SPOONS

A kathavaachak jee told us this at Gurudwara Sahib. A sufi saint came to a king. As is the habit of kings; they love to impress religious persons with valuable gifts; and the fakes do get impressed. This king too placed some jewels in the khapar; the begging bowl of the sufi saint and the bowl was still empty. The king was surprised and out of his treasure he ordered for more of valuables and placed in the bowl. As usual the bowl was still empty. The king ended up placing all of his treasure in the bowl. Then he enquired about the material of which the bowl was made. Too late I guess. Sufi saint told him that this bowl was made up of MIND.

Mind is the exact image of Akaalpurakh. Only Akaalpurakh jee can satisfy the mind. Mind is an uncrowned emperor. Only real things can satisfy it.

Kathavaachak jee told sangat jee that our five sensations 1 Touch 2 Sight 3 Hearing 4 Smell & 5 Taste are just like five spoons which feed the mind but always remain empty themselves. Even the king who eats through these spoons; the mind; always remains “totally” empty. Asks for more and keeps eating. The human body made up of flesh & bones may grow old in the process & thus the five spoons may also become weak. Teeth may be lost. Skin becomes wrinkled. Ears & eyes need artificial aids & still are weak & weaken further. Same is fate of Nose. But the mind and the five wicked ones the lust , the anger , the greed , the mOh , and the

ego are ever-young. The mind can be satisfied only by True Baannee and Naam.

vaahO vaahO baaNNee nirankaar hai

harnaam hamaaraa prabh abigatt agOchar abinaasee purakh bidhaataa

Gurbaannee and Naam are true forms of The God Akaalpurakh jee and are real just like Akaalpurakh jee are.

Maharaj jee remind this mind its origin

Mann tu jOt saroop hai aapNNaa mool pachhaaNN

Once our mind is enslaved by the real taste of Gurbaannee & Naam through paath , keertan and naam jaap than our mind can really be king.

Maharaj jee praise the tongue , (a spoon of mind) which sings the praises of Akaalpurakh jee

Saa rasnaa dhan dhan hai mayree jindrhee-ey

GuNN gaavaiy har prabh kayray raam

Rasnaa geedhhee bolat raam (tongue enslaved by naam – waah )

Maharaj jee praise ears which listen keertan

tey sravan bhaley sObhneek hai mayree jindrhee-ey

har keertan suNNaiy har tayray raam

Maharaj jee consider that head pious which is willingly placed at the Charan Kamal of Maharaj jee

so sees bhala pavitter paavan hai mayree jindrhree-ey

jo jaa-ey laggaiy gur paiyray raam

bhul chook maaf kar denaa jee
