  1. generally, i take it that to become a shaheed, a means that is out of ones control is how it happens. i dont think that anyone can make themselves shaheed! thats taking matters of god and hukam into your own hands, and then using manmat to gain the status of shaheed. i.e. suicide. they may have escaped, or not died and had a causeful death elsewhere. it is not known for absolute certian that their duty to the world ended when they thort it ended. they could have had an extra seva written for them that, because of their own decisions to sucide themselves, cant come true.. but this is just my view. gurfateh jeeoz
  2. my brother, gurfateh we are told to jup naam WITH our hirda, through concentration. when we concentrate, then we can (or try to) vas guru in our hearts. we are not to concentrate on heart "chakra" or any thing.. we must concentrate on god. concentrating on god through our surti, will get us closer to him and vas god more in our own hirda. chakra concentrating is a waste of time. y? cus it is, 'of the body'. god never dies and is infinite in nature. we must use what ever tools we can to help get to god, be that breath, surti, jaap, raag, taal, seva, saangat, keertan, everything. its all a tool that we are permitted to use by guru, to get to god.this is how >vada sahib guru milaaya< happens. so through concentration, (obviously in our minds) we vas god into our hirda, and blam! we have sadha anand! so lets start our engines through the ongoing ardaas! dhan guru dhan guru!!! gurfateh
  3. if its cus of your simran, wot ur doing rong is trying to push somthing that cant, or doesnt want to be pushed. as per a previous post, let the simran take you where it wants to take you.dont push it.. you will get further if you relax your mind and muscles in your head and just let the simran do what it wants to.. breathing normally is also key.. dont force it. go with it.. if you dont understand what im saying, it may be because your pain is not simran related in which case see a doctor bout it. gurfateh
  4. Bored Of Nitnem gur fateh penj! (first time iv said that!!) try doin nitnem out loud and try and slow it ryt down. try and underatand it. unless you are paunchia hoiya, there is so much that there is to learn and understand. just from japjisahib alone.. they dont say that japji is the summation of guru maharaaj for nothing! it happens to the best of us that we get board. it just means that out mind is not where it should be.. this is the "nit-jang" that maharaaj speaks about. if we try to cnotrol our minds and set it to what we shuld set it to, then we are winning the war, and the game of god. :excl: and try and draw (yess! draw!!!) bani in you mind wen you are trying to do your simran. its way way fun and it keeps your mind to some level of ikaagarta. plus, ITS REEEELY FUN!!! its reely importent to think about bani as and wen your reading it, so that you dont fall asleep of the mind doesnt wander. even bazuragz hav this prob! its universal! its the whole reason why god rachaad maya. ask for the kirpa with a tru and a shubh mun with an ardaas to guru maha raaaj, then you wont be wasting time asking gareeb ppl like me hu aint got any kamaai! guru gives everything. if your doing summin rong, guru wil point it out to you. then wen u sort it out, oh mun haria hoa!!! gurfateh. penj! PEN G - penicillin G! jokes! my personal best is 26 minit 5 bania! but thats like years ago!
  5. please culd ppl only post if they actualy know what the inggeients is?? and post what im looking for? mayb it was a mistake to post this up on here... i would like to know the ingredients, thats it. and i dont think that it is the samt 'formulation' of the standars dhoof as it gets made into a totaly different substance! (morphologically speaking). gurfateh.
  6. I dont know if you should use their ways because theyll probably just throw some hash on the fire and claim that as puratan incense. Just buy some from a store and support a maker that does it for a living(no need to be so cheap just to save a dollar) its only dhoop if your a bahman! naa bro i just sa dhoo(n)f cus thats how all the sikhs say it... either way, its al the same. c ya
  7. The ingredients are the same, whether stick form or loose. Are you in the UK /Canada? If so, there are some Nihang Singhs that know how to make it. uk ok, ill see if i can find some thanks
  8. gurfateh ji, how on earth did u find this article??!! thanks alot for the reference. i dont understand most of the ingredience.. could you translate it? and there is one thing id like to say about this article, it says at the bottom, that >>"these should be mixed together with sugar and butter to make the escence sticks"<< i dont want the sticks... im looking for the thing that you use a spoon to put the granules ontop of the coal then the smoke comes out... here is the article for anyone else that wants it/ to see it.. page 88 gurfateh its not uploading.... help! heres the url though.... http://www.boss-uk.org/articles/pdf/TheSocietyofSaintsv3.pdf
  9. how do we go about finding out how to do a gianiship? is it a course? do we go india? random gurdwra? does taksaal do it? are the giani ship courses different according do different maryadas?? IS THERE 1 IN THE UK?? if so, where? how long does it take? what other questions may suround this topic? i.e. anything else i might need to know?? cheers gursangat jee!!
  10. hmm... just to clarify, there is the stick dhoof, and then there is the coal dhoof... and then there is the granules that is put on top of the coal. in doing this, smoke comes out. id like to know how they make the granules that they put ontop of the coal.. nothing (as far as i no) to do with the stick dhoof... incidently, it is actually a guarded secret of how they make it. i created this post just to see if any one else knows. because i realy need to know, as well as want to know. it may seem mundane however, its very importent to me to find out the basic ingredients and then the extra, special ingredients that go into the concuction. this concuction is the real deal. proper from puratan times.. which is just one of the reasons why i wana no.. much appreciated gursangat! fateh jeo
  11. not particularly!! but thanks very much for the info!!!!! lovved it!
