https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/index.html Does this finally put the mask debate to bed? 'Gold standard' analysis of 78 studies and 1million people finds face coverings made 'little to no difference' to Covid infection or death rates The research - carried out by the Cochrane Institute , the 'gold standard' of evidence-based reviews, looked at 78 global studies involving over a million people. Results indicated that surgical masks reduced the risk of catching 'Covid or a flu-like illness' by just five percent - a figure so low it may not be statistically significant. The researchers said harms caused by masks - including hampering children's schooling - were poorly measured in the studies, meaning any small benefit of masks on infection rates may be outweighed. Professor Francois Balloux, a professor of computational biology at University College London, who was not part of the analysis, said it showed that the benefit of wearing masks is 'at best small'.

Dear @Moderator Why are these threads in the 'Closed' section: Admin Note: The reason is that we don't want to loose our brother/sisters due to the unwanted fear of vaccination.

I was watching this NDTV clip and came to know that as per current situation, we will see 5million souls to be departed due to this virus by August. Figure is based on deaths per population figure; same applied for US covid deaths. if Indian numbers to be considered, it will be 1 million deaths by August. They are reporting far less and no counting at all. We should pray for the well being and chardikala of Indians in India. Hope that they learn something from this and bring changes.

didn’t realise there was such a problem in the USA @GurjantGnostic what is your assessment? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-56218684 An elderly Thai immigrant dies after being shoved to the ground. A Filipino-American is slashed in the face with a box cutter. A Chinese woman is slapped and then set on fire. These are just examples of recent violent attacks on Asian Americans, part of a surge in abuse since the start of the pandemic a year ago. From being spat on and verbally harassed to incidents of physical assault, there have been thousands of reported cases in recent months. Advocates and activists say these are hate crimes, and often linked to rhetoric that blames Asian people for the spread of Covid-19. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-56556442 Anti-Asian racism is rising in the US. Last week six Asian women were killed in Atlanta alongside two other victims. Thousands of Asian-Americans have reported violent attacks or hate crimes in recent months, often linked to rhetoric that blames Asian people for the spread of Covid-19.
