  1. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Guys/Gals, Kalyug, satyug, treta, dwapar these yugs under the belief of hindu methodology have a certain time i.e so many thousands of years and so forth. This kind of thinking does not conincide with teachings from SGGS, you only need to read the Assa Di Vaar and it is explained well enough. If you can get the recent 25 cd collection of vihcaar on Assa Di Vaar by Pro Darsshan Singh Ji it will help you understand the Gurmat way. Thinking of the yugs like human beings i.e giving them time and so forth is all hindu methodology, bascially your telling people on that soon as it strucks midnight from satyug to kalyug or vice versa people on this earth are suddenly going to change, no way. Assa di Vaar teaches that raam and ravan were in the same yug, so were harnaksh and pralaad, therfore on all yugs there was good and bad. The need is for the human mind to evaluate what kind of yugs it goes through every day, for example when you 're doing nitnem in the morning you;re in satyug mode, when during the day someone cuts you up while you are driving , you suddenly stick up two fingers that's not satyug anymore it's treta mode. Gurbani teaches over and over about the mind and putting it in the right mode everyday. I would give quotes here from Gurbani but would urge people to get that CD set and listen to it will wake you up from hindu methodology.
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Come Khalsa 's no additon to thread, it's important!!have we run out of ideas?
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh I would also like to point out that our Guru Ji's ensured we had dhadi's singing vaars to reflect on history and great Sikh warriors (men and women) and also gave us kavishers to give the Khalsa a view of the challanges needed to be faced today for the Panth. In the western world I 've yet to see this example led by any Sikhs in English, we need dhadi vaars in English and Kavishars too, but how do we accomplish such a goal.I am sure Guru Ji will one day give us a brain wave as to somehow kick start this kind of project. How can you emulate the Vaars our panjabi Dhadi's perform which many of the youth don't understand. To the westerner Sikh they come across as rappers. I know someone in Canada did some sort of Gatka rap but that was big booobooo due to the lyrics used from gangster type 50 cent music. I go over and over with this in my brain , but we desparately need help here. I hope some one on this forum can come up with some kind of an idea if not today maybe in the coming future. I can only offer ardas to Guru Ji to help in getting the message across. Muslims have such excellent english speakers/translaters for the koran and they perform in mosques daily and on radio too. I have listened to them on Radio on some of the evenings and Khalsa Jeeo I can ensure you that we are way off by miles in comparison. We need to promote this somehow in such a manner and present excellent speakers who understand Gurbani , not with just stories from saakhees which do help but we need much much more depth and understanding. Sorry to ramble on, Panth needs waking up!! tyle='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>koeI jn hir isau dyvY jor
  4. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh! Sorry the enter button got hit in the last post. Very valid point rasied, this seems to be the crux of the problem and a great challange for us. We can't keep on blaming we need to take action and one way is for all the youth that do kirtan and can do kirtan is for them to learn what they are singing about to greatest of knowledge and then explain it in English after or before you do your shabad. We have people like Maskeen Ji, and Profeessor Darhshan Singh Ji, but the need is for them to be in English. One way is to learn shabads on which they have done vichaar and katha and then try and do the same in English.
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Yes the program was great and so was the lecture. But I was dismayed and sad to here it'll be the first and last  I know people will be against this but I personally think , the likes of the lecture and QA session should happen inside the Gurdwara on a particluar topic at every rahnsbahi at the beginning of the smagam for about 45 mins. My reasons for this are that it will further educate the upcoming youth in the western world. Why a rahnsbahi you may ask?, of course there will be massive attendance , and rahnsbahi's happen all over the country, youth which don't normally come to rahnsbahi's will catch these lectures it will educate them.I know this happens at camps but the mainstream youth are not caught. Please post thoughts.. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh I can't believe that the families haven't taken the Guru Ghars as they are free on the day. From my source all I know is that the ragi's and Guru Ji's Saroop will be coming out of local town , but sorry people don';t know where....if we don't find out then the only way is to turn up on the day and give these guys some ear bashing... Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  7. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh This needs to filed against the cops and aired on media, asap. If that is not done then we will have failed. There is a large sikh community in Toronto and some Sikh guys who have a presence in politics.Whether they are amritdhari or not we have to use them to make the wider audience known of these issues otherwise other singhs could be targets al over the country.