  12. iv heard that about 30 or 40 ingredients go into the stuff that you put onto the coal in gurdwaras that make the smoke/ dhoof. what are they?? thanks
  13. nope. im so sorry, maaf karna i didnt contact them.. but thanx for contacting them.. what was the name ment to be tho?? thanx
  14. gurfateh dudes, i came accross this website http://www.info-sikh.com/PageG4.html where it says “Bestow thy blessings on me, O Lord, and protector of ‘Shah Gobind’” – Khaas Bir this site indicates that this Khaas Bir is of guru ji.. im not disuting this... just want to know more jeeozz so if anyone else can giv more information on this, it will be much ablyjed! thanks gurfateh
  15. There's apparently a formula for ink (shiahi kee bidh) in some handwritten birs (usually at the end). You don't need to bother with this, as you should probably use modern inks with modern papers. It would likely be difficult to get all the ingredients even if you were in Punjab. thanks dude... what are the ingrediants for the ink? ? ? ? its a nice idea to write a whole saroop, but im not at that stage yet. but i do wish to write gurbani. where could i get alkaline paper from aswell?????? inet?
  16. how do u make the ink that was used in the guru granth sahib? whats the recipe? and how do you make it?? i heard that its in the starting pages of the guru granth sahib.. gurfateh
  17. im looking for sakhia that go along with all of the shabads of gurbani done by giani thakur singh ji online... heard that it exists online... help? thanks.
  18. and! its from the extended chaupi sahib paat when you do the reheraas sahib in buddha dal gutka.
  19. gurfateh jeeo. i feel you think i want to argue with you... i want to ask you in the poliest of ways to please tone down your comments.. and i do not wish to post the tuk simply because we have (somhow) got into an arguement and i would feel that if somone else posts the shabad that will be better. if in a week no one has posted it, i will post it.. how does that fend with you?? dude?
  20. ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਪੂਜੈ ਅਉਧ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਉਣੁ ਰਾਖਈ ॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 1363} who will keep the dude that worships the fake people?( the jogis) gurfateh
  21. Oh I forgot that if we don't call each other bhenji bhaaji we can't 'qualify' as gursikhs...BTW, that will end up with "bhaji/bhenji will you marry me?" *i'm trying very hard not to use the eye rollie emoticon here* I'll believe it when i see it. why dont you do the research then??? dont rely on me, im jus som moorakh.. plus,im not tryna take jabs by saying anything about " if we don't call each other bhenji bhaaji we can't 'qualify' as gursikhs... " so its not appriciated, on my behalf, that it is being suggested that i am. because im not. i acknoledge that my peers are bro sis etc but i dont outwardly call them as such simply by choice. and this is what this whole thread is about! how are we supposed to call others bro sis then ask for marrage! (if we wana marry them). there has been wkd ideas/posts from the sangat... as always, lets carry on! as a side note, i feel that we should stick to the main topic as per the initial post. lets not deviate! gurfateh
  22. i dont think thats totally true. everyone that is trying to be a better gursikh they call each other penj or paaj. sant hav commended guru gobind singh ji on making the khalsa fauj one big family. so i think its wrong to say that we cannot call other's bro/sis. why then do the elderly (even if we dont know them) say 'puth'. it is not wrong. in guru gobind singh jis bani it says that everyone is your mum dad bro sis son daughter respectively as per age. ( suppose that this can also be seen as a rehet.) i think in conclusion, we are only supposed to treat others as per mum dad bro sis son daughter. would it then be correct to say > we are supposed to see others as mum dad bro sis son daughter<? i dont think so but what does sangat think? gurfateh
  23. Giani Thakur SIngh said if you matha tekh to a person that is Manmat. i guess then he didnt follow the hukam from guru ji wen guru says charan saad ke dhoe dhoe peeo,or saad ki dhoor karo ishnaan. after you see goodness in somone the further 'stages' after matha teking is to go totally crazy and wash their feet and drink the pani. this is aka deekhia aka charan amrit. even though dasmesh pita finalised amrit as khande bata da amrit, alot can stil be gained through charan amrit which is why our gurus eternalised this concept time and time again in guru granth sahib. look, in all escence giani thakur singh ji ment to not do pakhandi. because this is what guru ji says.because we dont get mukti through a kacha guru. kache gur te mukt na hooa. and near the end of sidh gorst it says sumin like whoever does pooja of an audhu (yogi) how will he ever get saved.. goes somthing like jis ki poojas >sumthing< audhu... and when you matha tek a sant (or a person as you say) your not matha teking them but the tat inside them. if one is dissolved in god like har harjan doe ik hai, then you will be matha teking akaal purakh himself. we must move away from pakhandis and go towards god. gurfateh
  24. its for the elderly that cannot sit on the floor. there are lots of these types of people. bham has 2 tables, one in each corner for the elderly. when they (bham) open the back langar hall, it is all table and chairs. this is because of the masses of sangat that come (mainly over the weekend in bham). one may argue that >why dont they just sit on the floor< the immediate answer is that the flow of seva is better when one doesent have to bend down too far. so sangat will be served more efficiently. (and in turn more sangat will be served, lets say, per hour). hope this answers your question jeeo. gurfateh
