  7. i just recently took amrit and iv heard people saying they felt so happy after they took amrit and than it fades after. I was confused cuz ppl were asking me how i felt and i said normal lol . But you notice the change from inside as in you are happy and glad that you finally took amrit. Im confused bout the same thing as you. But from from i kno i think that person is cut off from that enternal bliss once they commit a bujar kurehit i guess you are on some kind of high as you can say it when you take amrit) Im sorry im such a morrakh I have the worst way of explaining things... Oh yea what i was thinking is that when people get low in sikhi as in the start hanging out with bad sangat not doing full paat maybe then they feel they have lost this bliss. But how you define bliss? I dont know anything i hope someone can give me and JustME some straightfoward answers :D
  8. Yay I have a recent personal experience about this!! Ok so my bestfriend just retook amrit and one of the reasons was because she bleached her facial hair and you know what i noticed that her hair is back to being black and it blends in more ,it looks more natural. For some reason she looked older with bleached hair and it looked like she was wearing makeup. She looks way better now and younger. Some ppl are going to disagree with me but this is from my personal experience. When you change yourself in anyway to fit in with society your telling God that you dont appreciate what he has given you. I think you should definately hang out with better sangat not amritdharee girls who think that removing or chnaging or bleaching hair is ok. I think its great that your planning on taking amrit. Go for it and its not bad to stop bleaching your hair early. I stopped doing my eyebrows 4 months be4 i took amrit it was hard at first because you become such a perfectionist when u look at yourself in the mirror but what helps you let go is to do ARDAAS, do ardaas everyday after you do rehraas da paat or any other paat and ask for amrit di dhaat and in the original ardaas it already says kesh daan rehat daan. I hope iv been of some help bul chuk maff and feel free to message me :D
  9. Someone told me that in bani it said that kaljug is going to keep getting worse. And It talked about how no one is going to see someone as their sister/brother or daughter/son so theres going to me father-daughter incest and mother-son incest. ( this already exists :sady: ) The person that told me knows this from listening to Katha but i hoped that the sangat would know what bani this is from or anywhere else where it talks bout this kind of stuff. bhull chuk maff
  10. Im very happy that i was aloud to do kirtan when i wasn't amritdharee, it gave me a connection to sangat and without sangat i couldnt of taken amrit. I think anyone and everyone should be encouraged to be aloud to sing the praises of God in sangat :D * sorry if i offended anyone

  13. http://abhiyaas.blogspot.com/2006/05/education.html http://naam-jor.blogspot.com/2007/02/education.html Im totally confused after reading these 2 articles because it seems like the point they are trying to get across is that education is a waste of time as this time could be used to jap naam but isn't it all about balance?? Guru Nanak taught his way of life: Nam Japa - To get up each day before sunrise, to clean the body, meditate on God’s Name and recite the Guru’s hymns to clean the mind. Throughout the day, continuously remember God’s Name with every breath. Dharam di Kirat Karni - To work and earn by the sweat of the brow, to live a family way of life, and practice truthfulness and honesty in all dealings. Vand Ke Chakna - To share the fruits of one’s labor with others before considering oneself. Thus, to live as an inspiration and a support to the entire community.
  14. I would never tell my kids (if i were to have any) to cut there hair. Even if they had 0% belief in Sikhism,, I wouldnt tell them to cut their hair because you dont know when their mind will change and theyll want to keep rehat. Im glad my parents were strict especially during teenage years because thats the time when u want to fit in with everyone else by cutting your hair
  15. make sure u do kirtan sohila and rakhia de shabad(do it more that just once) play a kirtan cd or mp3 all night long in your room
