  1. I am correcting a typing error in one of the above paragraphs here as follows ....... Approach the BRI/Southmead hospitals and offer them to tell any Sikh patients that there is a Sikh willing to pray for them while they are warded and b4/after operations. Also ring the local student unions to find out if there are Sikh societies at U.W.E AND U.B and City of Bristol Colege and attend their meetings, and go forward in giving talks on Sikhism........
  2. Sukhjeevan Singh Jee, I promised you an instalment about this whole issue. Here it is... You need to stay focussed on the wider implication of now being an Amritdharee Sikh. It means you have surrendered your soul to Gurujee and now are HIS child, HIS servant, HIS ambassador, HIS slave. It means you have started walking of becoming a saint-soldier. It means you have received and taken on a beautiful life of being a naam-focussed person. You have taken this option, instead of becoming a materialistic person selling his soul to his desires and putting a curtain between yourself and Guru. In your new life, Gurujee, unseen to your eyes stands before you looking after you and caring for you, no matter if you are in bristol or amritsar or washington. How exciting is that!!!! Its awesome! You should be laughing in joy uncontrollably, because heaven has smiled upon you and have been chosen. Life and death have lost their power over you. The cycle and chains of karmas and past lifes have been broken. All you need to do now is to love Gurujee, Gurbani and Gurnam and be a Gursikh. The dewy dawn has broken into the evening of your sorrows! Dont let this joy be robbed by constant mind boggling fuming and fretting about the nitty gritties of maryada and the ingredients of food. You have chosen a new lifestyle, so it will take a while to work out how to be more alert, careful and wise in matters of food and drink etc. Even when i migrated to this country many years ago it took me a while to adapt , likewise as i grow older, im having to adapt to a body which was different when i was young. When i started working here, when i started a business etc etc it took me a while to work out my sikhi lifestyle according to my changed circumstances. You do not need to walk around like a guilthy person and keep panicing every second day. Every now and then, you may say. do or think something which you later realise is not befitting your new lifestyle, but that is part of your learning curve, part of growing up , part of gaining experience and wisdom . When you were a baby u kept falling as you learning to stay upright and walk, but you didnt give up!!! you were so excited that you didnt need to crawl , but could quickly learn how to walk . When i learned swimming , i kept sinking in the water but i didnt give up!!!! i knew i will sooner or later swim and i was excited because swimming is great fun! The best naam dhirh is that you make it a point to chant Waheguru a lot! i mean a lot! set aside specific times especially during amritvela to chant waheguru. Dont get bogged down by specific techniques . it does not matter if you sit or stand and chant , whether you chant with your tongue or with your breathe or loudly or silently, fast or slow . What really matters is you use simran to communicate and praise God and Gurujee with all your heart and all your love , knowing God and Gurujee is with you. Thats the best way to dhirh or ''drill'' naam into your consciousness. Its not about needing to get amrit from akj or visiting a ''mahapurukh'', its about doing your homework of simran big time as you walk, talk, eat, sleep and awake. You seem to have told yourself there are 5 obstacles in your amritdharee life i.e.......1) being 16, 2) being sillier than others, 3)having non amritdharee parents, 4)living in bristol, 5) being in a strict private school. Actually you have every reason to be laughing in glee because these 5 aint obstacles but 5 great oppurtunities!!!! I'll tell you why now..... Being 16 is great!! did you see the zac efron film --Seventeen Again? it means your body is fresh and young , more flexible and agile . you will be able to travel to programmes easily, learn keertan , gatka , gurbani fast because your brain is young and fresh. at least yu can look forward to a whole life as an amritdharee. others suffer all their life and only receive amrit just before dying. at your age , its so easy to quickly memorise large amounts of bani and chant loadz n loadz . At my age, my body is like an old house that squeeks and creaks, and a pain can just appear from no where right in the middle of amritvela !!!! Feeling sillier and more careless than others is good because it makes you more humble and will help you be more alert, less complacent and more attentive in the long run. Having non-amritdharee parents means you are the chosen ''special '' child in that family planted in that family to rescue that family . Wow! you remember the film, SHINING, where that's a divine child who saves his mother from evil. Living in Bristol is great!!! Its a relatively low crime city, with very little racism, and with 4 -5 gurudwaras. You should study hard at school because after A levels, you could go to University of Bristol which is among the top 3 universities in this country for most courses and top 5 for the rest. Its going to become a very important and leading city in UK in your generation in the next 10 years for reasons i can tell you later. It has loads of vegan, vegeterian, , organic and asian and oriental shops, and a mixed population where you can walk around at peace in dastar/keshkee and kurta. There a quite a few blessed sikhs there though at your age you may not have noticed because blessed people dont advertise themselves, and they are scattered among the various gurudwaras there. Also, you need see Bristol as a place for gurmat preaching among your school m8s and so many people there. Do in Bristol what Yoji Bhajan did in california. Take your white and other m8s with you to gurudwara . they would luv to be invited and eat tasty vegeteraian langar. write out simple tracts on sikhism and distribute them on saturday around broadmead and cabot circus and cribbs causseway. Let others know about sikhi. Distribute messages of hope and of Guru Nanak's saving power to the prostitutes along Easton, the drug addicts around St Paul, the rich around Clifton, the poor in Bedminster. Approach the BRI/Southmead hosp (with the student unions) to find out if there are Sikh societies at U.W.E AND U.B and City of Bristol Colege and attend their meetings, and go forward in giving talks on Sikhism. Start sikh naujawan satsangs in every gurudwara in bristol or in just one, and use facebook/myspace to network with other young Sikhs in Bristol/Bath /Cardiff /Swindon/Oxford. Bhai Randhir Singh brought people close to Sikhism sitting for 17 odd years in an evil prison!!!!!!! he doesnt rant about being in prison in his writings and biography. And thank God for your private school. Its evident in the intelligent, exciting, unpredictable, funky way you write and think, like ''BLOOM'' who replied to your posts. You both should write books on Sikhism in the expressive style of your generation which is very explosive, original and dynamic, looking at Sikhi in even more exciting ways than people of my generation. Also please learn languages such as italian, german, french and spanish, norwegian and chinese. then you can preach to naujawans in gurdwaras in all these countries. Likewise there are people in bristol who teach tabla, gurmat sangeet and gurbani. You just need to search. So i hope you get your mind off little things and focus on the bigger picture of the MAGIC of being an amritdharee.
  3. WJKK,WJKF sangat jeeo there was a post on here sometime ago of some 3ho related business in USA that makes beautiful palkis, manjee sahibs, palangs , takht posh, from glass and wood material etc for SGGS . i book marked it but seemed to have lost it . please give me the link if u know it .
  4. its the female thats used esp the pregnant ones if u research into it deeper. 150,000 of these insects produce a kilo of the dye .
