  1. Get over your musalmaan obsession. Girls/guys are equally going goreh/kaale/asians of other faiths. Only a minority of 'Sikhs'have any sikhi at home, all other issues are symptoms of this.
  2. This video should answer why.. To disobey rehat at gurughar is unacceptable.U may are entitled to ur views, however the rehat marriage is the gurus mat and those that break it in a gurdwara need to be challenged and stopped.
  3. Leamington and havelock rd didn't attend, 3 guesses where they stand on the issue. I can see somebody eventually getting hurt for their act of beadbi. Akal takt jathedar really ought to summon the offenders or issue an edict for sikhs to boycott these committee members (by name) before singhs need to take matters into their own hands.
  4. whatever his grievance to do an ardas wishing somebody and there family ill is disgraceful. the guy needs his teeth knocking out!
  5. And who owns leases the land to the airport operator? Who has strategically placed hotels and other businesses around the airport? Who is hell bent on taking all international flights from amritsar to chandigarh? None other then 'gadaar-e-quam'
  6. Those that are protesting do not discriminate between male and female, they have have proven this by protestsing at both, if more female anand karajs are taking place or being reported then it is what it is.Your just trying to divert the debate by making it an issue of sex discrimination, to which I repeat the protestsers do not do. If ur implying sikhs in general discriminate more or are more resentful towards sikh female anand karajs, then thats ur subjective view based on ur own experience, its not what I see from singhs I know. The rehit maryada bans it for both already, only change required is in the minds of gurdware and individuals that break the maryada. One thing I will say guru gobind singh signed and sealed hukamname that exist today specifically chastising singhs who marry their daughters to non singhs; take that anyway u want.... bottom line is that is the gurus mat.
  7. Turn ur back on her/him just as she did the guru. The harder nonnegotiable line works better then "oh my kids don't listen to me so I'll disrespect all those sacrifices made to get me where I am and let my daughter/son sell out"
  8. I see no problem with this Hindus wearing a Kara or any of the 5 kakkar. We Sikhs do not have a monopoly over these items. The reason why we wear them may differ. The theory girls get 'tricked' by non Sikhs is a red herring, the girls are immoral and seeking kaam to begin with, whether its with a Sikh or non Sikh is irrelevan their actions that are deplorable either way. Apologies for the racist minority amongst us, they are deserving of some shittar. As for Hindus joining that khalsa and not becoming Sikhs its nonsense, they may have fought alongside the khalsa (I don't know whether they did or not), but a khalsa by definition is a guru ka Sikh only. PS people ever heard of sticking to the originally posted subject, so much random nonsense being posted
  9. Bull Haven't read all the comments, only a very small handful of out of faith anand karajs that have been stopped have made press. I know of several anand karajs between males of sikh origin and non-sikh females have been stopped. I suggest researching better before posting anti-sikh/gurmat nonsense.
  10. I can see why u might think farming gives punjab an edge over the mentioned nations.. maybe there is something in it - but not enough to make a real economic difference. Here's why- - Crop Farming in punjab is not labour intensive, so doesnt do much for employment stats. A typical farmer has 20 fields with one tractor, one bihari baya and hires a harvester twice a year. (Granted the logistics side is heavily manned - mainly by non punjabis from states buying the grain). - Those that are employed on farms are paid a pittance (mainly biharis), nor does it make the farmer a bucket load. - Farming as done by the everso bright punjabis is environmentally unsustainable (pollution from nitrates contaminating water, water supplies exhausting, over farming depleting soil nutrients). -In short agriculture in punjab doesn't boost gdp as folk believe -Google landlocked nations; there are a few with a decent supply of natural resources (which punjab doesn't have) and also dabble in farming on decent scale, they are all relatively poor nations whether they are in asia, Africa, s.America or europe. -Having something to sell doesn't translate to jobs for the masses. -Sea ports are needed for affordable import/exports. Khalistan restricted to indian punjab is a stupid idea, militarily they would be conquered by one of their nuclear neighbours within months of gaining independence, the country will be begging for fossil energy (that cant pay for),aid, military support, use of neighbours sea ports from day 2 of independence. If we want khalsa raaj then parchaar, human rights activism for all creeds, tidying up our leadership before winning the hearts of non sikhs (as the gurus did) is where to begin. When we have a couple of hundred million sikhs in northern india stretching from kashmir to gujarat let's think about a country called khalistan. Until then lets get the bssics right as at the moment singhs are only barely in the tens of thousands in india let alone millions.
  11. Ps surprised economy is so low in votes.. the general economic condition of landlocked nations are terrible... I.e.Ethiopia
  12. If it is restricted to punjab then hopefully not. Khalistan should be far more ambitious. Khalistan is not worth discussing in my lifetime as we have several internal kaumi conflicts that need resolving. I.e. terminating the goi stranglehold over sikh institutions and leadership. Badal family nu gaddi charana should be top priority. Khalistan demands is an elephant in the room that we need to get over as its gives goi an excuse to crackdown on us.
  13. This lads surprisingly eloquent for a 13 year old.
  14. Have u read the laawan?U are making a lot of assumptions, the commitment/vows made at the laawan do not mention children. Yes children are a large part of marriage but not the only thing that matter, the commitment made at the laawan (marriage ceremony) is for both aatmas to undertake the journey back to the parmatma. The bottom line is the gurus did not perform anand karaj of homosexuals although there were surely thousands around the area they travelled/lived. Why??? it doesn't matter.. u either follow them without questioning their judgement in blind faith or you don't and you question their divine wisdom... These things might not always make sense but take saakhi of when guru nanak tested his sons before passing the jot onto bhai lehna as an example of blind faith in ur guru and its reward. we will never be able to comprehend the full picture but where the gurus example is clear let's humbly follow it if we are their true disciples.
