  2. Did anyone else take notice that langars in North America (and maybe Europe - never been there) are usaully very rich - many dishes , paneer lots of sweets, smosas etc. This creates a bad incentive for people to come just looking for satiating their tongue rather than the spirit. Langar halls have way more 'sangat' comapred to darbar halls. Wonder what this does to the morale of keeranias and kathawachaks. In India langar is very simple - daal and roti and mabye achaar at the most ...

  3. 1.whatever Darshanu wants to do.....its N-O-T an amrit sanchar and will never be. 2.Since I know some missionaries myself. This idea of doing amirt sanchar without Dasam Bani has alway been there in the missionary circles. They just didn't have a clue :surrender: of "what 5 banis" missionaries wanted to read. Well now Darshanu has defined it for them now :toohappy: :toohappy: :toohappy: 3. seems like he want to revive the debates again ....I mean you need the fuel to start the fire right? 4. its seems like his attempt to show the middle finger to the panth by saying, "You have excomunicated me, what can you do now?" :strong:

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Article from http://asrandhawa.wordpress.com/ (May 2, 2014) Australia made history when it welcomed a mass murderer from India Amitabh is an alleged mass murderer, a perpetrator of 1984 Sikh genocide. Today Australia has announced scholarship on his name, the day is not far when Australia may declare another scholarship to honor Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Goebals. If a mass murderer of India can be honored, why not Nazis? Amitabh the alleged mass murder couldn’t dare to enter in Princess theater but chose back door, made mockery of agitators on stage inside, protesting against him outside in the venue. Kaur, who lost members of her family for no fault of theirs, recollects the incident, “I watched the live relay on Doordarshan and saw Amitabh Bachchan shouting the slogan – ‘Khoon ka badla khoon se lenge!‘. And everyone who saw the live telecast would know how Amitabh Bachchan provoked the riots.” The violence led to huge personal loss for Kaur – her husband and son were murdered as she watched, killed by a frenzied mob inside her house in West Delhi on November 1, 1984. Sadly, she also lost her three brothers, who were burnt to death. Racial vilification is the term in the legislation of Australia that refers to a public act that encourages or incites others to hate people because of their race, nationality, country of origin, colour or ethnic origin. Public acts of this type are illegal according to e.g., the Racial Vilification Act 1996 of South Australia. So, why has Australia chosen to ignore its principles and embrace a man accused of instigating Sikh genocide?

  6. I think all right minded Sikhs are now waiting for all those community elders and organisation members present on that sad day at Derby Gurdwara to distance themselves from this persons comments and behaviour. Inside closed doors a person may do as they please within reason and harbour whichever views he or she wishes. But to say such shocking, harmful, evil words in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the sangat is unacceptable. I think if the leaders are serious about following the Gurus teachings, protecting our image, setting the right example to the next generation then this should be referred to the Akal Takhat for them to make a decision on, such is the gravity of what happened. This would send out the signal that we do not adhere to mere words but those words speak through our actions. I think this is a landmark event. Nothing of this type has ever happened before from a U.K Gurdwara stage or indeed probably a Gurdwara stage anywhere. This will also prove to our brothers and sisters who feel alienated because of such people that we are not all the same. It will be interesting to see what step is now taken.

  7. Life is about being not doing. Its about what you are being when you are doing something? You could be doing anything but are you being anxious, arrogant, selfish , loving, compassionate...... What you are being is what you feel . Ironically we call ourself human being not human doing. Sikhism per my understanding is about being. You can have all the riches and comfort but you should always have your priorities in order. Knowing as Guru Teg Bahadur says in most of his vairag sabads life is an illusion, nothing you see is real. Its just what you think you are in reference to something. Its like we give importance to things based on our priorities. Based on our minds We are making it all up.