  5. KAL TARAN GUR NANAK AEYA , and SABAN MEET HUM APAN KIYA, HUM SABNA KEH SAJAN (gurbani verse)
  6. and oh! to add further, there are 5 important obvious reasons why the goverment which controls and dictates to the judiciary, allowed the decision to be taken that non-muslims can use the word Allah, i.e 1) to please the Americans who defend christian interests overseas, as Malaysia is trying to win favour for a huge trade agreement between m'sia and US . 2)to present a false picture that the m'sian judiciary is independent, since a major court case implicating Anwar for homosexuality is around the corner, for which the goverment wants to repeat itself and lock him away for many years to come and weaken the opposition , as electionsare near 3) to please christians in the state of sabah ,in order to hold power in that state 4) to take away attention from the murder of the mongoloid model by right hand men of the prime minister 5)to cause a break up of the opposition The Sikhs leaders who decided to back the christians and highlight nation-wide(through the court battle) that Allah appears in Sikh scriptures have foolishly waded themselves in this silly mess and made Sikhs a target for religous attacks unnecesssarily, now they beg for calm when the milk has been spilt!! I am saying this because the goverment at the highest circles has always known that Sikhs use the word Allah and there has been an unofficial silence and acceptance of this matter, ask any high ranking Sikh civil service or army officer and he will tell you. Muslims do not evesdrop and do secret surveillance of sikh gurudwaras to see whats going on there. So in our own privacy, for 100 odd years we have been singing shabads using Allah without a problem in gurdwaras . This has been about the last of our problems as there is a general respect for sikhs in malaysia because we bear some resemblance to muslims -turbans and beards , and our forefathers created a good name for ourselves there, and the genrations that continued have upheld this respect . In 1980 , the new prime minister at a speech to sikhs, praised Sikhs as being a resilient, hardworking , private, and benevolent community. Political astuteness and godly wisdom would have told these sikh leaders who chose to publicly back the christians, that they were better off shutting up their mouths and leave the christians(backed by the europeans and americans) tp fight their own battle, and instead try to squeeze out as much as possible from the goverment for better education and employment for sikhs. But short-sightedness, and unnecessary nervousness made them decide wrongly and now is payback time. Now that our secret is out in the open, we have a lot of explaining to do( as to why we use Allah minimalistically and without intentions to convert) and tread very carefully on girly muslim sensitivities, and all we can pray is for time. Given time, this issue in the short term may heat up even more, and more gurudwaras may come under attack . But soon, this issue will be replaced by another issue and will be forgotten. No reason to panic. Just stay calm and out of the public eye as much as possible, thats my advice to any malaysian sikh leader caught up in this situation. Repair your house and keep your head down a bit, and step up a few well -publicised welfare activities to appear benevolent and non intimidating to Muslims.
  7. The root cause of this problem is the goverment of malaysia itself. Malaysia is about 70% muslim but statistics get massaged to bump up the muslim numbers. Further, the ruling coalition is mainly controlled by a muslim party called UMNO which has ruled the country since 1957 . Now, this party is the Aurangzeb of Malaysia. Umno leaders from whom the majority of the country's leaders come, say they are muslims but they are sons of the devil, no exxageration. Forget about Sikh temples and the controversy about Allah, they even falsely accuse the muslim leader of the opposition i.e anwar ibrahim of homosexuality when it is blatantly clear that he is straight with a devout wife who is a doctor as well as has a couple of very god loving daughters. they have put this man i jail and beaten him up several times over false charges. In the name of Islam , they rape the country of its oil wealth and transfer the cash to their own private bank accounts across the world . Even Joe Biden, USA Vice President has written to the Malaysian goverment to voice its suspicions that the ongoing trial of Anwar is politically motivated. The above mentioned prime minister is involved in a murder case of a mongoloid woman who was his secret mistress and this is being covered up . Yet this people, to maintain power have used Islam as a tool to control this nation since 1957. They have played the religion card at every election to win , apart from rigging the elections sucessfully. Yet this are the same people who pray 5 times/day, do their haj, zakat and rozas -utter hypocrisy . They have projected themselves as ultra-islamists to maintain power , and given a free hand to the state religous departments to allow open conversion of sikhs and others to islam. recently a sikh body was buried under muslim rites in a muslim cemetery. Now the very people who are responsible for stoking religous tension for 50 years are the ones calling for calm!-what hypocrisy is that! The real reason for this is that the UMNO led goverment is using this issue to cause a serious fissure within the oppposition as elections are drawing near., since the opposition includes a radical Islamic party(PAS), a moderate Islamic party and some non muslim parties . The ISA mentioned in the article above is a tool used by the goverment to stiffle opposition, not to arrest muslims dead loyal to UMNO, even if they bombed a sikh temple! This country should have been governed by responsible, honest, secular leaders ensuring religous and racial harmony for the last 50 years and ensuring minorities their religous rights. Then the incident mentioned would not have happened. Another cause of this problem, trust you me, are the leaders of the malaysian sikhs themselves. They have spent 50 years sucking up to this corrupt aurangzeb style muslim goverment, instead of playing a more proactive role and sticking up for the rights of sikhs in the country in a clear and bold manner. but why not? these are namesake sikhs given to booze and merry making , having flashy cars and priding themselves as ''pardhans''!. They have failed to unite to present a common front and have behaved like shy ladies on an afternoon walk in articulating and presenting forth the needs, rights, and demands of sikhs. Sikhs are disadvantaged in more than one way in malaysia thanks to the above mentioned problems i have summarised in brief, for which volumes more can be said. Sikhs in malaysia are openly discriminated in education, employment, licensing, the civil service and so forth. This incident is only the tip of the iceberg.
  8. K.SINGH DEEP You have somehow confused that shabad about gursatgur ka jo sikhi...... with the import of the philosophy of Amrit. You should have read that post in its entirety, as well all other posts in this thread to get a drift of what is being discussed, then you would not have judged so quickly at face value that an ego-centric statement was being implied. Do read PARASPRASNA by Kapur Singh as a basic book for an indepth understanding of what i have tried to explain....or volumes 1, 2 , and 3 of Spirit of the Sikh by professor Puran Singh, or backdated lectures/kathas of the utter fiery Gyani Maan Singh Jhaur. Guru Gobind Singh was not creating a ''nursery'' institution when HE arranged and administered Khande da Pahul in April 1699, thats where you are theologically very wrong. Guru Gobind Singh was creating an institution/ a resurrection hub for the death of mere mortals to be reborn in that one singular act as warrior saints, as Khalsas , as people with a new direction, a new purpose, a new focus, a new psyche, a new mandate and a new calling on their life! Thats what you are given in that one divine supernatural act! You walk away as a totally new person. You DO NOT walk away as a sinner no more, you walk away with a new head, you walk away with the greatest honour and privilege that can be accorded to any human being on earth from the throne room of God and Guru. You do not walk away with a little set of dos and donts and some miniscule formulas to memorise for living, you walk away with a brand new lifestyle, a totally new mindset, a totally new psyche! AS you walk away, you walk away no more as a materialistic lazy egoistic self-serving person , not believing and loving God. On the contrary you walk away as a Warrior Saint! and with the mentality of a Warrior Saint . Read the biography of Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh to this effect or Ramajee, Southall. m Now what does a warrior saint do? Thats where the shabad you quoted comes into play. A Warrior Saint, a Khalsa, a Sant Sipahee, an angel, does not live in a struggle but, automatically, due to his/her new nature and new found love, does exactly what Gur Ramdas Maharaj says in the shabad you quoted................i.e Such a saint has lost his love for long nights of sleep, but indeedy very very excitedly wakes up , washes, does simran , reads gurbani, cleanses his mind, pumps himself up with even more nectar, and so forth.'' ' You need to interpret that shabad in this deeper context. That shabad is not giving a hinduistic , religoustic formula to some tender infant in some religous institution. That shabad is describing ecstatically the state of being of a Sikh, of a warrior saint , of a khalsa , once Gurujee has grabbed that person's struggling fingers and made that person HIS own darling. Further to your point, yes indeedy , Sikhi is about utter humility, hence the greatest of Sikhs will say i'm no body, and of course, Sikhi is a life-long learning curve, no argument there, but.... that is not the issue being highlighted in my post if you were to contemplate at a deeper level the purport of my post. We need to do justice to the high and mighty institution of Amrit . Amrit creates not kintergardens and nursery schools but Amrit creates mighty Singhs i.e ruthless lions with lion power! Amrit transforms doves into eagles and hawks . That does not take a million light years. That takes Guru Gobind Singh a split second to take old life and give new life. Learning about that new life could billions of years , thats another issue.
  9. Bhenjee Amarjit Kaur Jee, You have understood it well, that the root cause of the way we are misdirecting Khalsa Panth today is forgetfullness, as well as our ego. A very integral part of being in chardikela is to be in a state of tyaar-b-tyaar i.e to be ready for action. This is ingrained in Sikhi living by wanting to take a cold shower even in winter, so our senses and mind are fully awake and fresh, then to add on to that freshness and inner- awakedness through nitnem and simran, etc, so our minds are not dull , but washed pure by the amrit of Gurbanee, so our minds are sparkling with God's light which gives us heightened intellect and intuition and mental, physical , and spiritual prowess. Khalsa living is about WAKING UP! from slumber, forgetfulness, sleep, laziness, complacency, and sloth. Khalsa living is to be ARMED to the teeth with humbleness, braveness, mental and physical power, and with Naam power. Khalsa living is about being in continous ACTION, while in meditation. This is the direction we need to take, i.e to be awake, armed and in action. This is because khalsa panth is not just some religion you make your comfort zone, within which you slothfully define yourself, and squirm in a little self-centred existence. Khalsa Panth represents God's Army of Heaven's Angels on earth!!!!!! Angels called SANT SIPAHEES !!! WAH! WARRIOR SAINTS! and no one worth 2 pence who says he/she is a Sikh can in anyway afford NOT to make this the sole and only purpose of their existence, else they are namesake Sikhs, amritchekya or not amritchekyea. Angels have nothing to do with ego! angels have everything to do with living selflessly, to serve God's creation and to be fearless and humble in one place. Angels DO NOT stay in one place! Angels float and move around swayed by the Wind of God's Pleasure and Command! Angels are not racist, judgemental, political, or religous people who worry about money in the bank and mortgages and pensions! Angels are just ANGELS!!! They live for a beautiful purpose, they manifest for a purpose and when they are done, they are gone! Now thats what we are supposed to be! Guru Gobind Singh created the KHALSA AKAL PURUKH KI FAUJ i.e The Army of Warrior Saints BUT this process was started by Guru Nanak Dev who promised ........ BLHAREE GUR APNE DEOHAREE SAD VAAR, JINH MANAS TEH DEVTEH KIEH , KRTH NA LAGEE //!!! You heard that.... MANAS TEH DEVTEH KIEH, i.e Satgur transforms and translates mere mortals into angels! A simple, very indeed simple question to ask ourselves is '''Am I an angel , yes or no''. Indeed, a Sikh has to be utterly humble and consider himself/herself as nothing but a lowly servant of God, BUT there have to be certain days when you look at what you just said, did, and thought, and can tell yourself ''WOW!!!! that wasn't the OLD UGLY me but the NEW ANGELIC me ''. You gotta feel an angelic vibration flowing through your words, actions and deeds. You gotta to be able to touch someone, and feel God within you touching that person with the tenderest of love. You gotta to be able to look at the person who annoys you the most and feel God playing a game, hiding within that person, and seeing what you will do as HE playfully annoys you through that person. You gotta to see God disguising himself in anyone and everyone around you, testing your reaction. You cannot afford to walk around just thinking self-centredly that YOU are a Sikh belonging to so and so religion, belonging to a sub category of humans. NO! you need to rise above yourself and realise you were created to be a Warrior Saint and that is your calling in life..... a Warrior Saint with a given mandate you gotta accomplish before you are taken away quick and fast. This fact, that you were created to be a WARRIOR SAINT, are becoming a WARRIOR SAINT, and live just to be a WARRIOR SAINT, has to consume you night and day, and inspire you night and day. Your every next little step, has to be in the direction of being a WARRIOR SAINT, a SANT SIPAHEE. Sikhism is not about a struggle , a daily little struggle to get up, to pray, a struggle to be good etc etc etc-thats just your old little you!, not the warrior saint in you. Get above it, be a lio, stop your struggles and live as a lion/lioness. The day you took AMRIT , warrior sainthood was imputed INTO you, you were held by your hair, beheaded and a new YOU was created!!! Look at the BAISAKHI of 1699 to understand what I mean. GURU GOBOND SINGH MAHARAJ DOES NOT do things in half measures!! GURU GOBIND SINGH is not in the business of creating some tender struggling weak Sikhs who struggle with everything from amrit vela to eating too much to hero worshipping others!! GURU GOBIND SINGH has held you by your hair, whether or not you realise it, chopped off your head, put a BRAND NEW head on, aimed a MASSIVE shot of AMRIT within your soul to keep you buzzing n buzzing n buzzing n buzzing!!!!!! DECLARED you a warrior saint !!!!!!! now go...... and be a warrior saint, dwell in a constant consciousness that you are a warrior saint and just be one !!!!!!! This is what AMRIT meant, nothing less! .......... SATGUR MERA MAAR JEWALEH!!!!!! You weren't even for a moment created to live a little ''your'' life of 'your nitnem'' or ''your simran'' or '' your maryada'' ...... with which you struggle because of ''you'' !! The day you became a Khalsa, you were propelled into a totally different state of warrior saint consciousness!! This new superhuman, angelic state of consciousness was given rightaway at that one magical moment when you were ruthlessly and lovingly beheaded!, whether or not you realised it, because all you may have seen is some ritual before your eyes, not what was REALLY TAKING PLACE!! GURU GOBIND SINGH did not give Amrit in 1699 and retire away in peace!! HE EVER LIVES and HE HAS NOT STOPPED REPEATING THAT PROCESS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN since that first occasion!! thats what HE did to you on that day, when you were taking AMRIT. HE ''WAS!'' THERE, RIGHT THERE, TREATING YOU NO LESS THE WAY THE 5 ORIGINAL PIARAS WERE TREATED. SO BE LIKE THEM . They aint your dead and gone heroes!!!!!! they are your LIVING BROTHERS! they do not want you to hero worship them, they wanna you hug them because you got exactly to the dot wot they got!! Khalsa Jee, we are a panth of Sant Sipahees, we are WARRIOR SAINTS, We are God's Angels. Now, let us get on with serving humanity irrespective of race, religion, colour and creed and let us unite as brothers and sisters of one family with a very very very very important mandate on our head! Let this be, so so so so xciting that everyone wants to become a sant sipahee. We are not in the business of living little sheltered lifes, we are in the business of making humans angels!!!
