    Gurmantar

Please show me where i have said the above in my post # 4. Never did i mention Bhai Gurdas ji or their varan. What i said as mal paji has kindly already stated below, one persons interpretation may not be the same as another persons. If you have misunderstood what i have said then the fault is yours, i have not said anything negative about Bhai Gurdas ji or their varan. If as sikhs we can not debate/ discuss without name calling each other then we have no right to call ourselves sikhs. yes i am a fool , because only my Guru ji is chattar siana. Vaheguru ji dwells in all hearts, to hurt someones feelings is the worst sin of all. You could have asked me if i was saying or implying what you thought rather than resorting to name calling or to a pendu mentality. Please understand what is being said and think twice in future before you make accusations or fire arrows of words jkvlondon. Such kind words :smile2:

    Gurmantar

I am not saying anything negative or questioning Bhai Gurdas ji or the varan neither did i mention them in my post. I have said the explanation given as to what the particular verse means is what some people disagreed about. Only Guru Sahib ji or Bhai Gurdas ji really know what or in what context what has been said. Gurbani has many meaning interpreted differently , i remember listening to Giani Sher Singh ji ambala wale and they said that no one can say that they fully understand or know the full meanings because their are endless meanings. I hope this puts your mind at peace , otherwise their is nothing further i can say.
  5. absolutely Their jeevan , what they have done/doing for humanity, have they stood up when their has been injustices taking place, where were they in 1984 when the darbar sahib was being attacked etc etc , like sant Jarnail Singh ji Bhindrawale, who incidentally in one of their speeches if i remember correctly said dont just call anyone a bramhgiani and certainly not me ! (this to me is a true sant) n30singh ji is correct look at all of these things.
  6. Good questions Lets not hurt each others feelings those who follow a particular sant thats their choice, those who consider only SGGS ji as their all, Guru, sant, etc etc. thats fine too. We should show respect to all Gursikhs especially the ones who jaap naam always and encourage others to, whether they are brahmgianis or not only Guru sahib ji knows that. what is true is we are the children of the same Guru pita and he loves us all equally. kach pakaa-ee othai paa-ay. The ripe and the unripe, the good and the bad, shall there be judged.

    Hair On Nose

Sikhs do/should not tamper with hair on any part of their body, we all have hair growing in places we wish it did not for example i have one hair on my eye brow in the middle of my forehead that grows longer than the others to the point it sticks out like an arrow but would i tamper with answer is no way !! it does not bother me, my Gurus command is more important. vanity and worrying about what others think is all a distraction from our real goal.

    Gurmantar

Not everyone agrees on this explanation because it tries to link us to the sanatan dharam and sikhi is worship of the Akaal purkh only. But Only he the Akaal purkh / Guru ji know the truth, what we do know is that we should recite/meditate on the Akaal purkh with the Gurmantar. It is also said that when Guru Nanak Sahib did tap (meditation) Vaheguru Gurmantar was what they recited, we do know that in their tenth form Guru Gobind Singh ji gave us the sikh greeting Vaheguru ji ka khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki fateh and they have used vaheguru in their Gurbani too.
  9. We should bow only to SGGS ji maharaj, He is our Guru sant mata pita friend etc etc. There is nothing wrong with showing anyone respect and we should but to over state it to the point we start to worship a human is wrong . No one is equal to Guru Nanak and his 9 other forms and now SGGS JI . a pose for a camera or wearing of a particular bana should not sway us in anyway to start to consider anyone equal to the Guru Sahib. But we should show respect according to Gurmat. If i have hurt anyone feeling i humbly beg for forgiveness, neither am i implying and negativity toward any Gursikh.
  10. Nice freindly people , we have these sikh brothers and sister in our local community and they have established a local Gurdwara too. Not ever seen any meat related products being served. Sad to see they are picking up some of our bad habits i.e. surnames, parties etc hope they lose them quickly.
  11. enha loka noo sirf gala hi ondia hai , goreyah ateh mughla toh quarbani dehkar Singha neh azaad karvaiah, Tah inha bewakoofa neh hoon tak italian randi sonia gandhi di gulami kithai !! rajput ehai sawa (ashes) deh !! choolo bar pani deh vich dub kar mar jahan jeh koi sharam hovai !!

