https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XOmYKZJglvuihKsYRHk8hIWnPXSAtx32/view?usp=drivesdk Baba Thaan Singh was a great sikh. A Muslim admirer made a place for him in Attock in present day Pakistan. Later Maharaja Ranjit Singh changed this place into a Gurdwara Sahib where joint parkash of Guru Granth Sahib and Dasam Granth Sahib was done and jhatka was done regularly. In 1947, sikh Sangat brought the Dasam Bir to patiala where it was in parkash uptill 2012. In 2012 this birr was considered to be too old for parkash and a new Dasam bir was parkashed by Buddha dal and late Baba Mohan Singh of bhindran taksal. This old bir is still in the Gurdwara Sahib. The Gurdwara Sahib in Pakistan is in bad shape.

wjkk wjkf. so guru gobind singh ji said to his nihangs/soldiers you can eat jhatka meat in the jungles at times of war etc. due to their a) rigorous and demanding physical training so they need a lot of energy b) in the jungles during times of war they have no food. however now we are not in times of war and so there are not a lot of nihangs that will need to be training at that level where they need meat to sustain their lifestyle. but guru gobind singh ji did allow us this tradition and jhatka is also done as shastar puja as we serve blood to the shastar and do ardaas to maharaj to thank them for the blessing of shastar, help us win in the time of war and show respect to the shastar. so im asking when exactly do we perform jhatka if we are no longer in war and no longer training. when is the time for shastar puja or should we be practicing regularly say once a week as it is something we are instructed to do, so long as we follow correct maryada? thankyou for your time. wjkk wjkf

When you watch this video, do you think this is what Sikhs should be known for? These people are ruining the Sikh image and I know this has been disputed many times and I don't know if the Sikh community will EVER be on the same page. But in my opinion this is just stupid. These people are just looking for an excuse to eat meat...! Even if I wasn't a Sikh, I would never EVER want to see this happening. Taking the life of an innocent animal who has done nothing to harm you just so you can eat some meat? I know this is not accepted in Sikhism. Sikhism is a different religion, and the video below shows the exact opposite. I'm so happy I didn't see this when I went to Sri Hazur Sahib. Nihaangs are not Singhs, this practice is horrible and not part of our values! By the way, this video is the first result on YouTube when you search " sri hazur sahib" . Big Impact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A fellow Gursikh responded to this video, worth watching : Response 1: RESPONSE 2:
