  5. Hindu Shiv Sena stages protest Tribune News Service Amritsar, May 13 Activists of various organisations, including the Hindu Shiv Sena and the Bajrang Dal, burnt the effigy of civil aviation minister Praful Patel to protest against the non-installation of a model of the Durgiana Temple at the Rajasansi International airport here today. Surinder Kumar Billa, president of the Sena, said despite repeated reminders to the airport authorities, the model, which was removed during the renovation of the terminal building, had not been installed. He demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident and action against the airport authorities. The model, he said, was lying in the godown of the airport, but the authorities had been denying this. On the other hand, the airport authorities have maintained that the model was removed during renovation and negotiations were on with the Durgiana Temple Trust to install a new model to resolve the issue. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20070514/punjab1.htm#19 and if anyone has gone to rajasansi airport is last month or so, they have removed Sri Harmandir Sahib's model from waiting lounge. this is very serious issue, shd be raised at all levels with sikh authorities and organisations.
  6. This is the Real Story, Mr. Jassa<br /><br />on may 13th:<br /><br />AISSF for ban on Dera Sacha Sauda<br />Tribune News Service<br /><br />Amritsar, May 13<br />The All -India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has urged the state government to immediately ban the activities of the Dera Sacha Sauda for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community all over the world. Taking a serious note of the advertisement which appeared in a section of the press today in which chief of the dera Sant Ram Rahim Singh has appeared in the dress of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, Manjit Singh Bhoma, president, AISSF, in a missive to Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has urged him to immediately ban the activities of the dera for denigrating the Sikh Guru.<br /><br />Bhoma said if the state government failed to ban the activities of the dera chief, the incident of 1978 would be repeated as the dera chief was interfering in the religious affairs of the Sikhs in connivance with the Congress.<br /><br />On May 14th:<br /><br />SGPC, dera men clash: 12 injured<br />Magisterial probe to focus on police role<br />Chander Parkash<br />Tribune News Service<br /><br />Bathinda, May 14<br />As many as 12 persons were injured, two of them seriously, when activists of the SGPC and various Sikh religious bodies clashed with activists of Dera Sacha Sauda near the deputy commissioner's office before noon here today.<br /><br />Rahul Bhandari, district magistrate, who along with SSP Naresh Arora reached the spot after getting the information and tried to bring the situation under control, said he had ordered a magisterial probe into the incident. He added that ADC (general) M.P. Arora had been asked to conduct the probe within four days with focus on the police role in today's incident.<br /><br />He added that as per his information the Punjab government had also ordered a probe into today's incident. The state government had asked inspector-general (IG), Punjab Police, Patiala zone, to conduct the probe.<br /><br />The sword and lathi-wielding activists of various Sikh organisations and Dera Sacha Sauda clashed on the Bathinda-Mansa main road when about 200 members of various Sikh religious organisations led by two members of the SGPC tried to burn the effigy of Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim, head, Dera Sacha Sauda, to lodge their protest against the action of the Baba. He had allegedly tried to copy the ceremonies once performed by Guru Gobind Singh at Salabatpura village of this district in the recent past.<br /><br />The dera activists, who were already present in large number near the deputy commissioner's office gave tough resistance to the activists of various Sikh organisations and succeeded in snatching the effigy of the baba from them. In the clash 12 persons, including a sewadar of the SGPC and five activists of the dera, were injured.<br /><br />The policemen present at the spot responded very late and resorted to a lathi charge. Following this the activists of the dera blocked traffic on the Bathinda-Mansa main road, demanding registration of criminal cases and subsequent arrest of those members of the Sikh organisations who were involved in the attack and who had tried to burn the effigy of the baba.<br /><br />Ram Singh, a senior functionary of Dera Sacha Sauda, while talking to media persons alleged that various Sikh organisations on the instigation of members of the SAD had decided yesterday to burn the effigy. On the other hand, the members of various Sikh organisations alleged that they were attacked with swords and lathis by the activists of the dera when they tried to hold a peaceful protest.<br /><br />Bhandari pointed out that on getting information he had sent the SDM and SP(D) to the spot.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Civil Hospital sources said only 10 had got injured, one of them seriously.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20070515/main1.htm" target="_blank">http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20070515/main1.htm</a><br /><br /><br />and as per ur ndtv heading if they were mighty nihangs then how can they let THIS happen? c the image<br /><img src="http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20070515/ind6.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> where is the mighty force of 96 crore nihangs? cant they save one of their fellow from lathis?
  7. protest shd also include: house arrest badal, or any other biggie, dont let govt offices open, dont let oficers come out of offices, like this. make govt suffer not public.
