  2. As glad as I am to hear that I was engulfed in Guru Ji's Naam, I'm still pondering..why exactly I felt fear. Of course, it wasn't like...scared fear but like... It felt like I didn't start living until yesterday night.. ( if that makes any sense ) I've been amrithdhari for... almost a year now...but still...it was like, my life flashed infront of me. As if all this time, I wasn't living for the right reason. Very strange feeling..
  3. Sangat Ji, I don't know what has come upon me. You see, last night, I was listening to Kirtan,( like every night ), but last night was different. I was laying down in my bed in my room, just listening. Everything was......ANAND! There is this one part in the Shabad, were the Giani just breaks away from the Shabad kind of, and just goes into Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru over and over again. My mind was...attatched. Before I knew it, my head started nodding back and forth. I was chanting Waheguru Ji's name aloud whilst my family was sleeping just a few rooms down. It was a feeling I've never felt before. I was terrified for my life, yet, I was enjoying it. My heart was thumping out of my chest, yet I was calm. Blood was flowing intensely through my viens, yet I lay motionless. Then, I opened my eyes, and everything felt different. I was scared. It was as if my life flashed before my eyes. What happened to me? Did I experience true Naam Simran, or was it just a figment of my imagination? Anything would help.... ____Confused______

  11. " Without a crown, there is no king. Without a turban, there is no Singh." Lol, i liked this quote. Dastaar was given to us by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to maintain our identity. I can't explain how i feel every morning when i stand infront the mirror and tie ym dastaar. Each larh has 100's of Singhaan di kurbaniaan. Those who fought for the khalsa panth. the Dastaar is a declaration; a symbolf of soverienty and freedom. The symbol of Guru's love, Guru's affection, and Guru's given responsability. "A Dastaar is only a Dastaar when it is on the table; when it is on your head, it is part of your head". Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh.
  12. uhh...sorry, but i don't really remember. like, i would try to drag the file i wanted to burn into the prgram into the place where it was supposed to go, but it wouldn't let me. so i would try dragging it somewhere else, and basically, it would let me drag the file anywhere, so i couldn't really do anything. this happened on a couple diff prgrams. i just wanted to know if there were any other "easier" programs that would work, thanks. WJKK WJKF

  16. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh! Sangat Ji, a while ago someone posted a video of a Singh doing kirtan(well, it wasn't really kirtan soort of), but it was a video of a Singh who made his voice go reaaaaaalllly high. I can't seem to find it, if anybody has the link, please let me know. Bhulla chuk maaf karni, WJKK WJKF
  17. lol, i honestly don't know. It was a spur of the moment thing. Me and my family traveled all over, went to more than 20 Gurudwara's in...2 weeks. I'll try to find out. Bhulla chuk maaf karni. WJKK WJKF
  18. lol, thanks. heres two more. i took these at the same Gurudwara.
  19. i have a wicked picture of Nishaan Sahib di seva being done at Tarn Taran Sahib Gurudwara. i took it this summer. here it is. ( i attatched it. let me know what you think. )
  20. WaheguruJiKaKhalsa WaheguruJiKiFateh Bhai Sahib, Thank you, I appreciate your comments. The reason I asked the said question is because, as a youth I like many other's was guilty of blind worshipping / followed Sikhi by the example of my family. However as I and my understanding of Sikhi and other world religions has developed over the years, I have found certain aspects previously taken as "Gospel" (Excuse the Pun) to contradict my findings. When I have questioned the "Ritualistic" actions being performed and requested answers to questions like: 1. How do you know that these pictures you "Do your ardas to, or that fill your heart with Joy" are actually of any of the Gurus. 2. If you need something to visualise on when doing Simran or Ardas etc. Then why do you not focus on Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ek OngKar or ever The Khanda? 3. If the Pictures are Sikh Art and designed as a representation of our History, then Why do you drape these images with Garlands / Haar's and light Thoof's etc. No one was able to provide me with a definitive answer (in line with Sikhi) to justify their actions. I am in no position to Judge anyone, so please forgive me if it seems like I am but if these things do not get said then forums like this are pointless. Anyway, looking at some of the other posts it seems that there are a number of differing perspectives / understanding of what idol worship is. WikiPedia defines Idol Worship as: "Idol worship is the worship of an inanimate object purported to have supernatural properties, and even to have a distinct personality. Although this is considered to be Idolatry by Christians, Muslims and Jews, it not considered so in several other religions." So from the above, it seems like some of us are actually engaging in Idol Worship. Thought! - Just because some "Baba, Sant or Jatha Pandi" tell's you that something is Right, does it make it Right? Or just because you have carried out the same action for years, does that make those actions correct? I know that our intention's go along way for our actions but at the point we find out our previous actions we're incorrect, what do we do? Does our Ego kick in and not let us admit that we we're wrong? - Just a thought! Does anyone have any Gurbani relative to this thread please? WaheguruJiKaKhalsa WaheguruJiKiFateh I understand what you you mean completely veer ji, and i agree totally. The statement you stated that i made blue and bold is exactly what i am talking about though. When we hang garlands and/or lights around a painting of "Guru ji", its becomes ritualistic and idoltry. kaahae rae ban khojan jaaee || Why do you go looking for Him in the forest? sarab nivaasee sadhaa alaepaa thohee sa(n)g samaaee ||1|| rehaao || Although he is unattached, he dwells everywhere. He is always with you as your companion. ||1||Pause|| We should not need pictures. Waheguru ji dwells everywhere. We just need to find the path, and the best way, is the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. If i have offended anyone, I am truyl sorry. Bhulla chuk maaf karni WJKK WJKF
  21. I think some people aren't fully understanding what Veer ji was asking, and what some people's responses were. If you have pictures of Guru Ji's in your house, its is absolutely fine to "respect" them. But to take mathaa etc. to the paintins is idol worship. idol worship - the worship of idols; the worship of images that are not God You should have respect for these paintins in your mind, but one shouldn't worship a painting, after all, how are we so positive thats what our Guru Ji looked like? One cannot let these things become a ritual. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FINE TO HAVE PICTURES, until/unless one is becoming ritualistic and/or "worshipping" them. These are my opinions, I am not saying anyone is correct/incorrect. Bhulla chuck maaf karni. WJKK WJKF
