    Bana Everyday

does wearing bana make you any more spiritual?...any closer to god? there are many singhs/singhneea..who wear tailored suits to work....and are probably or even at higher lengths in their spiritual path then one who wears bana everyday. It is good to wear bana as a mechanism to allow an individual to be reminded that they have a duty to fulfill as to jaap naam and so on. However if another individual does not wear bana everyday but does wear the essential requirments (panj kaakar)...that same person still has the ability to remind themselves of their duty as a sikh. Will guru ji be upset if you don't wear bana, yet you do what he asks and do selfless service and jaap naam. In the end of the day, nothing will go with you in the end except naam/seva. no need to bicker about what is what...when the answer alone can be answered in a common sense perspective.

    Stupid Camp

umm S1ingh... the kirtan 'tunes'...espeically at like Akj smagams all derived from popular folk songs in the 80s i believe...notablly the shabads that incorporate simran tunes that follow the shabad. so why not blame mainstream music for using the instruments used in the video also as 'offensive' So in a way he could be mocking those songs hmm :gg: but relax its funny, live a little
  7. you can come live with me!! lol just kidding... whatever the situation you are in...nothing in life is stable...when theres ups there will be downs and vice versa. sooner or later the sitation you are in will blow over... however if you honestly believe you need to make a "fresh start" and leaving home is the only..and i mean the only solution there is...then by all means go for it, explore yourself take w.e steps necessary to get yourself at a level where you are content. Personally read bani and do ardas will be the solution to solve all your problems...however if your going to pass that on....then go on a brief holiday do something fun get your mind off the things that are bothering you...it can't be that bad? if your life is at risk by living in your current place, then walk out that door, if not then explore your options before making a drastic change in your life...and the life of your 'loved' ones. all the best
  8. Just a question.... If Adam and Eve were to be the first humans and god put these two here, wouldn't it mean we are literally brothers and sisters.....? first there would be Adam and Eve then their would be Adam and Eve's son and daughter then Adam and Eve's son and daughter have kids and so on till present day....kind of disgusting...anyone??
  9. Write a well thought out letter on why Sikhism should be taught in the course. As well, send the letter to the Dean of the School, to the professor in charge, and to any sub comittees in the faculty that are authortative figures. Include with this a petition to get X number of signatures, which will boost your support of this class, by having the student body interested in the topic and then send away to the people in charge! and mandeeppraina " u all alone cant make a difference" ....is just obsered... it only takes one voice to make a difference... well to the OP good luck to you friend!
  10. My question regards..the current state of gurdwaras with new ideas coming to play....and traditional rehat being incorporated with modern ideas... does it make it okay? Is it okay for langar halls (whether they are at equal level to guru ji's hall, or be it beneath guru ji's throne) to have chairs and tables? each time i go to a gurghar especailly out of the GTA (Toronto) area...in either Vancouver, Uk, Australia... how come more and more gurdwaras are starting to have tables?...is it okay?
  11. i don't understand... i live in a area where i'm the only singh for miles (literally last time i seen a singh was 2 months ago)..if hadn't been for this movie...i still walk the streets with ppl eyeballing me as a terrorist...now i walk down the streets as if i'm a superstar...people shaking my hand going Singh is King... live a little guys...in the end its a movie in the era of kaljug...bani parro...maharaj tho kushya leo.. this movie has probably done more good than bad....whats wrong with it?....do you see sikhs walking your toronto, vanocuver, uk streets....you see buncha wannabe sikhs...cut hair..act as if they are sikhs....so what ..this movie just puts everything in perspective i guess of what sikhs of today look and act like.... have any of you gone out and blantly started yelling at someone who claimed to be a sikh (be it because they had cut hair or for whatever reason)...then why yell at a movie that will not be stopped since their isn't sufficient evidence that this movie defames the faith its a movie....movies are based upon fiction or non-fiction at times real events are construed in order to make profit. I don't understand why everyone well the select few sikhs are getting adjetated about this. Have they done beadbi as to do harm to guru sahib?...have their hurt the panth...if so....answer this....has not the leaders of the panth already doing enough to dismantle the panth itself? if the panth was so insecure about what others think...then why doesn't the sikh nation make a mainstream film? .... don't put blame to a movie on our own shortcomings... why was this movie made?....had the sikhs actaully looked and practiced the teachings of guru sahib....this movie would have been different of course....but the majoirty of so called sikhs don't even look like sikhs....10% of the 'sikh' population are amrtidhari.... what do you expect? enjoy...we can only expect to live for about 100 years...god willing....enjoy it...people are not that dumb to base this movie entirely on the sikh religion. just some food for thought... waheguru da nam japo !!... pray for me as i pray for you my friends wjkk wjkf
  12. whats the big deal?... what about other songs that promote sikhi...why not complain and get dr.dre beats out.. what has this video done to make you feel as if it was really that innapropriate because of pictures in a song that talks about sikhi? The video shows the culture of punjab...and the culture of punjab coincides with the Sikh religion, no? wjkk wjkf
  13. Wjkk wjkf... sangat ji... one of my good mates..with gurus kirpa took amrit about 2 years ago....and has got a tatoo just a few weeks back..he had always wanted a tatttoo even before he took amrit...and now finally has done it... i havn't spoken to him since i saw it (not out of spite, due to work)....but when i do....i just don't know what to say... i think personally....he should goto punj and tell them what he has done to his body...... what is the sangat's view.....as he has already gone through with getting a tattoo? is their a need for him to goto punj pyare?
  14. theirs two parts to the story,... what we saw was just a clip, anything can be blown out of porportion by just a few moments. Their has been so many anti-sikh propaganda who knows if this is one of them, by causing up a stir against maybe the 'good' guy(the one in the clip)... however don't get me wrong, i'd be the first to kick some as s had i seen someone do it in life...bbut this all seems fishy...because the one's who are supporting this claim that he is a theif are a) an ex MP who got caught with a Grow-Up b) and another who got cuaght having a prositute ring in the States the guy in the video ...has kids that are old and working their professions. the individual himself in the video has his own gas stations and is a millionaire, so what is his dire need of money? So, maharaj kirpa karn, that soon enough they'll be a political revoultion in the panth to meet guru's demands on how to function properly as a panth...
  15. yea, i think its a brilliant movie that is actaully realistic and fairly true compared to the rest of the movies that have been coming out. Really makes you think of how Governments go out their way to control you. I recommend watching it!!
  16. i am not too sure if the akhara from sydny has extended to melbourne as of yet... however... if you like, you can take my email down ...m_deol19@hotmail.com.... and surely we can discuss more in detail.... I was at the AKJ smagam in the beginning of the year in Melbourne...and they were discussing how they would like to start an akhara in Melbourne.... I know of the singhs who have started the Akara in sydney, and surely they could provide you with more information...just email me, that why I can allow you to get in touch with the singhs from Sydney if they know of any information for Melbourne.
  17. if you are really worried... why not just take gurus hukamnama? in my opinion...i think it is the spirt of those panj pyare that really count....and not determinded by the sex of an individual....cuz when we take amrit...we are not taking it from the singhs we see....but from the spirit from the real panj pyare and guru gobind singh ji

    Helllp Mee!

do ardas...do more jap ji sahib....and fight your mind...you don't need to goto pesh...just seek shelter with guru sahib..and ask him to take care of you.