  8. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh My first and hopefully last post on this topic "Gur Ki karneee kaheee thavoooo" SGGS "Why question Guru Ji's actions?" Just skimmed through the this thread, time after time decade after decade we just revolve about the same wheel, same old issues, meat, raagmala, one wife or two....ivory tower discussions, which are useless. Why you may ask? Because some noble prize winner once said " In a debate there should always be progress, otherwise it's a waste of time"" waste of time this is what is happeing here , ask your selves are we progressing, the admins of this forum , tell me directly here have these points ever progressed the Khalsa since the day they have arisen...if the answer is "no" then I have a humble request to close this debate as such debates have been closed in the past on other forums as they are complete waste of time. Time could well be spent on how we are to deal with challanges facing the sikh youth and sikh community in the present day. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh
  9. many thanks contact has been made.
  10. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh. I know on this forum a while back there was a debate on a weddsing happennig at a hall instead of Gurdwara in Milton Keynes. I know Veer Harpartap Ji was involved big time but I don't remeber if there is a body or organisation of Singhs that go around stopping this kind of thing from happenning. The reason I post this question is that a friend of mine has advised of a wedding he has been invitied too which is happenning on the 3/10/04, it's at Menzies Prince Regent Hotel soemhwere in Chigwell essex UK. My friend advised the family it was wrong and so forth and from which Gurdwara is the baba Ji saroop being taken, they didn't say much. However he has found out recenlty that saroop is being taken from someone's house and not from a Gurdwara to the hotel for the wedding to take place. This has enraged me even more, I don't know what I can do to help and need to know is there any way this can be stopped as it's driving me mad. Is there an organisation which can help in this matter? Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh.
  11. Bijla Singh, what you say is about Bhai Mani Singh Ji was involved is exactly how it is writtedn in t Panth Parkash by Rattan Singh Bhangu. It mentions in there that Bhai Mani Singh knew he was going to be shaeed in this way becasue of what he did and he accepted it willingly. But the problem is why didn't the Sikhs at that time change it and banned it outright if this is true. There are a lot of wrong and right things in Panth Parkash, I have yet to read Bhai Randhir Singh Ji's works on it., will be soon. :e:
  12. don't forget Jeevan Deol also mentioned the word "ritualist" when describing how SGGS is kept in a Gurdwara. The guy seems to be a kala afgana type.
  13. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh... People are asking where are the bibbann with dastars on the program?, why is this and why is that, why the manmukh's displayed , where is ultimate or the near enough picture we all want to see. One Veer points out above the BBC must be disgusted with itself..I say we all are to blame , not the BBC or anyone. There is 500000 plus strong Sikh community in the UK, mostly economic strong but not sikhe strong and all we can get is the influence of one Sikhe programme every 4- 5 years on TV late at 11:30 P.M. I remember the 300th Anniverary programmes in 1999 were also at ridiculous times. In comparison to us the muslims are doing a fab job, there programmes are aired at the crunch 8:00 pm type of time and are quality. For the question of the real Gursikhs and Bibban with dastars where are they, the only answer is that you'll catch them at a smagam but nowhere else, sorry. This our sorry state of affairs , in the last 50 plus years the community has grown to over 500000 and we haven;t even produced at least 5 excellent speakers who would represent Sikhe on media such as T.V. This is true and I apologize if I have offended anyone and it does hurt, I am also in here to be blamed. Desparate situations require desparate measures, but the only measure we do are is to write on web forums and then forget it , including myself. Sure there are people who are doing panthic things and they rightly should be but it's all in small groups etc, no none group gets along with anot her, well I Haven't seen one yet, still looking so I can join them.......................
