  1. Hello everyone, I recently came across some videos or articles of people explaining their near death experiences. I started questioning some things as I noticed everyone had experienced something which is out of what Sikhi says about afterlife. Some say they saw Jesus, or others say they were in a white room with other entities. This really made me think more about what Sikhi says about afterlife. Have any of you experienced death and come back to life? And, what would you say about these videos or articles? I have no idea what to think because, now I noticed i never read any articles or seen videos of someone saying they experienced something similar to what Sikhi says about afterlife. I keep wondering what is true and what is not.

Let's say. I'm a good-hearted person who is... Christian. Not a Bible-banger, but a run of the mill average Christian man of middle socio-economic status, or an average man who is not a Sikh. I do charity, good deeds, et cetera. I have a wife and kids and I do my best to raise them. I contribute to society the best I can and have a fear of God, in the truest sense, fearing that God does not like bad deeds. Am I a Manmukh, or a Gurmukh? part 2: Why does a man need to keep his hair fully untrimmed, yet is encouraged to trim his nails, which, by definition of keeping with Nature's law, is an example of "God's perfection in his creation"? What marks the difference in hair, and nails? And finally, why are women encouraged, at the highest point of Sikh theology (I.e. Khalsa Amritshak Sikh of the Guru) to become recluse to the world? If they have upper lip hair, or even, God forbid, beard hair... what average man, or even Sikh man of any level of Gurmukhness (apologies for the made-up word but I mean to convey level of Sikh spiritual state), what man would like to have physical relations with a woman who looks, well... like the male of the species. Naturally, men are attracted to femininity as it is opposite to a man's natural look (growing beard hair easily, naturally and encouraged to look like an adult). So where does this leave the poor Sikh female who may have a problem of growing beard hair or moustache hair, who is following the Rehat Maryada of the Khalsa which means she cannot pluck or trim the hair? Is that not equivalent to a "Sanyasi" man leaving his hair in knots and not showering? It looks unclean to a man's eyes, naturally. That is all.
  3. I was really curious how to do it. I want to do it to travel to darbar sahib and matha tek if that's possible? How if it is possible does one do it? I really don't know too much about it, sorry.

WJKK WJKF Hi so I'm currently in med school and I should be finishing in September 2015, i'm not going to practice picking up the degree and my parents know this part and there ok with my decision. So as being in med school I have been being more and more intrigued into sikhi and was wondering if someone can start guiding me how to start preparing for amrit of course this will take time as I want to be certain I can live that lifestyle. I mean Like to be honest I don't know punjabi or gurmukhi all to well that's one of my main issue I feel more comfortable in english but I'm willing to learn gurmukhi. I hope a singh or a kaur can guide me and put me on the right path.Hopefully like have daily talks so if I have any questions they can answer it. I'm 22 years old and I feel like its just a calling for me and just that I need help who can practically be my teacher, and if someone does respond to my message I will gladly private message them.