  10. Bloom Jee, You have the rapping style and poetic flaw, i.e the lyrics, and all you need now is the music to go with it, if you have watched the film, Music and Lyrics to understand the wonderful, exciting relationship between music and lyrics hehe . Then you can rap all this, beautifully for us all. We need to always create beautiful forms of expression for beaming Sikhi to the world. I have mentioned it b4 , how inspiring it was to have read the daily habits of Bhai Sahib Bhai Veer Singh , whereby he awoke extremely early , soaked himself in nitnem, simran, and Gurbani, then in the dewy hours of the night wrote his wonderful poetry and essays that surpass the talents of shakespeare, blake and walt whitman!!!! And you have stumbled upon the notes of the harp I have been strumming, hehe, that Sikhi is about LIFE, not about bickerings, quarrels, arguments, religous boxing in. As people visit this website, I do not wish to see this website degenerate itself into a breaking news channel about the latest this and the latest that. This website has far more to offer beyond that! This website and other Sikh websites should be pushing the boundaries of our understanding of Sikhi, reinventing Sikhi parchar using every means of emerging technologies, and giving youths millions of ideas how to be the greatest parcharaks of Sikhi where they are in their individual capacities. People from all races and religions, not just Sikhs! need to be able to visit this website and be filled with awe that indeedi , Sikhism is GOD'S MOST PRECIOUS GIFT TO MANKIND!, that SIKHI is THE answer to the problems of this world . Dhan Dhan Gur Amardas Maharaj was under no illusion when HE proclaimed in raag bhairoh (p.1131) ....KAL MEH PRET JINI RAM NA PECHATA...... KAL MEH RAM NAM VDEAEE, and on p.1132 ......BAJH GURU J-GT BAURANA BHULA CHOTAA KHAEE....MERE MAN SDAH RAHO SATGUR KI SERNAI!!!!!!! VAH GUR VAH! .......This Gurbani verses aint just words!!!! These are God's darts aimed at our thick skulls to wake us up as to what we got. Every now and then, its the season for a REVIVAL! I remember in the early 70s, a lot of things were going downhill for us . There was a Sikhi, very very punjabee based, whilst the upcoming generation's grasp of the punjabee language, especially in foreign countries was going down- hill. But through Guru's kirpa suddenly a million different things started igniting and sparking at once across the world! All across the world, somehow magically Sikh societies started sprouting in schools, coleges and universities, wise Sikhs started to organise samelans and youth camps everywhere from Malaysia, Singapore till Canada. There in the USA, whites started to become Sikhs, books and tracts, pamplets on Sikhism started to be printed more widely in English . Harban Singh's Nitnem, Sukhmani , and Asa ki // translations became easily available . Sikhs in faraway places like Malaysia started to print keertan shabads for the sangat, youths started to organise weekly youth satsangs. Meantime, ragees like Bhai Gopal Singh started introducing a more simple form of keertan that could be easily understood and sung along with , Meantime, the new technologies of that day meant that through the casette format, people could now import the keertan and path in gurudwaras into their homes. Suddenly you could now pass across the house of Sikhs and hear keertan blasting away . Movies like Nanak Naam Jehaj Hai and Dukh Bhanjan Tera Naam were beamed to sangats around the world!!!! Apart from the famous Ragee Rajinder Singh from Singapore, and Dharam Singh Zakhmee, even non Sikhs like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan joined in to show how beautiful and inspiring Gurbani Keertan is! Groups like AKJ and Dodra started highlighting how energising Simran is .. and how vital . Parcharaks like Maan Singh Jhaur and Sant Singh Maskeen showed how powerful the katha of Gurbani is. Come the 80s and another REVIVAL was automatically born! in 1984(saka SRI HARMANDIR SAHIB), as Sikhs started wising up about the hinduization of Sikhi and started focussing on Gurpurabs rather than divali, and got energised in fervour listening to Sant Jernail Singh Jee. Today its 2010, and the time has arrived for the next wave!!! Now the time has arrived for the party to start. And it starts from this website! I beg all young Sikhs to start pumping this site with inspiring , exciting fresh ways of expressing your Sikhi love on this site . I want people to come to this site and read something fresh, something that makes Sikhi luv jump into their brains in an instant. Lets not rant about our woes no more, let us not keep letting out our little brain farts, let us not hijack this site to keep our little wars alive! This site has to become an exciting party where anyone could click and listen live to someone doing nitnem , someone doing simran , someone doing keertan etc instantly. This site has to be a site where you can refer all your non Sikh friends to visit daily to understand and be inspired about Sikhism . A lot of veers/bhenjees on this site posted beautiful extracts from Bhai Nand Lal etc on Guru Gobind Singh's Avtar Purab just gone past, but how many of us actually shared that with our non Sikh friends . How many of us told the story of Guru Gobind Singh(GGS) to a non Sikh on GGS birthday . How many of us took a non Sikh m8 to a gurudwara on GGS bday. Now this is what i mean. Its no use just coming here and cutting and pasting and then living your life in a state of complacency about parchar. If indeed what you cut and paste blows away your mind, why are you not printing it out and sharing it out with a load of non Sikhs. Why are you not inviting the closest of your non Sikh m8s to go with you to a Sikhi camp this summer coming. Is it because you wanna keep GGS as just your private little DADDY !!!!!!! We see millions of new films like Avatar, and we study film studies and animation courses but we are behind in starting little individual projects of little animations and dramas we could post superflously on youtube. We see emerging wonderful singers like Joe McElderry (XFactor) or Regina Spektor, but why dont we incorporate their wonderful singing styles to make the keertan we do, the most ecstatic form of music that we could sing, record and share with people with whom we study, live or work of all races and colours. Why cannot we do keertan on guitars that surpasses the talents of John Mayer and Newton Faulkner (glastonbury ) and also hip hop styles like Jay C . No! we hide behind excuses that we are copycats only worthy of repeating the way the older generation did things. We hide behind excuses that we have our own problems to sort out then to need to worry about the next non Sikh. We study philosophy and psychology, english literature and physics, we work as IT professionals , as doctors and lawyers, but none of that is expressed in writing beautiful new essays on Sikhism, in helping to reduce drunkenness on weekends in western cities, in helping to be Mr Motivators and career and study advisors in our personal capacities to all in need. We shy away from having a lot of non -Sikh internet friends on myspace, facebook, twitter and msn, yahoo etc etc with whom we could become best m8s and share Sikhi bit by bit. We need to blast away and pump out Sikhi in a way that relates to how people understand things according to their language, lifestyle, age, colour, race and culture, and our role models for that are our Gurus themselves!!!!!! My beloveds, let our inspiration for Sikhi be a force unleasing from our souls that is like a hurricane blowing everywhere and anywhere 24/7. Let the REVIVAL begin now! now! now! now! now!. Squeeze out your last breathe and your last drop of blood from within your soul to be a barking dog of Guru Gobind Singh. Bark so so sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo LOUD that everyone hears you , i mean EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU are a COBRA so STING!!!!!!! STING SOOO HARD THAT EVERYONE GETS STUNG BY WHAT YOU GOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A LION!!!!!! SO ROAR! ROAR SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOUD THAT EVERYONE HEARS YOUR ROAR!
