. So the singhs that say "this is not right" are warning you of something bigger. One day say for instance you enter a band, you become that band, that band have decided to do bhangra at a nagar keertan. What will you do, join them or desert them. It is these issues that the singhs are thinking. Singhs that tell you about it being wrong are only hoping you will ask them questions and discuss with them. More often thatn not you probably didnt probe you probably showeed signs of egotism that even i have noticed you do here.
  10. Mr Kurtas and Mr Khalsa Fauji, why do we have to argue over an issue that most likely will never be resolved by the either of you two. I am getting the drift that both of you agree to disagree. Can we look as this issue as something guru ji has chosen for youse to have different views on. If everyone was the same then the creation god made wouldnt be the same, we are all entitled to our own views, can we please just move on im sure both of you do plenty of seva, keertan or some kind of community service for the panth. I am more than sure that one way or the other you bring people closer to sikhi, please drop this petty argument and carry on with your sikhi. Im sure guru ji wouldnt want any of his singh/singhnees arguing in this manner.
  11. Its a fake, the tabla has a rip in the top right corner before it breaks....hmmm
  12. The reason you are posting is that you know what you are about to do is morally wrong. In terms of sikhi, cutting of kesh is a kuret (cardinal sin) guru gobind singh ji said this himself. Without hair you are not a sikh. You are merely a cheap imposter. Sorry not a newbie to the site but its high time some one told you that you simply want to cut your then go for it, au revior.
  13. An update of all the things banned by the current committee. No gatka, gatka instructor not allowed to teach, during the anouncemount no reason was given. Gatka banned until further notice apparantly. No tabla, tabla instructor changed to gianni ji. Which is fair enough but the kids have not yet attended his class, as his teaching isnt as visible as the (voluntary) instructor's before him. A committee member was asked by a 14 year old, when can he start learning tabla again, and this was his exact phrase word for word. "the tabla thing is a committee problem let them deal with it." No offence but ive seen a 2 year old have a more polite and constructive discussion with a 14 year old. No keertan to be taught voluntarily by bhai manjeet singh, only the gianni, this wasnt even anounced therefore reasoning was not provided. I have stated the facts, now it is up to the individual to either take the facts for what they are, or sulk in their glory.
  14. http://www.mrsikhnet.com/index.php/2006/10...obind-singh-ji/ Sounds like yogi bhajan ji has got it. This person has a lot of giann please treat his words with respect.
  15. Nah man i think we always try to pick out the bad points in people. Why cant we just see the good points. I wouldnt mind if this was in a different forum i.e. comedians forum coz those guys need this sort of inmformation to keep them ticking over. In sikhi we should try and encourage people to be attracted to sikhi, slagging them off ...personally i cant see it working. Its a milder form of bullying as far as i am concerned. (unless you knew them personally)
  16. YOu are full of ego. thats why there is no response. Without attacking you or anyone else for that matter, its not "us" that liberate sikhism. Sikhism liberates us, the guru ji does kirpa on us, we cant do kirpa on guru ji. Please post constructive arguments, not one liners that even i find difficult to answer to. Gurdwaras do not belong to a caste, sikhs simply have to stop beadbi and then take control themselves. A true sikh will not see caste, they will not see creed, they should have piaar for their sikhi. for god sake in Florida i seen sikhs set up a gurdwara in a mini caravan bcoz they were that poor, but they have more sharda than some of us that think a gurdwara has got to belong to a caste.
  17. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...5&q=sikhism came up as sikhism
  18. by shin im talking about the bi just after the knee. See the reason i say this is because thats what was in the sakhi. It was in punjabi and apparantly his hands did reach just past his knees.
  19. It looks to me as though he has given sikhs props
  20. theres a sakhi abt why guru ji used to do shikaar, for reasons we cant imagine. One of them was to let parashan atmas (distressed souls) out of the world and let them rest in peace. Sorry if that sounds like rubbish but ive have read this sumwhere
  21. Well, parliament is one thing but as suggested thats a long term action. We need a more speedy resolution..basikly im saying we need to attract youth to the gurdwara..not by any necesary means..but simply by using gurmat, parchar and more camps. These are just my thoughts though feel free to add. Lets not post crazy ideas...but it would be good to see what kind of brainstormiing sangat can come up with..by best solution is to hold camps and then campers to tell all their friends to come along and see what happens with that....slowly people will come together and eventually committees will see that youth dont want wrong activities being carried out. At present there simply isnt enough youth to protest...the majority is elders and if sikhs are not careful soon gurdwaras will be as empty as church halls and if this happens tht will be a sad day for sikhi indeed.
  22. Im not creating a dispute but bringing to you attention this point is false. I have had the good fortune to see many monay people become amrit dhari, many leave mona hairstyle and become singh, ive seen even more stop eating meat as resloutions and become vegans. Not bcoz they wanted a change becuase they have heard parchaar and took the message to heart.
  23. Dont listen to them, their information is wrong. infact there is a sakhi where a young poor chaps old grandfather is dying. His last request is to see dasmesh pita Guru Gobind Singh. The young boy has to go look himself because the old granfather is no longer able to walk and is at his final few breaths. But his last wish is to have darshan and he means from deep within, so the little boy says how will i recognise him. The old man only begins to describe what he remembers and states guru ji will be wearing bana blue and saffron orange coloured, kesri dumalla and will be shashtar dhari...he then goes on and says that when guru ji is sitting his hands touch the ground and if he is walking his hands reach his shins...this is only some of the sakhi unfortunately i cant remember it all if i remember the source i will poost it.
