I'm not in a position to view or download (at work) the pictures linked above right now, but it would be good if someone could download the evidence to their hard drives - it is likely that the Mandir will remove them once they start getting pressure from Sikh sangattan. Waheguroo

Just wanted to say the Sikh Channel has been fantastic so far. Has been a great feeling to turn to our very own "Sikh Channel" when turning the TV on. It's also great to see the variety of programming that has been shown thus far, and no doubt, which will expand going forwards, and also the broad-range of contributors/sevadaars from across the UK to date. :D

:D Chardikala! The dates - starting on a Thursday and finishing on a Wednesday - will be a bit weird for those that work though.

Agree with the above comment. Our need at the moment is spending our resources on services which will effectively deliver Parchaar, such as The Sikh Channel, and paying individuals well so that such channels function effectively and have the right content. Also, Sikh Schools are more effective in inculcating Sikhi in children from an early age. This is much more effective than more and more Gurdwarae with fewer people and fewer and less adherence to Maryada. Waheguroo

Maaf Karna Jee though Sikhwiki is not necessarily on so dodgy ground. The fact is that Bhagat Dhanna Jee did worship a stone idol - Bhai Gurdaas Jee's Vaar (such Vaars are approved by Guru Arjan Dev Jee and are the "Koonjee" or Key to Gurbani) states this. This view of history is also presented in countless other non-Sikh literature. GurBani in Guroo Granth Sahib Jee does not contradict this account of history. If certain facts don't fit into our understanding of GurMat, we should not change history to make them more comfortable reading - we must continue instead on His Prema Bhagtee so that Guroo Jee gives us Sojhee of His Khel. BUMP - Upraala of this school is great to see. Please everyone attend the Foundation ceremony. West London is blessed to have Guru Nanak Sikh School in Hayes (1500 students from Nursery to A-levels), Khalsa Primary School in Slough, and this new primary school in Southall. It's also great to see that the new committee is engaging itself and allowing Panthic events to be held at the Gurdwara. On Saturday 25 April there is a programme from 7.30pm by AKJ UK at Park Avenue to remember the Shaheed Singhs of April 1978.

This is a tribute I received by email this morning:

Bhai Sahib Nirmal Singh Jee, lovingly known as The Colonel, passed away at Amritvelaa UK time today 13 March 2009 having bravely accepted the hukam to terminal cancer. He has left for Akaal Purakh Jee's Charan Kamal. He left this world peacefully with close family and friends surrounding him with Naam, Bani and Pyaar. Please use this thread to post tributes and to create a source of everlasting inspiration for us all for such an amazing soul.

Santhiaa classes - Giani Gurdev Singh Jee teaches Santhiaa at Clifton Road Gurdwara on Sundays, and students of Bhai Charanjeet Singh Jee currently teach Santhiaa at Singh Sabha Southall (Havelock Road) on Friday and Saturday evenings until Bhai Sahib Jee returns from India. Tabla classes - Chakardaar group (Bhai Harkirat Singh Jee) teaches at Clifton Road Gurdwara on Saturday afternoons. Waheguroo