  11. and when the broom goes wack, u give yourself a smack till of ego ur soul will lack and Naam starts pouring in through your broken heart's crack

  14. Only five jee, Forgive me, but I'm only a simple person and i was not reading your post as a joke or sarcasm. Took it seriously at face value and have tried to answer you straight as i can, from exactly what it means. And sorry , i am not a teacher or in any teaching mood, just a plain boring long -winded person who loves you more than i wanna love myself-and thats facts. Just like to listen more and sometimes hesitantly talk. There is no conversion in Sikhism i.e from one state to another. You do not convert to a white skin if u move to UK , and you do not convert into a woman when you marry a woman. Sikhism is about THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD, Sikhism is about the greatest TALE OF ROMANCE in all of creation . The greatest LOVER OF THE UNIVERSE , SHREE GURU GOBIND SINGH stands before you , care-less who you are. You either somehow recognise that and fall in love or you dont, matter over!
  15. PJS veerjee, WJKK.WJKF!!! It is me that humbly begs you to, in fact, pray for murakhs like me to be in chardi kela. You do not have the faintest idea(or perhaps you probably do hehe , through Guru bakshish) how humbly i beg you for that because one passing second without chardikela makes me pass through a trillion hells of waiting for me within THAT one second as if i am going through a status level epileptic seizure!!! I know, you know what i mean. You as a gursikh are the darling, amongst so many darlings of Gurujee and your one quiet word to Gurujee, can cause Nam Power to blitz through my soul like lightning falling in a split second to the ground!!!! Please dont in your remotest dreams think of me as gyaanvaan as my tiiny little scr*w*d brain is my greatest enemy and just cannot understand a single sentence of Gurbani. I have read i think, hundreds and thousands of books at lightning speed in my life but when it comes to SGGS and SDGGS, i am so stupid that i read one sentence and im stuck to understand it as if i have taken a spliff and cannot wake up to be aware what it means!!! I look at it again and again with so many translations scattered around me and i know its meaning something deeper than im sensing . You got no idea how silly i feel . I'm not been melodramatic but its so true.I pray to Gurujee to open my eyes to understand , of cuz HE does open me eyes , but then i shut them again!. I even go to my non Sikh friends who even may be atheists!!! and spill my confusions to get them to interpret stuff and lo and behold Gurujee sometimes hides even in them to give me a split second of understanding. PINGAL PARBAT PAAR PAREH, SUNH CHATAR BEKITAH !!!!! as mighty Gurbanee proclaims. My state has been reduced to , as Gurbani says ----SAJAN DES VEDESRIEH , SANEOHREH DENDHEE, and mundh eyes are bherentee with tears because '' where HE is i dunno the ordinates to get there and hence, kyeo milah prabh peareh. Even on Guru Gobind Singh Sahib's agman purab , where i was singing PATNA SHEHER BIKHEH BHAV LEO, i could not resist singing SAJAN DES VEDESRIEH as my next headline shabad . O my!!! wat a good little mess and fix to be in!!!! hehe, thank you GURUJEE!! I know u like some confusion in me hehe. Once a black Eritrean m8 of mine gave me a NY's card. Many days later i read it , and i could sense Gurujee had given me a hidden message through that orthodox christian eritrean guy!!!! BALA PREETAM SATGUR, GUR GOBIND SINGH is sometimes just that!!!-BALA PREETAM, enjoying a lit hide and seek with us, going into that which aint looking sikh, and whistling his NAAM Tune as a clue, as we keep looking for him elsewhere!!!! We just forget HE OWNS ALL AND EVERYTHING and can hideawayin and jump out of anywhere he wants hahaha. We all wanna be God's and Guru's kids but Gurbani says, sometimes God wannas be OUR kid!!!!! CHOJEE MERE GOVINDA CHOJEE MERE PIAREAH , HAR PRABH MERA CHOJEE JIO!!! WAH! makes me wanna dance , thats so ecstatic hehe. And apnepart2 jio, the only something there is, is THE SOMETHING that is the EVERYTHING within everything, and that you know is WHO, no one apart from, our blessed beloved GURU . We are nothing because apart from HIS NAAM PULSE throbbing in us , we all are really no-thing.
  16. Only five, The words '' hardcore/missionary/religion ''are western concepts that try to box in Sikhi into convenient little boxes of definition. There is nothing hardcore or softcore about Sikhi. Sikhi is THE core of every core, once you have familiarise yourself with the philosophy of Sikhism by reading Shree Guru Granth Sahib alongside all supporting scriptures and the lifes of our 10 Gurus. Sikhi opens your eyes to the presence of the God and the grace of eternal Guru Nanak Dev in the core of every core of every atom and sub particle in the entire universe because Sikhi grants you in time, the eyes that see beyond the realm of eyes. Sikhi has the potency to penetrate both the hardest and softest core of the intellect, imagination, emotions and pysche of any human being, as the core concepts of Sikhi challenge and interface with the mental, materialistic, spiritual and psychological make up of the HUMAN mind irrespective of race, creed and colour. Sikhi is God's answer to being human and being godly in one place! Sikhi is not either missionary or non missionary, but Sikhi is the flower that can float on the surface of the container of any human being filled to the brim with any religous or non religous definition of himself and herself, yet dig ITS roots deeper than any other root within that person's consciousness and being. The teachings and wisdom of Shree Guru Granth Sahib are meant for any and every living creature on earth and that would be as clear as daylight once you start to read SGGS. Shree Guru Nanak Dev and our other Gurus did not sit in one place and preach to the converted, they saw human suffering and pain and need in distant places, and out of humility and love, they travelled far on foot and later on horses, to be God's answer to the suffering of mankind irrespective of race, colour, religion and creed. They presented humanity with the choice of writhing away in pain and need, or becoming Sant Sipahees or Warrior Saints. Read in Guru Gobind Singh's writings the mandate God gave HIM before HIS glorious manifestation on planet earth, not too long ago. That same mandate was imputed to the Khalsa. Guru Amardass, our 3rd Guru, infact sat up 22 manjees i.e centres for the emanation of the wisdom, care and grace of Gurujee to all mankind. The word religion normally refers to a certain school of interpretation of spirituality and a particular mindset and way of life. But Sikhi encompasses all mindsets within its fold, all ways of life, all forms of spirituality. Gurujee holds HIS hands wide and invites all to be HIS children, to be within his HUG. Gurujee offers his fingers to be held by anyone and everyone in pain, in need, in poverty, in disease, in loneliness, in starvation. History offers no example of anyone that was kinder and humbler than Guru Nanak, anyone who embraced people from any fold, race and religion so lovingly. Likewise, history offers no example of anyone, who was braver, more generous, and more gracious than Guru Gobind Singh. When Guru Gobind Singh created Khalsa, there was no one from no race, religion, caste and creed that was denied the oppurtunity and privilege to receive Amrit and be transformed into Khalsa. Sikhism has got nothing to do with '''get all we can get, bring two and ill give you a dollar, bring four and ten dollars is yours'' as you have said!. Sikhism has everything to give, nothing to get, if you really get to understand the richness of Sikhism. Sikhism is THE HAND OF A GIVING GOD to this universe in need. Sikhism is not about 2 and four dollar ebay bargains. Sikhism asks for a simple, humble surrender of just yourself as a humble beggar at the feet of the Lord Of The Universe. Thats when the giving into your life starts that will baffle you as your coffers overflow. No payment is required at a sikh gurudwara, no payment is required to receive the once in a trillion lifetimes blessing of Amrit Eternal. Keep what you have, just bring yourself and you will go back with more than you could ever have dreamt of. If out of your love for Gurujee you wanna bring a rose, a carnation, some milk, some rice, even a penny thats up to you. Gurujee awaits to GIVE not to get. Gurujee has no reason to ask because Gurujee gives, gives, and gives. HE is the storekeeper and gate keeper of all of God's treasures, HE aint no beggar of your perhaps sinfully earned money. Do read books like The Spirit Born People and 10 Masters by professor Puran Singh to get a better understanding of Sikhi , if not just read the meanings of Japjee Sahib, or Sukhmani Sahib or Tav prasad Savaiyas to get a better glimpse of Sikhism. Hehe if you cant even do, just see the entire series of Battlestar Galactica and you'll catch what i mean and if you cant even do that , just close your eyes and surrender within to the Power and Presence of Waheguru fir a long long time and all be clear as daylight that Sikhi is THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE, undefinable and all encompassing!!!!!!
