Sahejdhari
by Guest guest- 1 reply

Hi there seems to be this idea that sikhi is for only for keshdaris or amritdharis. that if you are a sahejdhari you have at somepoint become amritdhari in order to be religous. keshdharies /amritdharis promote this idea heavily and when i was younger i thought it was true. but now, after years of study of SGGS, I don't think this is true. alot of sahejidharis don't want to keep kesh and still maintain complete faith in SGGS. don't think you have to keep kesh if you don't want to. don't do those things if they are not in your heart. just wanted to give this message to those who may be making the same mistake in thinking.

1984- Sikh genocide ,not just a “riot”
by Guest Truth- 1 reply

1984 has been used widely to drive a wedge between us Sikhs & Hindu but who was behind this heinous crime? Answer: The CONGRESS party which is highly a pro-Muslim/pro- Christian party, which oppresses Hindus as well as Sikhs. Though very cleverly,1984 has been known as 'Anti-Sikh Riots', it should have been correctively named as the 'Sikh Genocide' orchestrated by the ruling Congress Party. The 1984 Delhi Sikh genocide refers to a four-day pogrom that took place in various parts of India’s capital, New Delhi, causing the death of nearly 4,000 Sikhs. It followed the assassination on October 31, 1984 of Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, by her two Sikh bodyguards…

kesh Need Advice ?
by Guest Jay- 2 replies

I recently got back into Sikhi roughly 5-6 months ago. My mom was really happy and started telling people about it as a parent should. I recently felt a disconnect I don't know what happened but after waking up one day. I didn't feel like keeping my kesh. I never had a gutti, Turban, or kesh at all. I used to be mona for 24 yrs and only recently started to keep my kesh for 5 months. I feel like cutting my kesh in a couple of months because I feel this disconnect of not wanting to keep it long. Maybe its cause I have always been a mona and I'm most comfortable like that. I still believe in Sikhi and the values taught by our Guru Ji's but I just don't want to keep my kesh.…

Murder Politics.

WaheGuruuJeeKaKhalsaa WaheGuruuJeeKeeFateh Murder Politics. There are Some in Political Arenas that Are Very Very Dangerous. They Have Zero Value for Human Life. They Only Care for the Wealth in Their Homes. Know that ONE spark can Ignite an ENTIRE forest into Fire. Sparks can be Ignited in Secrecy without the Eyes of Society on Them. To Keep Their Control A Fire is Needed. They Need To Start a Fire in A Particular Geography. They Need a Spark to Justify the Fire. So They Plant the Sparks Themselves and Set the Momentums For the Fire. Good People Who Had Nothing to Do with Certain Actions are Blamed for the Terrorist Acts of the Political Elite. The Corrup…

Sikhs without Badal
by Guest singh- 0 replies

Has anybody thought of what Sikhs would be like without Badals or the Indian Government. For one Sikhs would be killing eachother left right and centre. Only because on little item does not sit well with a group that there I will kill you because do not practise Sikhi our way. It is line our way or the Hiway. Had Akal Takhat not be under control of these people we would have destroyed Akal Takhat ourselves. Guru Jee has Badals for a reason. Guru Jee does not want us to live without challanges. A true Gursikh will never ever want any sort of poltical power.

Hi I work in a bank and there is this pretty Sikh apni I rather fancied - she's always hanging around this Muslim guy at work which pees me off - so trying to embarrass him one day when the three of us were on lunch together- I said to the girl the guru Granth is the most authentic book as we still have it written in the gurus handwriting- she said I'm sure the Quran is well preserved aswell. I laughed and said they wrote it 200 years later -after their prophet- the Muslim guy then said it was written down a few years after their Prophet and it was persevered by memorisation by hundreds of followers during his life - then he said is the the SGGS part of God -…

neophyte mistakes
by Guest Haridas- 2 replies

What are some typical neophyte mistakes? The errors that people, youth etc make when trying to learn about Sikhi? Here are a few: 1. Looking for a sense of community/belonging instead of looking for truth/God. 2. Too much emphasis on history rather than spiritual practice (historical interest is fine, but don't neglect Naam Simran etc). 3. Too much involvement in politics or social problems, rather then spiritual interests. 4. Thinking too much about groups are doing, not enough about their individual journey. 5. Being waylaid by controversies and arguments, rather then concentrating on spiritual progress. 6. Thinking in terms of concepts …