  15. In addition to the above; youtube Channels: Basics of sikhi rajoanatv sikhri Youtube search: sukha singh uk akal takht parkash/sukhbir badal sgpc 1984 sikhs jarnail singh Bhindranwale Facebook: Sikh federation sikh council everything's 13 Damdami taksal ajnala List goes on......
  16. There are many punjabi/indian stories narating romanctic get togethers/tragedies going back hundreds of years if not longer. love marriages may not have been the accepted norm but eloping and love marriages aren't a modern development. This aspect of love is false attachment 'moh' and wouldn't be sanctified by the guru. The gurus were the human form fully aware of the timeless lord, its manmat to say the gurus would not to be able to recognise an aspect of the current times. the actions/ideas preached by the gurus were not 'thought of' nor were their ideas 'evolved' it was revelation of the complete path back to our creator. "jaise mein aave khasam ki bani" My friend u are no doubt an intelligent person, and i dont mean to patronise u when I say this; but i believe you need to khoj bani further to realise what our great gurus were/are, in turn u will realise they could not have "missed a trick' by overlooking the 'love' aspect that causes a couple to come together (it is another false aspect of our human condition).
  17. Are seriously still in favour of gay anand karaj? Its surely no accident the all knowing, all seeing gurus didn't see it neccessary to publicly sanctify a homosexual union the same way as a hetro union during the 240 years they walked the earth? yes it leaves a homosexuals relationship in a status quo and in some people's eyes illegitimised, but thats there fate. Other humans have natural dispositions that leave them with worse predicaments/challenges.. but again thats due to there karams. Ive read many of ur past post's generally seen some logic behind ur comments; but im seriously taken aback by ur earlier statement. Where are you coming from with this?
  18. im opposed to gay anand karaj full stop. A dont get me wrong I dont judge homosexuals engaged in sex or not.. I see/treat them the same as a heteros. But I believe the anand karaj has only been approved by guru sahibs for a hetero union.
  19. its tough mate, we have to look to guru sahib to guide us in such situations.. I wouldnt advise on such matters as I would be a bad example to follow. The only point I make is that we cant try to bend gurusahibs message to airbrush the hard to digest truth.. We'd only be kidding ourselves.
  20. Guru sahib prohibited very little, but have told us sex to satisfy kaam(lust)/moh(attachment) only strengthens humkar (sense of 'I'). It is clear what the gurmat answer is here. Its up to each of us decide what acts to prohibit. If the sexual relationship is for procreation its an action with greater purpose and wouldn't be considered kaam/moh. To answer ur question plainly because homosexual sex can't lead to procreation and the point of it can only be kaam or moh, therefore it isnt gurmat. Sex within hetero marriage can also (does more often then not) lead to us straying from the path described as "khandeo tikhi, valo niki". Yes this would seriously clash with social norms of today... but the path to Waheguru only gets tougher if we judge what is acceptable by comparing against what the rest of the 'civilised' world accepts.
  21. gurmat being accepting of homosexuals isnt the same thing as promoting a sexual union between two folks of the same sex as being beneficial on the path to mukti? Guru sahib has only ever been known to have blessed a union (gristi&sexual) between man and woman as being parvaan on the journey to mukti. Thats the example we have to follow. A homosexual should be open about there sexuality and if they are to have a relationship with another person of the same sex and they are to walk the path to Waheguru then it must be non-sexual - and can not be considered marriage. Addressing the OP, if sikhs were ever forced to second guess the example shown by the gurus and alter the anand karaj... they should protest.. if this doesn't work they should take whatever steps are neccessary to fight the oppression.
  22. Anand Karaj for homosexuals? The maryada for anand karaj was set by the gurus, have u heard of a transsexual anand karaj or a homosexual anand karaj from the gurus time? Of course not, because it never happened. Was there no transsexuals or homosexuals around then??? Sikhs voting for or ever advocating homosexual anand karaj is paramount to contempt of the gurus blessed anand karaj ceremony. I am not against homosexuals being accepted by the sikh panth, in fact the opposite. its the first ive heard anybody pro homosexual anand karaj - its a completely thoughtless and dangerous idea!
  23. I really don't understand where you are coming from with your first point. Why shouldn't we be concerned that a powerful, historic and important institution to the panth has been infiltrated to its own and the panths detriment, DDT has great influence on sikhs and issues affecting them do you not agree? As for second point about getting involved in taksal santhia/activism, I agree. There are many ways in which to help, those that cant physically (due to whatever other responsibilities they have) commit the time to make a stand in person (in punjab) should support the truth and its propagation in the most effective way they can. All methods of support are required. I find ur post shararti and negative in nature, unless ive misread it (in which case I apologise).
  24. Thats fair enough. I hope u also recognise him as corrupt individual and GOI implant in the DT, his actions (and inaction in some cases say as much).
  25. A lot of money is spent propagating anti sikh lies via media, dharam parchar, other literature etc. Doesnt common sense tell us the same methods obviously need utilising where possible to tell the truth; which will of course cost the same. Having full time parchariks on the road costs money as does promoting them, those peddling lies at the lower levels have got families to feed and due to the current state of employment in punjab they turn to whoever gives them an income.. a lot of dharam parchar training/funding is somehow traced back to a source affiliated to the badals or other corrupt sikh leaders - so they wont speak against them. Also full-time activists need to feed their families and marry their kids off, its a difficult route to take even more so without a regular income. as for who to fund - those that are fearless and stand up to the tyrants.
