You see," he said, "I'm blind." Hey Waheguruji, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 eyes, the world is mine. Later while walking down the street, I saw a child …

What we get in the present is our destiny, and what we do with what we get is our self-effort, says SWAMI TEJOMAYANAnDA Vasanas or our tendencies drive us to karma, action, which in turn leads to phala, results. These results are called our destiny. However, free will is not a product of vasanas. It is a human right, a special quality exclusive to human beings. How we use free will may be influenced by our vasanas. So we can use our free will well or otherwise. At the end of the Bhagwad Gita, Krishna says to Arjuna, Yatheccasi tatha kuru Do as you think fit. If we feel we cannot be sure that we may use our free will well, surrender it to God, as Arjuna did. He said, Ka…

Rochak Malang's note : These are just 13 reasons by this particular author. The actual number of reasons one can have cannot be counted http://www.sikhs.org/art4.htm My Thirteen Reasons for Sikhism by Jaswinder Singh In the paper "Why Sikhism"? I discussed my personal experiences in how I had dealt with issues in my life. I focused on myself as a child and as an adult, and the primary conflicts that Sikhs face during these periods of their life. Acceptance as a child and as an adult, but love playing a greater role in our lives as adults. My focus was to highlight how Sikhs living in a western society have to deal with problematic issues, where certain western va…

BHAI MATI DAAS JI When the 9th Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji went to sacrifice himself to stop the forcible conversions of kashmiri brahmins, and to uphold dharma, righteousness and justice. Guru Ji also had three other Sikhs who stayed with him and were martyred in front of Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji’s own eyes. One of these great men was called Bhai Mati Daas Ji. The Qazi asked Bhai Mati Daas: “Accept Islam and you will receive all the happiness’ and comforts of the world. We will give riches, as many wives as you wish and make you a courtier of the Mughal royal court.” Bhai Mati Daas replied: “And if I don’t accept Islam then what will I face?” “Then …

One brahmin once went to Anandpur Sahib to have darshan of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He had heard so much about Guru Ji so he really wanted to have darshan. On the way to Guru Darbar he sees houses, buildings and so much else being built. He asks one of the construction workers, “who is building all these buildings and homes?” Worker (Sikh) replies, “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.” He says to himself “I heard that Guru is a true fakeer but I see all this being built by him. Why does he need all this? Fakeers don’t need big homes to live in. Let’s see how true He really is.” Thinking this he reaches Guru Darbar. He bows to Guru Ji and sits down with Sangat. Guru Ji asks “Pandit Ji, ki…

Just then a voice was heard from the back coach 'Sardarji Barah Baj gaye' (Sir it's 12 o'clock!) The Sikh youth lo…
