Because the kirtanees are amazing. They have a special ability to bring together the sangat and everyone participates. More than anything else, they are GurSikhs, we have to respect GurSikhs. Nice posts everyone, but I was surprised that the list of kirtanees cut by the admins in my post. How is it so wrong to post the kirtanees names that it was cut from the post? I think that even if the kirtanees names are posted, it isn't as if people won't go to the ren sabahee because a certain kirtanee is or isn't coming. Just my 2 cents. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

There is a discussion about not writing the kirtanees name when info about a kirtan is given over at akj.org. I personally don't see anything wrong with this. If someone wants to know if a certain GurSikh is coming no harm in that. It's not against Sikhi. Sangat jee, what are you views on this? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Saas Graas specifically means to say Waheguru's name with every breath, (admin cut) you cannot give out techniques of naam simran like that.. only panj piyarai can do that) Many Singhs/Singhneaa can be heard doing this in AKJ kirtans if you listen closely. Japmans, The def of a Sikh is somone who has taken amrit, not anyone else. Keeping only your hair doesn't make one a Sikh. I have also seen her program, she is hindu. The problem with listening to her is that weak Sikhs, may start following her or even become less Sikh because of her. The few shows I have seen of hers she made fun of Sikhs. She may recite Gurbani, be she has made fun of Sikhs. She said something like, Sikhs have akhand paats but they themselves don't listen to the paat, this may or may not be true, but she has no right to say that because she is not a Sikh. I was there, and by his body language you could tell that he was taking a shot at us. I was playing tabla with him, and he looked over to me and said let me tell you what naam is... He went out of his way to say this right after we had done Simran in the kirtan before he came on to do his thing. Hanji, I agree. He took a cheap shot at the youth who had just done kirtan w/ Simran before he started speaking. I was enraged by the fact that he would put his personal views into his translations. We then did Anand Sahib w/Simran just to rub it in. He gave us a funny look as we did the Simran. These people hurt Sikhi rather than helping it. :umm: @ Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! This past weekend at our Gurdwara, a Sikh "Scholar", don't remember the name, came to do some shabad translations. The kids/teens had just finishing doing kirtan, and also some Simran. He begins to translate a shabad and there is a line about naam and naam japna in the shabad. He begins to translate, and then, looking in our direction, he says, let me tell you what naam is. When naam is mentioned it does not refer to a name, it is about a feeling. It doesn't mean to say a certain name physically, it just means that you remember him however you like, and he kept going on that one shouldn't be doing naam japna and so on. It disturbed me a great deal when he said this. We then did anand sahib, with Simran. Sangat jeeo, what are your feelings about this? This person was misleading the sangat. And he is was introduced as a "scholar". I am actually still upset by this. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

It is mentioned in Bhai Randhir Singh Ji's autobio that during his time, when there was going to be an amrit sanchar program, people would come to take amrit. Then the Panj Payarays would test each person to see if they were ready for Amrit. Telling them to do a certain number of paats, etc. And if they felt that person was ready then they received amrit, whereas now anyone can go any number of times and take Amrit. It is also known that the first time Shaheed Fauja Singh Ji went to receive amrit he was denied. The seond time he went he was denied. But he was determined to receive Khanda Batae De Paul, and wouldn't leave. So the Panj Payaraees told him to lay on the rail road tracks near the Gurdwara. He went, and also a Singh followed him without his knowledge. As the Singh watched from the bushes, Bhai Fauja Singh was lying on the tracks when all of a sudden a train appreared. Bhai Fauja Singh kept on the tracks without moving, at the last moment, the Singh that was watching him pulled him off. And Bhai Fauja Singh received Amrit. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

By reading your various posts it seems that you may be rss. Also why so much hatred towards AKJ, have you ever gone to an AKJ program? Listened to AKJ style kirtan?
