  1. Jus confirmed on the ITV news that it will be staged at another venue.
  2. It is important to know what is happening as in the past they have undertaken acts aginst the Sikh faith.
  3. Sikhs of Birmingham have got to start writing to the City Council and request that they put conditions on the funding the Rep receive. I think the Old Rep may also be subsidised by the City Council. Also go along to any surgeries held by your local Brummie councillors and MPs at voice your disgust at how the Rep are misusing money by putting on such plays that victimise minority faiths.
  4. Central News have just run a piece on the play cancellation. In the story they mentioned that the Birmingham Stage Company had said they would run a version of the play if the Rep pulled the plug on the the Preeto Batty play. The Brummie Stage company is based at the Old Rep in Brum. The arty brigade are crying their socks off at the so called censorship. Like to see them try and write such a play based at a Mosque.
  5. Thanks for the coverage. Any chance you can do some low quality clips of the Sky story etc (similar in size to low band bbc clip) Thanks.
  6. They always say no to Indian food but take them Samose and pakore and tot tot pende as if they never seen food before. Chinese girl on my team loved Samose.
  7. Dont worry I used to do it all the time at work. Beats paying £5.00 for the worst veggie food you have ever tasted which no doubt has been touched by joote hands etc. Used to take team a few samosas each every now and then to keep them happy.
  8. Sad that you want to miss out on Delhi. It has much more to offer besides the slums. Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Gurdwara Nanak Piao, Gurdwara Manju ka Tila, Gurdwara Moti Bagh, Gurdwara Damdama Sahib (nr Humayuns tomb), Gurdwara Bala Sahib and Gurdwara Mata Sundari. From my experience every Sikh visits Darbar Sahib regardless of where they land. However the people who land at Amritsar rarely venture out of Punjab let alone go as far as Delhi.
  9. Where is your country? Ermm somewhere in Europe Well you got a good choice of flights then  , KLM, Air France, Lufthansa, Delta (via Paris) , Alatalia (via Italy), BA, <admin-profanity filter activated>, Austrian...I am sure there are a few others you can add to that.
  10. Sounds like best option. Have flown via Zurich a few years ago and it was ok. Why you have to go via Abu Dhabi from Heathrow. Why not just get a BA or <admin-profanity filter activated> connection from Heathrow. If you can get a flight to France or Holland then KLM and Air France also offer direct flights form their respective home countries to India.
  11. Go back to work if they have have not sacked you but keep your Kara on. If they tell you to go home or say we are sacking you then ask them to put it in writing exactly why they are sacking you, then contact a solicitor and sort the silly idiots out.
  12. mann n dal khalsa shud work 2gether, unity is needed!! Yes maybe if Mr Mann and Dal Khalsa got together they may be able to at least get 3rd or 4 th position in a few assembly seats.
  13. Should have no problem if it is in your suitcase. I have bought over two large siri sahibs which just about fitted into my suitcase after removing the handles etc. No problems at Delhi or in the UK.
  14. If you want a fancy Kirpan for RS3,400 then get the Victorinox Kirpan. It has the best blade I have seen. The Victorinox Gallery, New Delhi D-5, Connaught Place ( Inner Circle ) New Delhi 110001 Tel.:011-55306000 Otherwise try the Taksal shops in Amritsar and get a Taksal kirpan.
  15. Yes, but never before has one jathedar threatend to declare the other jathedar a tankhaiya...that's the issue guys. Nothing wrong with that and it has been done in the past. Prof Manjit Singh, Jathedar Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Kewal Singh, Jathedar, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib were excommuncated by Giani Puran Singh when he was the Jathedar of the Akal Takht (March 2000).
  16. Takhts were not created to manage shrines. Hukumnama have been issued from other Takht in the past which suggests they do have these powers which they should be able to exercise..
  17. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2004/20041130/.../punjab1.htm#52 Baba, doctor booked for selling eyes Jangveer Singh Tribune News Service Patiala, November 29 The local police today registered a case against Baba Balbir Singh, who runs a Pingal Ashram on the outskirts of the city, on the charges of selling eyes of persons who died in his “ashram” in connivance with a doctor, who runs a private eye hospital in the city. The local police claims that the Baba and the private eye hospital owner, Dr Rajinder Sharma, have been running a racket of selling eyes of persons who died at the Baba’s ashram to needy persons at a price. Besides booking the Baba, the police has also booked Dr Rajinder Sharma who runs Sharma Eye Hospital behind the Government Rajindra Hospital, and one of his employees Mann Singh. Sources said while Mann Singh has been arrested, Dr Rajinder Sharma is absconding. The Baba is out of the city presently. The local police has raided the Pingal Ashram situated on the outskirts of the city near Sanaur. Baba Balbir Singh had tried to hog the limelight for the past four to five years by offering to take care of neglected mentally challenged persons. And for this he was recently listed among the top 20 citizens of Patiala along with the likes of the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, in a directory taken out by the Dedicated Brothers Group, a prominent NGO of the city. The Baba has taken up the custody of mentally challenged persons, who do not have home as well as those who are put under his care because their parents or relatives are u nable to take care of them. He usually has around 300 such persons under his care at the ashram which has taken shape over the years under a system where more than 50 vehicles collected money for the cause in villages in this district as well as elsewhere. The ashram was in the news in July this year when three inmates of the ashram died due to diarrhoea. During this period 20 other inmates had to be hospitalised and the District Health Department had intervened to provide medicines to the ashram, besides checking the condition of the inmates. It was then highlighted by The Tribune that the ashram did not have doctor or a nurse or even a dispensary on its premises despite the fact that it was dealing with the mentally challenged. The Baba had during an interview then claimed that he had kept 100 persons to collect donations from nearby villages and cities. Two years back, the ashram was in the news when it was reported that mentally challenged persons were being kept in iron chains there. The inmates were photogrpahed in a pitiable condition chained to trees and even grills of their rooms.
