  1. Its a shame the thread's going off the specific topic into a personal feud between 2 indviduals. For the sake of the issue, I beg the 2 guys to carry on elsewhere. Within the peripheries of the Gurdwara Sahib Gurmat must prevail. Theres no excuse for that not happening whatsoever. These are controllable boundaries for Sikh maryada, outside these physical boundaries one can argue that Manmat is highly likely to dominate. Our Gurdwaras are the central hubs of our Sikhi. The activities which take place in these Gurdwara give direction to millions of Sikhs on how to conduct their lives. If our hubs are disciplined then we leave little room for corruption to set in. If our hubs allow immoral activities to set in then no doubt the congregation are likely to be influenced or use the immoral activities to justify un-Sikh activities. This Satkaar campaign is a simple request to keep the Gurdwara property a pavitar place. A pavitar place where papis like me are blessed with Amrit not barcadi or whiskey. If people who have appointed themselves custodians of these Gurdwaras (i.e. the Committee) are unable to see the moral dilemma they cause by promoting alcohol, meat and parties, then hopefully Gurbani will guide them. If they fail to understand Gurbani then hopefully a Sandesh will guide them. If that fails then hopefully Sangat pressure will guide them. In simple terms. There is no excuse to allow alcohol, meat etc. on the premises of any Gurdwara complex.

  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In the 1920-30s there was an English captain who had a very spiritual mind set although he was not aligned to any religion in particular. One time as he had set sail in the Indian Ocean with the rest of his crew the ship hit some problems during bad weather. As a consequence of this he issued an order for the crew to abandon the ship. Rather than think about saving himself the captain went around the ship looking for crew members whilst constantly keeping the name of Akaal Purakh on his lips. As he was doing this he kept humbly doing an ardas to Akaal Purakh to save his ship. By keeping the name of Akaal Purakh the captain felt Waheguru’s presence and went into great Anand. Needless to say the ship did not sink. How could it when Akaal Purakh himself was holding it? When the captain reached India he decided to do a yatra of all the major religious asthans to see if he could experience that same Anand. The captain visited many deras, churches, mosques and mandirs. Eventually he found his way to Punjab and the home of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Raam Das Ji Maharaj, Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib Ji. As the captain entered Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib Ji he felt that same Anand emitting from the house of Guru Sahib and tears began to fall from his eyes. After bowing in reverence to Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj the captain began to walk around the parkarma in the wrong direction. He was met by the Saint Scholar Dr Bhai Vir Singh Ji. The captain narrated his story to Bhai Sahib and told him how his sister was the one who initially told him to repeat the name of Akaal Purakh. The captain said, “My sister Julia was a very spiritually driven person who told me that whenever I was in trouble I should repeat the name of God as this is the only thing which could provide people with aid. She used to keep a mala and constantly repeat God’s name.” The captain went on to share stories of his sister and her discourses. One of these discourses that he told to Bhai Sahib was as follows: “One day when I was speaking to my sister she told me that people who repeat the name of God will cry and those who don’t repeat the name of God will also cry!” Bhai Sahib looked at the captain and asked him to explain. The captain went on and said, “I too did not understand but my sister said that those who repeat the name of God will cry as they will regret the time that they wasted in not repeating his name. Those who don’t repeat the name of God will cry once they leave this earth when they find out that the name of God is the only thing which could have saved them”. 3. those were the days when there was no 'hindu' dharam, it was empire against empire or kingdom against kingdom, this wasnt a organised war. why i say this is , if the hindus who number 100 crore today, were also in good numbers then too, had they this capacity the mughals wouldnt have ruled hindustan for 1000 years nor would have the british dreamt to set foot on the indian soil . The allegation that the hindus are planning to wipe out the panth cannot be agreed since if the hindus were that strong or wanting to do this they wouldnt have even allowed the panth to ever exist. today we may blame some kings for wiping out buddhism, however if you read history you will understand that what happened was a boon in disguise. those were the times when this entire country was like 80% buddhist, had this percentage not decreased you and me wouldnt have been what we are today, the reason being the islamic invasion took place and they not only finished buddhist kingdoms, they converted them to islam. Afghanistan is big example, similiarly south east asia too. indira gandhi khan and rahul khan have been not only anti sikh they have been anti hindu too, the hindus too dont like them much. there are apne in congress too, i dont know when will apne learn.
