Wats The Point?

i feel so annoyed n disheartned about the sad state we are in the panth, especially in the uk. We are a total mess. Our elders manipulate all the youth, and the youth are starting to hate each other. I see it happening more and more each day. The elders sit, argue, n pretend they know and are active in trying to improve this situation, try dealing with issues that we come across, when theyd probably get into an arguement over whether the windows should be left open or closed on the local gurdwara. they manipulate the youth. the youth are forming their little sects, All think they are right, and everyone else is wrong. no one looks at faults within them selves, but are ver…

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh! I'd like to thank all those who answered my previous question regarding the Karra. I find myself today in another unsure state. I've just about opened my eyes to reality that I may not be going to UNI and I had planned. Today I approached my uncle (who is more of a godfather to me). He's Hindu, educated, owns his own business and has made a million. He advises me regarding everything A-Z. I approached him today regarding a childhood dream I had of becoming an Army Officer, if not that - officer in the RAF. We talked for a few hours & his support was with me either way (he himself is from a strong army background). He l…

Some Questions...
by Guest Question Kid- 9 replies

WJKK WJKF I have some questions... Where do you go when you die and aren't amrit shak? Who were the first people on earth to be Sikh? Are all religions in the world right? If all are right, then how come Sikhs believe there is one God, while others believe there are more than one? And how come in Sikhism, killing and eating meat is wrong, and in other religions it's okay? Why is it important to keep hair in Sikhi? Is it true that when people go to the golden temple and bathe in the surrounding water, if they go with sharda they get healed from any sickness or anything they have? If that's true, how?? How is the water holy? Is it true that if you climb Hemkount S…

Is there anything wrong with going to an amrit sanchar when you have your period. I just wanted to make sure sounds like a silly question. All i know is that females are aloud to go to gurudwara and do paat when they have their period i think in hinduism you cant.

Yet Another Amritvela Question
by Guest My name- 7 replies

Gurmukh pyaareyo I am a student in a university, and have classes only 2 days a week. One day its a little late in the evening, and the other day its late in the afternoon, followed another one late in the evening. On other days I may be hopefully working in the daytime. My question is this: Would it be alright to wake up for Amritvela, do your ishnaan, Nitnem, and then go back to sleep for sometime before you start you day? I ask this because getting up at Amritvela and then going to class late in the evening or later afternoon would make one's body pretty tired and unable to concentrate. I know some may not agree with going back to sleep after Amritvela Nitnem, but du…

Karra Issues 1 2 3
by Guest Singh from London- 21 replies

Hello all, I'm a Sikh male based in London. I've been having problems with the 'karra' for quite a few years now. No matter what karra I wear my skin reacts to it and starts giving a rash of some sort. It really gets messed up. For this reason I have not worn a karra or any other bracelet for some time. At first I thought the inside may not be clean and germs may be contributing to it. I tried cleansing it on a regular basis but still no success. Then someone suggested applying oil to my arm where the karra sits. Still nothing. Physically my body is unable to tolerate the karra for any period longer than two hours. I spoke to some other sikh dude the other day and h…

I wanted to post this because some people on another thread called something like "don't judge monas" were very honest about their family background ie them keeping kesh and their fathers drinking, smoking and stuff. Well, I am from the reverse situation where my father is now amritdhari and I don't keep kesh. My point is this. My father is still one of the most heartless, stupid and cruel men I have met (and I have been about). So those guys who are pushing for guys to take amrit to solve all these problems we are having in the community are just plain simple. It is not a quick cure for all our problems. I'm not saying all amritdharis are like this and I know some that…