  18. So what they going to do with them when the b"£$%£ Tipton gates made by the brummies arrive in Amritsar ?
  19. Mr Mann talking rubbish again. Ask most Punjabi farmers why they employ Bihari labour and they will tell you that Punjabi labour demands high wages and on the whole they are lazy. You can get Biharis to work their socks off for a decent wage.
  20. No he is not the b$%$ that wants the doors back. Rather it is the brummie jatha who have executed the whole door plan and got this underway well before Advanis visit to the Darbar Sahib. Advani is a Sindhi as such he is considered as castless by the extreme elements of RSS and BJP. Most Sindhi Hindus respect Guru Nanak Dev Ji. If you ever visit Pakistan you will see how devoted the Sindhi Hindus are to Baba Nanak.
  21. The SGPC are the biggest collective of illeterate bumkins the world has ever seen. Whislt the world over people preserve their heritage etc these dimwits go out the way to help destroy heritage. Badal is the biggest bumpkin around. A shame that the Akal Takht Jathedar has become a mute spectator who fails to lift a finger against Badal. Just a few months ago we had Badal breaking the Rath carrying Guru Sahib, to date the Akal Takht has to bring him to book for climbing on the Rath.
  22. Looks like my id has become corrupt so have to revert back to my original stopsingh id which was also corrupt a few months ago but appears to be working ok now. Firstly nice to see that freedom to express ones views still prevails and my post to which paaji Harmeet Singh replied has vanished. No I labeled Punjabi farners as being hateful, they resent the fact that Punjabis in Haryana are economically better off than them. I have seen this on my own travels in Punjab where Punjabis have a stereotyped view that we live in backward jungle areas. Well they can dream on with the grace of Waheguru, Sikh farmers in Haryana are doing very well (most without access to Himachal river waters). The Anandpur resolution demands back certain areas of Haryana but hey I for one am happy in Haryana. Cross the border into Punjab via Jakhal and you will see how neglected southern areas of Punjab bordering Haryana are. I do not want our areas to become an extension of this neglect. Yet again you harp on about depleting ground water which just further highlight the need for the possible solutions I have put like extending the canal water to cover the 60% of land without canal water access. You want canal water yet Punjabis themselves and their bumpkin politicans have reduced the areas that can be irrigated by canal water by converting canals into open drains (see the lovely drain (once a clean canal) that passes near Dhana Mandi, Pind Ghakal etc from Jullundhar. dont see anyone complaining about the loss of canal water here. Also if Punjab does not want to give Haryana river water they should keep their flood waters within Punjab instead of Punjab authorities deliberately makin g cuts in the Narwana branch of the Bhakra system and the SYL canal in their territory so that the flood waters from that state could be drained out to Haryana. On the one hand they say we will not let any water flow in the SYL yet are happy using it to flood Haryana. Here is some good news for you, some people share views echoed by me and oters about recharging the groundwater. Water harvesting systems in new houses planned Tribune News Service Gurdaspur, November 20 Water harvesting systems will be made compulsory in new houses being constructed in Punjab. The Department of Soil Conservation has decided to write to PUDA, municipal councils and corporations against approving maps of houses that do not have any provision for rain water harvesting. Mr Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperatives, gave this information while talking to The Tribune here today. He said the water level in Punjab was going down 30 to 100 cm every year. If the situation continued, there would be a severe shortage of drinking water in the state after 15 to 20 years. The department had drafted a proposal to make rain water harvesting systems compulsory in each new house built in the state. A Bill in the regard would be presented soon. Experts are of the opinion that rain water harvesting should be taken to recharge the depleting groundwater in the state. Mr Randhawa inaugurated a rain water harvesting system in the Dhar bloc of the district. Responding to a query, he said the department was taking measures to ensure proper DAP fertiliser supply in the state.
  23. Yes thats true about others challenging the moguls these included Raja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur. The Marathas led by Shiva Ji were a leading force against the moguls. They also came north to fight Ahmad Shah Abdali although they got routed in the famous third battle of Panipat in 1761 due the the stupidity/lack of battle awareness of Sadashivrao Bhau (Commander of Maratha forces).
  24. Shame the Americans could not have been so considerate earlier. This is all a political game. The US are scared of entering the shrine as the Shias across Iran could also unite with their Iraqi brothers. Also ask the 10,000+ innocent Iraqis who were killed through the indiscriminate air bombing campaign whether the Americans are aggressive. Also ask the families of the thousands of fleeing Iraqi conscripts who were killed by the Americans when they were trying to flee Kuwait. Ask the millions of people who are still suffering as a result of the use of agent orange in Vietnam, Laos etc.
  25. About time we went international with this. The judiciary in India has had long enough to sort this matter but obviously due to political affiliations cannot be bothered to serve justice to the victims. All these years, all we have had are pointless commissions who have done jack 5hit. It is a shame that the SGPC and Akali Dal only rake the issue up near election times as they like to use it as a ploy to win votes. After the elections the victims are once again forgotten for a another few years. Badal could have put considerable pressure to get justice for the victims when his Akali Dal were part of the NDA. But he was far too busy building his son up than worrying about the victims of 84.