  17. apnepart2, I think you have somehow not understood the basis of this entire thread due to some reason. A Sikh does not rely on good luck, but Gurujee's grace 24/7, and a Sikh has got nothing to do with luck, but has everything to do with being at that one point in time and space where God desires him/her to be! This is in fact not even about walking, either for me, you or anyone else. This is about a reminder to the entire Khalsa Panth to wake up and run away from what it HAS become, towards what it, has TO become! This thread is not some public notification of any path I have suddenly awoken from slumber to realise, which i need to walk, for which I'm begging good luck from you! There is nothing personal in this thread. This thread if you read it carefully is a poignant crystallisation of that which a lot of people in Khalsa Panth are thinking and hurting about today and a very humble endeavour to remind ourselves as one big huge family that we all have some deep reflections to make, that the prime aim of Khalsa Panth and the prime purpose of every Khalsa Panthee, is to work continously towards creating a Panth of Sant Sipahees that are the foremost servants and leaders of all of humanity. If you reread Spirit Of The Sikh , Vol 1, 2 and 3 by Professor Puran Singh, some of Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh's essays and magnum opus, you will catch the gist of what has been shared on this thread so far. Actually, what made me start this entire thread is a mystery by itself. I had been very troubled recently by a whole load of events affecting our Panth. Well , that by itself aint nothing new, as what else is there to ever think about, apart from thinking of ''KHALSA AKAL PURAKH KI FAUJ, PERGETEO KHALSA PARMATM KI MAUJ!!!!!!!!'---as this verse itself is enough to catapult and blast away any lame soul into the highest regions of chardi kela hehe. Anyway a few nights ago, as it has been snowing heavily in UK, I had just through Gurujee's apar kirpa, completed amrit vela nitnem and simran and as per usual lay down on my back to continue listening to simran to wade off into a little rest before continuing my day. However on this dewy snowy mysterious night, the simran got hold of me heart and started squeezing it tight with the deepest emotions of love, and then suddenly this thoughts started streaming into my mind fast and thick. Something said to me to write them down, i was being lazy and said , its cool , we'll do it tomorow, but no , a force just took hold of me and the next thing i knew i had got up, and started this thread. Vichar, the ability to pause and reflect , to question direction, to redirect, to take stock, to accept change, to readjust the focus of the lenses of your vision, is an integral part of Sikhi , as the history of Sikhism makes it crystal clear. Without Vichar we aint getting no where either individually or collectively, thats for sure. Thats why Gurujee proclaimed SIKHI SIKHEYA, GUR VICHAR....'' This thread is about the need for vichar, amongst all of us . Of course easier said that done, becuz we all have little egos that hate getting pricked and patronised by those that dare to question our intellect and direction of thought, as well as motives and intentions that hinder the ability for a humble self restrospection.
  18. waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru!!!!!!! now , THATS a Sikh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kind Guru Nanak will hug tighter than i can imagine, the type to whom heavens upon heavens will open , the one who in one stroke and, in one action radiated to the world what a Sikh is ! May Gurujee bless me and all of you to be inspired by such a man and follow his mind-blowing example. Thats my hero ! His actions spoke louder than his words! I never came across such a great man squabbling about what sikhi is or isnt , but his one action defines Sikhi more than a thousand controversies and quarrels over Sikhism. I am totally lost for words . Thats where i wanna be each day of my life! Living for others! WAH! thats nitnem , sewa, simran , satsang , naam , daan , ishnan , gurmat, miri and piri, all together in one place! His death points at me the sword of chardikela and challenges me better than any saint or preacher ever did ! All i need is some self defense so i dont get killed but can help more and more of others! This is so so so awesome! Honestly, I am beyond words! AS you young people will say, this is one very wickd and nasty piece of proper pukka gursikhi power and braveness in action!!
  19. And Inder Singh Jee, please do very carefully and thorougly, the importance of the institution of Amrit is not in anyway being criticised here ! On the contrary, the real absolute importance of this institution is being highlighted here for its utter profoundness and vitalness, its unleasing power and its purpose. Neither is this thread about any self-made theories, this is all about the dire need to get away from all our nonsense and focus on our Guru-given mandate to be a community of SANT SIPAHIS , beaming with MIRI and PIRI , and practising the Gurbani tenets of naam, daan, and ishnan.