  8. <br /><br />Good idea but no need for sgpc they way corrupted to do anything for the panth anyway.<br /><br /><br /><br />veerji, SGPC as an institution is very high in status and is representative of sikhs, badkismati hai k jo isnu chala rahay han, majority is not bothered about Panth, specially on high posts. but still media and govt take sgpc seriously. we shd rather work towards purifying sgpc rather than discarding it. get sikhs to electoral process and elect good sikhs to sgpc. jay granthi maara hovay taan gurdwara nahi dha dita janda.
  9. <br /><br />You are assuming one thing here, that the hukamanas of the akal takhat have any credibilty left, I for one dont think so. Why should we listedn to what a political muppet has to say?<br /><br />Thats why im saying he the puppet need to be forced to issue a Hukamnama<br /><br /><br /><br />Sri Akal Takht Sahib hukamnama may not have any place in NRI sikhs hearts but a common sikh from punjab will follow it. NRI sikh youth got brainwashed by taksali missionaries who fled india in early 1980s. and this is last years ultimatum lol Dera Row Taksal chief firm on ultimatum Tribune News Service Mohali, June 17 Giving an ultimatum to the Punjab and Haryana governments, Baba Harnam Singh Bhindrawala, head of Damdami Taksal, today said he would court arrest on June 19 if the Dera Sacha Sauda chief was not arrested by tomorrow evening. Baba Harnam Singh was speaking to mediapersons at a dera in Balongi, near here, after attending a ceremony held to mark the martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Dev. He said he had given an ultimatum to the Punjab government on June 2 that the dera chief should be arrested by June 18. Members of the taksal along with head of other Sikh organisations will begin a march from Fatehgarh Sahib and court arrest at the secretariat in Chandigarh on June 19, said the taksal head. Ruing that the taksal was not even contacted by the government for talks over the Sacha Sauda issue, Baba Harnam Singh said the memorandum given to the Punjab governor too seemed to have been thrown into the wastepaper basket http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20070618/cth1.htm loosers

  11. Sikhs (possibly sgpc) shd make a media centre and have 2-3 spokesperson (hindi/english/punjabi, 1 in each language) and they shd participate in these TV shows from tht media centre via video-conferencing rather than going in studio. this way when other participants r debating other sikhs can help tht spokesman with data, facts and other points to be raised in the show.
  12. do send them emails, but sensible ones, with facts and josh (with hosh)
  13. tht saini guy sucked at english flow and had not much to say in defense against those so called scholars who were saying "mainstream sikhs" as if dera cult is PART of sikhism.
  14. present day nihangs >> posers >> bhangi >> darpok even last year when dera-sikh clash was on its max, no involvement of nihang jathas was in view, wht the hell they r here for? ladliyaan faujaan? bhang pee k tambu ch baithay rehna kam hunda faujaan da? govt gave them free travel in buses and trains to make matters worse, das nauhaan di kamai concept is gone in air. u raise some issue regarding DG, they will come out with swords but for panth they dont care.
  15. here r emails of shiv sena: shivsenabhavan@shivsena.org shivlaya@shivsena.org flood these fudgers.....
  16. kuteyaan da kam hai bhaunkna, let them. bal thakray nu koi ih v das deve k j 84 vich jay sikhaan di koi madad kiti c taan oh Sikh Guru Sahibaad de hindu upar keetay hoye ehsaan di niki jahi wapsi si, koi sikhaan upar ehsaan nai c.
  17. its not just to say that in India only punjabi/sikh farmers are being exploited, take the case of Maharashtra, vidharb, even in that area has high rate of farmer suicides, In 2006, 1,044 suicides were reported in Vidarbha alone - that's one suicide every eight hours. The current trend of Globalisation and open markets have wrecked the agriculture in India. Farmers from all over Idnia should be united for this cause, its fight of a common man, nothing to do with religion or region. Industrialists/captialists are getting richer and farmers r getting poorer. The profits our India Inc. is making are properly shared by India's population. Cheap stuff from other world markets is making it tough for local producers to compete. The prices of diesel were raised by Rs3 on intial price of Rs30, 10% increase. what about increasing MSP of wheat and RICE also. Input will increase because diesel is used to plough/harvest. due to industires coming to west bengal/behar/uttrakhand, this year, there has been very low in-flow of migrant labor. but still ik greeb majdoor di Dihari Rs 100 hi hai from decades. collection of taxes and distribution is funds is not even, schemes of govt from minorities and UPL people are not delivered to roots. we need strong and efficient NGOs for better functioning of such schemes. we need educated young sikhs to work for betterment of Punjab by coming ON GROUND, not by sitting on chairs and tapping keys.
