  1. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh So I stay in India, and have been working in this organization as a software engineer for around more than 7 years now. The org is somewhat small , with around 150 people I think at most. It has felt really comfortable working with these guys. They're decently nice guys, atleast the boss I interacted with the most (he's director and cofounder of the org). I remember this job was a miracle from waheguru ji. I got it when I needed it the most. And a miracle had happened at that time. HR manager had kind of rejected me in the final round as he had better candidates, then this director guy had for some reason taken compassion on me and agreed to give me this job. The director instructed the HR manager to extend the offer letter to me, much to the HR manager's dislike. That was his favor on me. I was deployed on client site as a fresher. I couldn't impress the manager there and she ended up firing me back to my company in 2 months. Now the director could have fired me from the company itself for failing to make it on the client site, and this has actually happened with few. But he chose to extend his compassion again for god-knows-what reason and gave me another on-hold project to me which again was a nice learning experience. The client manager was dissatisfied with me here too, but for some reason tolerated me as I was a naive fresher. He helped me get out of a client who wanted to absorb me and wouldn't release me. This organization didn't fire single employee during covid times. And even gave everyone hike. I got a generous hike since last 2 years. They even gave me money for extra project I did. Now fast forward to July 2022, for some reason client side manager asks 3 of us to leave (not for performance reasons at all). My friend scrambled quickly and got a job for himself. I did a bit late and got offers but by that time client had released some purchase order to my company. And director didn't want to release me quick without me serving notice period. I was a bit uneasy because at the other org I said I would be joining in a month. I ended up calling the director too many times, and a few missteps that ended up him pissed off at my anxious behavior. I kind of fell out of favor from him, but still he was trying for my sake to reduce my notice period. I was still anxious , and kept on following him desperately "humbly requesting" him all the time over mails. He said he had given commitment to the client. I could sense his desperation too but the child in me wanted what it wanted. I don't know what was the final straw but he ended up giving me an exit by end of this month (september 2022) . I got what I wanted , but at what cost ? Was I an ungrateful person for not supporting my director when he needed me the most? Have I been an akirtghan ? Have I sown bad karmas for my future ? I do feel guilty a lot, and even thinking of paying him back via cash for 2 months salary, but I don't know if I did him a bigger loss than my 2 months salary.

  4. WJKK WJKF I been working in IT for around 10 years now, moving up from entry level IT to now a systems engineer, working on Office 365 maintaining servers etc. I’m looking to go into a more specific field, mostly because what I do is generic. The place I’m working at right now is decent but I’m not really learning. Does anyone recommend what field to go in? I was thinking cyber security but I not sure what qualifications. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

    Finding a Job

WJKK WJKF, Sangat Ji, I have been searching for a job for the last 6 months but I am struggling in the GTA (Greater Toronto). I graduated in Web Development, and am looking for a Front-End Developer job. I've tried networking, contacting recruiters, telling family/friends/others, applying, sending resumes and cover letters, but I am not sure what else to do. I go to the Gurdwara everyday, and I refrain from smoking, drinking, etc. I try my best to be a good person, but I am losing my faith in this struggle in finding a job. I know we shouldn't always ask for something during Ardaas, but I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. WJKK WJKF

    Fate of job

In about 2 months time I'm going to find out if I got an offer from an interview I just went to about 2 weeks ago. However, since then (about a week later) I took the chance to attend an Amrit Sanchar and I was given amrit. Now, I am an amritdhari. Now that I am an amritdhari, am I more likely to get the job if I do more bani and naam? Or are my chances the same? I know arzdas as an amritdhari are always heard and I was just hoping that this would mean the job would be secured. I didn't go to an amrit Sanchar for his job however. I was planning to attend amrit Sanchar well, well before I even thought I would start to look for a job let alone go to an interview for this job. Please help.
  7. So, I'm in my first grade of High School and I live in a part of Europe.(getting out of here is like the number one priority for my family, cuz there is no future here) At the end of this school year, I'd have to make a choice for what I'd want to study next year. The two choices are: Subjects that involve reading, like History, Ancient Language, Literature, Latin and English and Subjects like Maths, Science, Biology, Chemistry etc. Now, I'm good with the first choice of subjects. But, my mother wants me to become daktar, anjiniar because, guess what, these jobs can get you into Kanneda! I want to get a degree on International Relations. But , she listens to nothing I have to say. Whenever I talk about what I want to be, she starts to act weird, like she has Heart attack or starts beating me and swearing. I have started felling depressed and I've even started thinking about suicide, because I really don't want to do something I never liked. Every Punjabi that goes into college comes out a doctor, then why not be different? Today, she even called a relative in Canada, who really didn't know what I was talking about and told me to become a daktar cuz that's what is in the market. Lol I've already found a good university for international relations in the UK but all I get is threats that if I don't do what they want they aren't going to give any money (which they've been saving since my birth) for my studies. Please I really need help! Can somebody suggest me what to do? Any replies would be appreciated!

  11. I am 27 and I work in an IT company. I am a software developer in Java. And lately I have ran out of projects to work on . Our boss said an interesting java project will come , in january . He told us to prepare for our certification which we will be giving exam of shortly. However, the fact that he hasn't said anything about incoming project after jan gave me a sinking feeling that I might have to switch jobs because I can't be forever at this one if no new task comes. However I wanted to continue with this company. So I prayed to guru sahib and on random opening of angs got the following gurprasaad : (Some of the lines are obvious, including the first one, however some of them I am unable to relate to my situation ) ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ One Universal Creator God.
