My mom won’t let me eat meat on Tuesdays or sundays because they are apparently holy days. She’s doesn’t let me eat beef which is really sad because I love steak. She says it's because it's a sacred animal according to Hindus, but we're Sikhs not Hindus. She takes me to the mandar and worships there and the gurdwara. Im getting confused because she asks the pandat about astronomy and is superstitius, but in Sikhism isn't that abolished. She also believed in the caste system and will only let me marry jatt. I dunno man my mom's picky and choosy with religion. So my ultimate question is, is it forbidden for Sikhs to eat beef or meat on Tuesdays and Sundays? I kno…

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh i just want to spill my heart out that today after our kirtan smagam at an university i was randomly asked by someone to do ardas afterwards I answered with a yes. But when i satrted doing ardas after kirtan i was blank i forget the ardas I don’t know how and completed it all on a very bad note. It was very humiliating for me that I can’t even do an ardas being an amritdhari sikh i should have done it smoothly but I can’t and moreover as i do ardas for karah prasad no one was there i waited and again repeat it but no one came which turns the things into more blunder. Everyone was laughing at me afterwards, some were disappoi…

Babur Bani The fight against social and political injustice has historically been an integral part of Sikhism. As a religious leader Guru Nanak did not turn a blind eye to political supression or consider it outside the realm of religion, but undertook political protest through his writings, speaking out against the cruelty of rulers. Guru Nanak wrote a number of passages about the Mughal invasion of India by Babur and the brutalities that he eyewitnessed first hand (Babur Bani). Guru Nanak also spoke out about the suffering of people at the hands of unscrupulous rulers and government officials (Rag Asa, pg. 360) Having attacked Khuraasaan, Babar terrified Hindu…

Hello,Many thanks in advance for reading this and helping. I need some advice as I don't have many people in my life who are in touch with Sikhi. I am a 27 year old and have been in a long distance relationship for almost seven years. The guy is genuine, caring and he has never had a girlfriend before. He isnt like other guys or lustful either. His intentions have always been good and we have never had any issues the last seven years like normal couples do (e.g. trust, other girls, jealousy etc) he is very down to earth and has supported me in my new jobs, at university finding books for me, when i was unwell finding me medicines etc. He has treated me like a family membe…

I want to help my best friend, I want to know if Gurbani has a tukk or explanation about situation like this: My best friend recently told me about a guy she dates online, there is no sexual relation and nor she is thinking of doing anything like that, I do trust her in this. She has been married for 21 years and have 3 kids. According to her, her married life is very normal, good, no fights with her husband but she clams that she have found a person who she can talk about love or share things (again, I am not talking about sexual related things). Also she says her husband is simple guy who doesn't think too much about emotions of any kind so he have never shared anythin…

Hi there everyone, sangat in Orangeville have officially setup up a gurdwara in a small town called Orangeville, Ontario Canada under the name of Mata Gujari Ji Sikh Temple. Just trying to get the word out to everyone hopefully some individuals live in the Dufferin county area that use this site. The Gurdwaras does not have a Nishan Sahib yet, we have to get permission from the town to be able to put at the front of the property, as we are in the process of trying to change the zoning as well. Zoning change should not be an issue due to the neighbouring properties beside the Gurdwara is all commercial. If you live in the towns of Orangeville, Grand Valley, Shelburne, Mulm…

I know its Pakistan but the situation is identical in Punjab, India. Looking at his documentary i couldn't help but think what a waste of money. Pathetic. The worst part is when he says when the parents die the first thing the kids do is sell the building and take the money for themselves.

An American went to an Indian island to preach Jesus and Christianity to the natives who have happily been living on the island or 30,000 years without Jesus in their lives. They cut up the American christian and probably cooked him in a pot and ate home for dinner. Now....I'm a vegetarian and would not normally condone the eating of meat but.,...on this occassion, I fully support their meat-eating. https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/who-are-sentinelese-60000-yr-old-tribe-focus-after-american-john-chau-s-death-92014