  18. sikhs shdnt be destroying public property, or hurting innocent ppl, they shd formulate and organised and well planned and prolonged protest agianst derawad. acting like shiv-sainak bafoons wont help the cause. public/media awareness is must.
  19. zee news was making it look like if sikhs were the real trouble makers, their correspondent was saying " sardar lok udhar ko jaa rahay thay, paidal gariyo main, in sardar logon ko agar roka na gya to mumbia main haalaat bigar saktay hai, 1-2 lakh sikh hai mumbai main etc etc"
  20. zee news was making it look like if sikhs were the real trouble makers, their correspondent was saying " sardar lok udhar ko jaa rahay thay, paidal gariyo main, in sardar logon ko agar roka na gya to mumbia main haalaat bigar saktay hai, 1-2 lakh sikh hai mumbai main etc etc"
  21. it was a time when panth was in shock/anger and was following taksal because of Shaheed Bhai Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale being from Taksal. you can clearly see from post-84 pictures of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, tht building was partially destroyed, and Baba Santa Singh (have some shame, he is no more, was elder to you and mukhi of Budha dal) got it repaired (the damaged part). (pasricha is also using govt money at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, isnt he? like u claim from Baba Santa Singh's Kar Seva) here is a news piece " The structure and design of Akal Takht were changed without taking the Sikh Panth into confidence while carrying out ‘kar seva’ by Damdami Taksal after Operation Bluestar. The Taksal owes an explanation to the Sikhs as to why the old structure was not kept intact." taksal changed the design of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on their own. both pictures or old and new design can be seen. http://www.punjabheritage.org/architectura...kht-design.html
  22. so whatever maryada was being followed in 1800s was PANTHIC MARYADA, very well said !! bravo !! and have u asked professor darshan singh, if he has read DG or not? making assumptions? <br /><br />What you claim is an assumption...The edict didnt state that one can criticise Sri Dasam Granth...However what the latest edict <b>clearly state</b> was that Sri Dasam Granth is an inseparable part of Sikhism (<i><b>anikarvaan ang</b></i>)<br /><br />How can one criticise an <i>anikharvaan ang</i> and still claim not to defy this edict...<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Dasam Granth ahs been written by tenth master. It has special place among sikh hearts. This is borne by the facts as below<br /><div align="center">Note: The following is an excerpt from a book, <b><i>Sketch of the Sikhs, a singular nation in the province of Penjab</i></b>,<b><i> </i></b>written by Sir John Malcolm<b>*</b> in 1812. John Malcolm's work is one of the rarest firsthand information recorded by a western historian on the lifestyle, belief systems and traditions of the Sikhs in Punjab during the 18th century .</div><br /> <div align="center"> </div><br /> <div align="center"><b>Guru-mata</b></div><br /> When Gurmata or great national council, is called, (as it always is, or ought to be, when any imminent danger threatens the country, or any large expedition is to be undertaken) all the Sikh chiefs assemble at Amritsar. The assembly, which is called the Guru-mata, is convened by the Acalis; and when the chiefs meet upon this solemn occasion, it is concluded that all private animosities cease, and that every main sacrifices his personal feelings at the shrine of the general good; and, actuated by principles of pure patriotism, thinks of nothing but the interests of the religion, and commonwealth, to which he belongs. When the chiefs and principal leaders are seated, the <b>Adi-Granth and Dasama Padshah ka Granth are placed before them</b>. They all bend their heads before these scriptures, and exclaim, Wa! Guruji ka Khalsa! Wa! Guruji ki Fateh! A great quantity of cakes, made of wheat, butter, and sugar, are then placed before the volumes of their sacred writings, and covered with a cloth. These holy cakes, which are in commemoration of the injunction of Nanac, to eat and to give to others to eat, next receive the salutation of the assembly, who then rise, and the Acalis pray aloud, while the musicians play. The Acalis, then the prayers are finished, desire the council to be seated. They sit down, and the cakes being uncovered, are eaten of by all classes of Sikhs: those distinctions of original tribes, which are, on occasions, kept up, being on this occasion laid aside, in token of their general and complete union in one cause. The Acalis then exclaim: "Sirdars! (Chiefs) this is Guru-mata!" on which prayers are again said aloud. The chiefs, after this sit closer, and say to each other: "The sacred Granth is betwixt us, let us swear by our scripture to forget all internal disputes, and to be united." This moment of religious fervor and ardent patriotism, is taken to reconcile all animosities. They then proceed to consider the danger with whcih they are threatened, to settle the best plans for averting it, and to choose the generals who are to lead their armies against the common enemy. The first Guru-mata was assembled by Guru Govinid; and the latest was called in 1805, when the British army pursued Holkar into the Penjab. <b><i>(pages. 