  20. apnepart2, If you read very thoroughly , this aint about liking anyone to be how WE like them to be! This is about , taking lessons from the past, and applying as well as recasting them, into the present, and projecting them into the future. This thread is a reminder about our purpose , our journey and our destination. We cannot afford to retire back into a complacent state of living with the faults of the world. Then no Guru Nanak and no Guru Gobind Singh would have manifested in this world , and no Khalsa would have been created to be God's fauj in this world . A fauji does not sit in barracks the whole day and just pray and just focus on improving HIS own little ''jeewan''!, then he aint no fauji but a retired pensioner doing his last prayers hoping to get a footstep into God's heaven sometime soon!!!!!!!! Neither has this got anything to do with worrying as worrying has got nothing to do with a Sikh! Its not our place to judge anyone in this world that they '' did not or do not listen to the Guru''. We aint privy to how Gurujee is whispering to anyone in this world in his/her heart, when the drawstrings will be pulled, and the argument that goes on in that person's consciousness, and, when, and in which lifetime, God will win that argument and reign supreme in that person's heart . Our business is to be like a humble mother that keeps lovingly advising her rebellious kid. Our business is to share SIKHI left, right, centre with whoever crosses our path and whoever lands within our radar . That's Gurujee's mandate for our lifes, not just a simplistic matter of washing your hands off others, and focussing selfishly on improving your own little jeewan. A mindset that is based on JUST improving your own liitle jeewan is NOT a mindset that has been torn asunder by the shuddering force of the revolution triggered within your entire being by receiving Amrit! Your wise teacher needed to have elevated himself to the higher realm of Gurmat based wisdom based on the philosophy of the creation of the Khalsa and the very purpose for the administering of Amrit to any human soul on earth. Its in understanding this, that you would be doing justice to vikramjit bro's humbleness. Vikramjeet's humbleness does not sprout from a lifestyle based on protecting his own back, whilst condemning others to their fate, but rather from a lifestyle based on sewa of Gurujee by serving humanity to the best of his ability and by the grace of Gurujee.
  21. Well said Vikramjit Singh! We need to do justice to Amrit! The lifes of our past martyrs, the lives of personalities like Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh, Bhai Randheer Singh, Professor Puran Singh etc tell us the power, spirit, intuition, generosity, spirituality, wisdom, humbleness, and maganimousity Amrit can unleash in our singular lives, if we choose not to become unawaredly opinionated, stubborn, and haughty in our minds about our interpretation of Sikhi, as well as allow a subtle hardness, anger and hatred to lace those parts of our consciousness that Amrit renders to be extremely tender , caring and loving towards others. This is akin to the appearance of the black alien symbiotic substance that bonds to spiderman in Spider-Man 3, which appears to strengthen but actually weakens his power! Yes, Amrit helps to propel us head-on into the kingdom of the Khalsa! - but, what do we do when we get there! Become proud that now we are the Khalsa, stick to one code of discipline that suits our personal lifestyles, cultural mindset and standards of morality, and self-indoctrinate ourselves that,-that bubble of understanding that encapsulates our understanding is the, was all, and be all of Sikhi! -all this then working us up into aggravated states of mental and psychological tension when we interface with anything beyond that veiled bubble! What actually ought to have happened when we took that first magical step in clasping the hand of Gurujee with our weak fingers when we took Amrit? To have suddenly realised the immensity and profoundness of that one magical moment when Amrit was sprinkled into our eyes and onto our foreheads! That one moment was the golden chance to walk away from everything mundanely human about our existence and walk towards the Light awaiting us! The Light that beckons us to estrange ourselves from a bickering, accusative, finger pointing,others- blaming , others- cursing consciousness whether in matters of religion or worldliness! The Light that invites us into the kingdom of angels, to behold the Supreme Majesty of Gurujee, to live every moment shivering and sweating in HIS PRESENCE, to have a heart fully pregnant with endless vibrations of ecstatic love for Gurujee causing a feverish chill in our brains! and making our hearts throb tensely with emotion. The Light that elevates our consciousness to a divine realm beyond the realms of ideological polarities, the realms of politics and the realms of moralistic self-righteousness. The Light that helps others see us as pure humble, sincere loving beings, bereft and devoid of all alignments and ulterior motives as well as hatreds. The Light that makes us pioneers , leaders and giants among humans. The Light that gives us the most thorough of intellect as well as most astuteness of physical power, apart from richness of emotion, and the compassion of trillions of buddhas fused together. The Light that gives us the supernatural ability to smile as our skin is being torn from our skulls, our fingers chopped piece by piece! Now in which of our religous leader of today do we see this, leave alone ourselves? Sikhi was supposed to make religion inspiring even to an athiest! But we do not realise the kinda way we spew Sikhi today makes any athiest a better athiest! and only entrenches the view that religion serves to polarise, to divide, to fuel intolerance and fear, to claim the moral high ground in all matters, and to ignite the inherent flames of hatred in human nature! Amrit was created to sparkle our lifes, to animate, activate and energise our dead souls, so we became childlike yet wise, meek yet powerful, meditative yet socially interactive, prayerful yet playful.sober yet gleeful! But, our interpretation of Amrit has only made us diehard supporters of a particular moralistic and righteous lifestyle we live to defend, with sadly nothing beyond. We mind our lifes, and around us the world crumbles in pain. What concerns us is that we wake up to do our prayers on time-what does not concern us is the poor who live in council estates. What concerns us is our husband, wife and children-what does not concern us is the poor in our community or other communities. What concerns us is that we read one Sukhmani a day-what does not concern us is that people of all races around where we live, work or study have no peace. What concerns us is that we have enough kacheras and kanghas-what does not concern us is the hole in others clothings and the lack of adequate warm clothing on others. What concerns us is the food we eat being religously 'halal' . What does not concern us is the lack of food in our neighbours houses! What concerns us is that we need to get to a gurudwara for satsang. What does not concern us is that our black or white neighbour needs satsang too! When we read books on Sikhs by early white travellers, what concerns us is which scriptures they recorded to have been in vogue, what does not concern us is the pure, simple, humble, loving nature and supernatural abilities of those Sikhs! Why? because in our arrogance we think we fall in the same category as those Sikhs, just because we have received Amrit! Amrit signifies the dice being cast, the snowball getting started, the parting shot taken! But complacency hiding itself in the guise of narrow parochial thinking, and assuming due loyalty to a certain maryadic lifestyle is the end all of the matter, hinders any further progression. Amrit requires constant assessment of who we are, where we are heading, who we wanna be, why we are here, and when to do what. Amrit requires an entire re-questioning of our psychological, emotional and intellectual make up, as well as how we relate and interact with others. Amrit requires us to die such, that we are not even remotely near to our previous outlook, perpectives and way of thinking, talking and acting! Amrit requires us to tread extremely carefully in how we perceive others, their intentions and motives. Amrit pulls us away from a judgemental mindset to a mindset focussed on understanding the nature and cause of sin in others without hating or abhoring them. Amrit does not isolate us from people, not of our faith -who are within our radar. Amrit draws us towards them in playing a supportive caring role in their lives as Heaven's angels! When we allow Amrit to work ITS magic within us, we will become wet, juicy, dripping, soaking, radiant, joyful, fearless, excitable and exciting, hot and glowing, warm and welcoming! Let Amrit be the tsunami that shook the roots of our consciousness, uprooted the deepest buried roots of our quarrelsome behaviour, .....and flooded the dried up, loveless, selfish, egoistic nature of our souls. Let Amrit be a spiritual implant like a pacemaker that got our hearts throbbing again excitedly in love, to live just for the sake of making God happy and kiss HIS creation with the lips of our heart, as if we were kissing the petals of a tender rose! When we truly surrender to Amrit , everyday will be the birthday of each of our 10 Gurus and gurgaddi divas of SGGS within our hearts, minds and souls, a daily calender of Gurpurabs within us coming alive every single day!!! T
  22. AG51 Jee, Yes to what you just said !! and the fact is that these christians do not even do their welfare stuff out of pure sincerity and love but as a cunning tool and bait to hook people to their religion and beliefs!!!! whereas Sikhi allows us(if we chose to!) to serve and love humanity unconditionally even! without any motives! They are wolves in sheep's clothing, only getting off with that, because the Khalsa chooses to bicker , rather than lead. We should have created an image of ourselves as the world's most loving people, but no! we are seen as a contentious lot, always striving to hold on like dear life to our little sacred cows!