  13. After a 10 year marriage with a tradition Sikh lady (his high school sweetheart), Dr. Sarbjit Neel, left his marriage wanted to explore a deeper meaning of life and Sikh Spirituality. He met his new lady Leela ( a white Canadian) in Vancouver 1994 who was raised Catholic and trained as a Classical Soprano. It was at this time Sarbjit changed his name to Freedom and few years later Barbara became Leela (the play of life). http://secretweddingblog.com/how-to-have-an-interfaith-sikh-wedding-outside-of-the-gurdwara/ can see what deeper meaning of life he wanted to explore , chittar is the only meaning of life these people understand . he's trying to be another yogi bhajan and it is the canadian gorey this time not americans. Canadian residency / nationality plus new white lady, typical story from india balle balle all the way. Loocha !! Dirty old man !!

  15. Sant ji did not take a fight with the indian Government as you say, he asked for equal rights for all in punjab. But indira gandhi attacked the Darbar sahib and killed innocent people, if asking for your rights is taking a fight (your words) then not standing up for yours and especially for the rights of others could be deemed as cowardice, depends how you look at it. yes the names you mentioned above did contribute to killing innocent people directly or indirectly . If someone say a non hindu government was to attacked a hindu place of worship say kanshi (varanasi) and killed innocent people because they asked for equal rights and stood up for justice would they be taking a fight against the government ?
  16. That's three more than any sikhs did and i bet yours was one of them.
  17. Akbar and subsequent leaders’ marriages to Rajput women positioned some Rajputs as members of the ruling Mughal elite and they were integrated into the Mughal Empire in northern India. Many regional Rajput leaders maintained their autonomy but had to pay taxes to the Mughal government. The reciprocal relationship between the Mughal emperors and the Rajputs was threatened in the mid-17th century, as a result of Shah Jahan’s four sons’ wars of succession of their father. The Rajputs remained loyal to Shah Jahan and fought against his rebel sons. When Aurangzeb won, they would suffer the consequences. Aurangzeb was an ardent Muslim and he recast the previously diverse administration to favor Muslims exclusively. As a result, the Hindu Rajputs were ostracized politically, economically, and socially. http://epicworldhistory.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/rajputs.html Your women saved your hides, had you been real men you would have chosen death, in 1527 the first mughal babar finished you people of after that your women lay on there backs to save you, !!! Remember when you lay down next to your woman in safety today like your father and grandfather and his father before him etc etc its is because of the sacrifices of the tenth lord Guru Gobind Singh otherwise she would have been summoned when required for pleasure as would have been the rest in your family and you a low rajput amongst the hierarchy muslims a mere slave who would have cried his eyes out every time she was gone !! I dont usually use such words but how dare you you ungrateful wretch say negative words against our Guru sahib !! :angry2: Even sacrificing yourself a million times you could not repay the debt to Guru Gobind Singh Ji and you dare insult him you heathen ! Khalsa ji maf karna .
  18. My advice and i have shown my children these type of stories about what happens to people who go this way is, show your children brothers and sisters, cousins, friends etc etc these stories, tell them about the dirty tricks these malech do to trap people. We need to be open with our children, groups like the sikh awareness society are doing excellent work.
  19. Whilst i agree their is a level of ignorance in some families about sikhi , there are some families where the people who go astray know enough about sikhi and certainly about our situation over the centuries against the so called muslim / islamic oppressor but still they choose to have a relationship with these people, usually saying oh it is history and it is irelavant in this day and age. Sadly as has been shown in all of these stories everyone of these woman have destroyed their lives in one way or another. Education of our sons and daughters is the key after that it up to Guru ji . And the ones who do go astray after knowing everything as harsh as it may sound have only themselves to blame sadly. I pray Guru ji does not bring such times on any parent to see their own child destroy themselves.
  20. Is it right or wrong to wear a kulgi in the presence of the king of kings SGGS ji ? If wrong then why do the Gurdwara / Ganthi allow it ?
  21. Good question but then is it ok for Amritdharis to continue using their surname / goth . Did Guru Gobind Singh Ji continue to use rai answer no, although that may not have been their surname. My Surname was Khangura but i stopped using it the day i was blessed with amrit. and i did use singh previously too. My Grandmother used to say to us when we were children lose the surname but never lose the singh or kaur and in a way those little things she told me brought me closer to sikhi, i continue this teaching with my children and pray to Guru ji to bless them with Gursikhi jeevan and amrit too. Had i not have used Singh i may not have been interested in my religion .
