  1. Happy Birthday!!!!

    Best Wishes :D

  2. Aaaaw! That is so touching. I'll remember tht message
  3. these people r idiots That just makes me feel a lot better bout the poster
  4. Yeah we are murakhs which makes it hard not to. However, as sikhs it is our duty to overcome this jealousy and ego - with Guru Ji's kirpa one day we can
  5. I've seen this way too often. In a clothes shop (dunno which one) in wolverhampton there was a picture of all the Gurus. I was really surprized that the owner had the nerve to put it up, coz most of those clothes would never be seen on a Gursikh . I guess that's the first time I saw anything like that, but now I'm seeing it all the time. Some people we know drink alcohol and eat meat in their house, but they also have Guru Granth Sahib upstairs . I was completely disgusted, but I didn't say anything. Lol, if I did there would have been a huge argument.
  6. aaaw that is sooo true! I told a friend of mine, and she told another one of my Christian friends who recognized it from her mother's stories when she was young
  7. When I took Amrit there was one boy who kept blinking when the panj sprinkled Amrit in his eyes - he did it about nine times until he decided that five lots of amrit had actually made it into his eyes
  8. Originally, to be a sikh you had to be an Amritdhari. Good question nd thanx for the replies.
  9. Maybe you SHOULD let your family know. The easiest way to love Guru Ji is to feel like a sikh of Guru Ji, and the best way to do that is dress and act like a sikh of Guru Ji. If your trying to hide this from your family, they're sort of winning. Just a suggestion but you may wanna try it Good luck
  10. Why am I so greatly blessed with a perfect life when others are suffering and deserve it more than me?
  11. I agree with Gurpreet bhenji, Waheguru has given you a life, and you must not waste it. Remember you have more than many other people. The best thing to do is just to keep yourself busy - spend your time at the Gurdwara, talk to someone close to you. You may hate everything in your life but that doesn't mean you hate being alive. Best wishes for the future :TH:
  12. When I took Amrit there was a young American girl ( about 10 - 12 yrs old) taking it with me, and she had a thin black hair ribbon tied on her wrist. We spent like 5 minutes discussing if she should take it off or not, and the reasons for it
  13. I have a couple of Amritdhari friends who used to swear a lot I don't really want to tell them to stop it, but one day I said, "You swear a lot!" They never did it again - they were sooo embarrased! I did apologize tho, don't like making my friends feel guilty.
  14. Confession time I sometimes have to force myself out of bed, which isn't a good thing (duh). I don't actually skip Amrit Vela, but I do occasionally feel the temptation, and then feel really guilty and annoyed with myself (which also is not a good thing). This is happening less now (with Guru Ji's kirpa I am enjoying getting up) and I've found it's much easier not to make yourself too comfortable when you sleep, otherwise it can be quite hard to get up. My grandparents are always trying to convince me to get up at 6 am instead of 3 am, because they think that I might stop spending so much time on my homework. It's sooo annoying! Just needed to let that out Thanks for the info! GurFateh