  23. I have been feeling very sad, upset, troubled and disturbed in my soul as I see what is becoming of Sikhi around me, wherever I turn, be it the internet, punjab, or gurudwaras. The vision I hold of of true Sikhi is so much more beautiful and pure than the one i see. All I am seeing is people's passion for their understanding of Sikhism, equalled by an equal amount of passionate hatred for those who do not subscribe to that set of criteria for Sikhi they hold in their mind fervently. Tolerance is no where to be seen, and everyone has their own idea of some sort of a puritanical standard they judge Sikhi by, coupled with an interpretation of Sikhi as a moral code for some sort of righteous living based on ever ending, contentious lists of do's and dont's that does not unite us but divides us as fervent ternal enemies! Everyone accuses the other of blasphemy, of hinduization of Sikhi, of corruption of Sikhi, and of compromising Sikhi with politics . We have become enemies to each other filled with an absolute hatred, distaste and hell fire intolerance to each other's presence on this planet, and our fingers stay stubbornly at each other to blame. We pride on not letting an inch of our turban cloth falling to the ground as we tie a turban, but we have become tolerant towards turbans rolling off each other's heads in our frequent fights in gurudwaras around the world. We talk on the sikh channel of Sikhi as being unique, special, progressive and blah blah blah, but our actions do not match a single word we say! Our leaders in the highest places dress up and walk as if they are earth's best saints in all their regalia, but hear them talk daily on tv like fools, like politicians and see them solving urgent Panthic problems in ways that make them appear as common earthly revengeful men without an iota of spirituality, humbleness , foresight, wisdom, and clever diplomacy. In our little minds within which we think the light of God shines, we are completely bereft and devoid of any love or humility towards those who do not share our world view of Sikhism. Anyone and everyone who does not share our sacred views of Sikhism, we have already condemned them to eons and eons of burning in hells more eternal than God himself! Yet we very proudly proclaim on our rooftops that Sikhism is a religion about human brotherhood, humility , love , and unity of mankind beyond even religion , colour, creed and race! We even use hukumnamas of SGGS to somehow justify that Gurujee is on our side and showing the hand of revenge to those we think are the Judasess of Sikhism , wlling to trade it for less than a penny. We claim Sikhism is about Sehaj or calmness but this calmness and serenity that should be a hallmark of Sikhism has become a mirage, always beyond us. We disagree and have stubborn uncompromising views about everything from our scriptures to even our calender. Hence, our radio and tv channels, our internet sites , every media expression of ourselves, all vibrate on a high pitch of tension between extremes in opinion. None appears happy with anything, yet we all wake up and shower and pray but then spent the rest of the day in perpetual name, blame and shame. We do not even realise that our fervent passion for our faith, is paralled by an equalled rigidization of our hearts. All of this is having a subtle, corrupting and diminishing effect on our personalities that is going unchecked because of course, we are the defenders of our faith, and our daily prayers and love for our religion somehow absolves us of the need for any exercise in self-restrospection concerning our gentleness, diplomacy, softness , tactfulness and love in dealing with even our enemies as Bhai Kehneya displayed. In the middle of this ugly display of our loyalties to those little boxes we live in , in our mind, we have completely forgotten that the reason we have landed in countries around the world was that we were brought to Europe, UK , Canada and USA as Gurujee's ambassaddors of Sikhism, albeit whatever the material reason might have been! How many of us can honestly say that your 2010 New Year resolution was to distribute tracts of sikhi in the workplaces, schools, universities and coleges you go , to bring non -sikhs to gurudwaras, to be an inspiring walking and talking mobile gurudwara of Sikhism . No! all we can think is of so and so and so who is about to destroy some institution of sikhism or sikhism itself as if that person was an equal of God . But try reminding anyone of this , and the quick excuse is we need to spend the next thousand years getting our house in order before we can worry about the next white guy turning sikh. Honestly, we need to wake up and stop fooling ourselves and stop making excuses. Our efforts have to be directed to creating a Panth of SANT SIPAHIS, in fact a planet of SANT SIPAHIS .This is what this internet site, and every other media should be about , not about promoting our little miniscule views over some new controversy day in day out and promoting some common household names of either a bunch of sikh politicians , preachers or saints supposed to have powers to destroy this galaxy in an instant! That is blatantly boring and stale! Our religious leaders need to be seen as the Dalai Lamas of this world , not just Sikhs , instead of trampling themselves and trampling sikhism in the dirty mud of revenge, politics, and moral as well as religous rigidity. Likewise every institution we have at our disposal has to be a lighthouse emanating the message of Sikhism to a very needy planet of pain, oppression and suffering. This is what will make Sikhism a force to be reckoned with, in an emerging new gobal order! not our constant bickerings over every substantive issue, and fears of our dwindling numbers which is making look like a defensive community of oppurtunistic wounded tigers resorting to easy kills and pickings, within themselves! On the contrary we are supposed to be the lions of tomorow! Sikhism is a gift of God meant to bring joy and hope, not just to 20 to 30 million sikhs, BUT to a world of over 6 billion ! Well , we aint going get anywhere near there if we keep strangling each others throats, or, or just maybe , for all our high talk of Sikhism as being raaj karega khalsa , we do doubt the potential of Sikhism to be a leading world order , and we do doubt that Guru Gobind Singh actually created a khalsa meant to rule the world , only if we did what we got to do! This gurbani we cut and paste and interpret on this and other sites , how often do we print it out and distribute it to non sikhs or wavering sikhs huh! We just celebrated Guruje's avtar agman purabh but how many non sikhs did we tell about it to in our personal capacities. Well, very few indeed ! because our minds are obsessed with images of our enemies and our attention is firmly focussed on slaying them, and because we inherently have our minds entrenched in the view that Sikhism is indeed an ongoing localised religous party amongst a sub community of bickering politicised punjabees called Sikhs! We so so so so so so need to wake up! We are in a mindless slumber as the world crumbles around us!
  24. What can i say! All lovely posts above!!!! about my Dad, my Lord . my Lover and my Jind-jaan! All i wanted to say was that the word prophet can be ''iffy'' because in theology proper a prophet just means a postman of god who goes around relaying messages from God about the future , present etc etc . But Gurujee is way way way beyond that!!!!!!!!!
  25. excellent!!!!!! keep us informed of your plans, strategies and programmes as you formulate them, and help required. This is what we need. Voluntary groups everywhere working in small bands zapping up all thats wrong, and lighting Sikhi fires everywhere. I also urge Sikhs in the UK, Canada and Europe and USA to do parchar of Sikhi amongst whites like yoji harphajan did. A fight till the finish. Its time we made Sikhi rock and shake this world. Long overdue.