120-123)</i></b> <b>________________________</b><br /><br /> <b>*Sir John Malcolm</b> (May 2, 1769 ‑ 1833) was a Scottish soldier, statesman, and historian. He was the author of several valuable works regarded as authorities, viz., <b><i>Sketch of the Sikhs, a singular nation in the province of Penjab </i>(1812)</b><i>, </i> <i>A History of Persia</i> (1815), <i>Memoir of Central India</i> (1823), <i>Political History of India from 1784 to 1823</i> (1826), and <i>Life of Lord Clive</i> (1836).<br /><br /> <br /><br /> Unquote<br /><br />Any literature by Gurus is equally holy.<br /><br />Is Darshan lal Bhatra listening to akal takhat? No he is not.He is propagating against Dasam Bani without reading it.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
  23. none of you praised him when he promoted dasam bani and hemkunt, so frustated from u guys he chose other side. u ppl r the same wht u call him, he promoted ur ideology and u betrayed him by not acknowleding his efforts, so he switched the side. tht simple. but its utmost besharmi of u ppl to remove Singh from his name like this. <br /><br />What if the 5 pyare (Guru Ji's Saroop) tell you something different during Amrit Sanchar? e.g. meat.....<br /><br />What role did the Akaal Takht play during Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time, by the way?<br /><br /><br />First - You follow your panj before anything else, but acknowledge that the Panth has made a decision on the issue, which ideally the Panj should have followed-<br /><br />Secondly - What role did Darbar Sahib play during Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time? I've yet to find reference pointing towards him even visiting Darbar Sahib - that doesn't make Darbar Sahib &quot;less holy&quot; does it?<br /><br />As for the role of Akal Takhat in our ithhas - we already know that Guru Hargobind Sahib made it with a sepcific intention. We already know that whenever there were any questions or queriees everyone turned - yes tor Akal Takhat, whether it was the issue of Bandai or Tat Khalsa, or whether Dasam Bani should be in one granth of several granths. It was always here that the Sikhs went for guidence. (practicly) all morchas in our history have started from here, whether it was against, Abdali, The British, Nehru, Indira Gandhi or against the Indian govn as a whole. It's Akal Takhat we've turned to. Not Patna Sahib, or any other takhat. It is to Akal Takhat kings like Ranjit Singh have had to submit. But nowadays polygamists (Iqbal Singh) seem to think that they're above the Akal Takhat and their decisions <img src="http://www.sikhsangat.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" " border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> <br /><br />Inder Singh - to you follow Akal Takhat? 24. veerji, please READ the Gurmatta and TRY, atleast try to understand it. It doesnt says, DG is "inseperable ang" of Sikh Panth, It says DG is "inseperable ang" of Sikh Panth's LITERATURE and HISTORY, Both Literature and history can be controversial. Literature part deals with those Baaniyaan which are accepted by Panth like ones used for Amrit Sanchar. So because Amrit baanis its part of Literature and History part deals with importance of these accepted baanis and other related incidents with DG, e.g. Sukha Singh - Mehtab Singh incident for example. The gurmatta clearly DO NOT forbid anyone to question rest of DG or discuss it. Inder Singh ji, dont be such Baby tht u dont understand what i mean by parallel, So called parkash of DG in same vicinty of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is forbidden by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, or we can say Any kind of its parkash is forbidden, its same as Suraj Parkash, Bhai Gurdas Ji diyaan vaaraan. Gurmata also clearly says "kisay hor granth da parkash Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji de barabar nahi kita ja sakda," now u ppl r very clever by making DG parkash an inch lower than Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, u claim its not barabar. the Brarabarta stated is not just physically but also ideologically, custom wise, respect wise. and Do they put a name plate in front of parkash, which is of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and which is of DG? so tht sangat can identify? <br /><br />What you claim is an assumption...The edict didnt state that one can criticise Sri Dasam Granth...However what the latest edict <b>clearly state</b> was that Sri Dasam Granth is an inseparable part of Sikhism (<i><b>anikarvaan ang</b></i>)<br /><br />How can one criticise an <i>anikharvaan ang</i> and still claim not to defy this edict...<br /><br /><br /><br />
  25. i know i know, SS doesnt allow anything AGAINST dg, but what is sikhsangat's stand on parallel parkash of DG and Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?? like u ppl hv made MASAND a negative/darogatory word, same way u ppl also use MISSIONARY as a insult. get some fresh air inside and come to senses boys.
