If you havent followed NUMBER ONE HUKKAM(take khandai di pahul) then your not following the message and are far from spreading it to others...its like not having a education but going and being a astro physics professor...

A sikh is a student right? a disciple of the guru...if you havent got your kesh you cant be a sikh because u have not followed your GURUS instructions, you havent learnt anything so how exactly are you a disciple? People just want to not cut there hair, party sharty, pyaar vyaar and then at the end of the day go to the gurdwara and say im a siikh because it makes them feel good inside and gives them comfort becasue they think theyll go to "heaven"

I think every Singh and Singhani should be ready, and be willing to take part in combat...Thats what makes you a warrior...some sikhs are becoming pacifists these days and it makes NO scense. they claim to be saint soldiers but totally leave the soldier part out. As for training, if you are going to do sewa for the panth in such a manner that you will need to learn combat then thats a whole diff story, but more in general i think you should just be willing and be ready to be get involved in combat because when the time for the sewa comes guru sahib will take it from you himself..theres a story a singh told me of a very old singh in 84 who did langar di sewa everday at a gurdwara. Everyday he would take a kurpa and perpare daal, sabji etc. In 84 when a mob came to riot the gurdwara the singh (WHO WAS REALLY OLD) went infront of the gurdwara gate with his kurpa and as soon as somone from the mob would come near him he would hit them in the head with his kurpa, and protected the gurdwara for a really long time, in the end he did attain shaheedi.

LOL i love the whole, akjs make funny noises.....Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Ji and Some other gurmukhs did abyaas in the mornings at a river that seperated a pind. people at the pind would think that ghosts were having a war at the river, thats the kind of noises that were herd...I dont think anyone has the right to say that bhai sahib did pakhand...Guru dai rang wich anything can happen......Listen to some of bhai sahib bhai jeevan singhs jis kirtan back in the day!!!!
  7. ive noticed on this forum as soon as the question of the authenticity of taksaaali maryada or infact any question of taksaal comes up, everyone just starts trying to hype of the jatha. i dont get it? i mean i am SURE that guru sahib did not give taksaal a different maryaada then the rest of the panth, and i for sure dont belive that the maryada hasnt changed..im not saying i like a certain jatha over another one, and i think that there have been GREAT mahapurkhs from taksaal but people take it easy over your jathe mann, no need to get defensive...And about sarbloh bebek...its for discipline thats it..if you ask me its impractical and iv seen many MANY peoples hearts break because people have refused to eat from them just because they arent bebeki or sarbloh bebeki or amrithdari. I mean if you want to be a TRUE bebeki then you wont eat from ANYONE unless you dont know there jeevani, right? i mean whats the point of eating from a amritdhari thats mind isnt pure and hasnt made your food out of love? Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Ji was Bebeki, Bhai Sahib Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji isnt, both AMAZING gursikhs...I dont think it matters, its for your self discipline. Bhull Chuk Maaf

  10. what about when u read gurbani, scinse ur just reading bilaval mahala 5 and then reading the bani are u going against hukkam because you havent sung it in raag??? All the mahapurkhs who did kirtan and not in raag are u saying all of them were doing manmat?? Veer jee why are you trying to mix the maryada of kirtan and paath? they are totally different and have different rules. For example a shlok or pauri in kirtan is a complete shabad. When doing paath or taking a hukamnama the all the shloks and then finally the pauri would complete the shabad. In kirtan you can give udharana from other shabads even though the complete shabad is not given (simply one or 2 lines) however when doing paath you cant give udharana. Kirtan starts with 4 baag also known as shabad chounki, paath does not. In Sri Raag Guru maharaj before the shabad makes it clear how to pronounce mehla pehla. Rather than having the pehla written as an ikha (1) the word phela is actually written out. The Reason for this was to show Sikhs how the numbers should be pronounced. Sometimes I think that guru maharaj knew there would be people like me trying to change maryada. In gurbani there are also examples where guru maharaj is telling us that these raags have not been put into gurbani for the fun of it, rather these raags must be sung accordin to maryada. Kar naad Bilawal Raag, har utam har prabh gavia. firstly i am not trying to mix the maryada i was simply trying to give a example to the person who posted that if u dont sing in raag u will not get the full emotion and blessing of the bani, and my question STILL is if i dont sing it in raag i wont get the full emotion etc. then how will i get the full emotion while reading bani? secondly i still pose the question to u what about mahapurkhs like Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji who didnt do kirtan in raag? Are u sayin they went against hukkam? Although i know alot of people who are Hardcore ONLY raag, say things like "oh thai avai cheeka mardai ai"..mind u i am not against raag in anyway...i myself do kirtaan in raag on occation and also play dilruba

TRUE TRUE TRUEE plain and simple if your not amritdhari your not sikh...theirs no sehajdhari sikhs...nothing..u rather follow guru sahibs hukkam or u don't, when i wasn't amritdhari i excepted it and others should too. If you remove ANY hair WHAT SO EVER you are not a sikh as u have commited a bujjar kureit, and too the bibi who said guru sahib would have updated his word because today climate/food/life gives bibia more facial hair and he never new that, all i have to say is i dont no what ur on, but u shud stop because ur basicly saying that guru sahib was not jaaani jaaan and he CLEARLY was he knew EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG sorry to post on this old thread but western observers and historians have noted that there were sehajdhari (known as khalaasa as opposed to khalsa) sikhs in the 18th and 19th centuries. they were people who were building their sharda and rehat with the ultimate goal of taking amrit and this included keshdhari and money (at different spiritual levels), in puraatan times alot of sehajdhari sikhs were looking after gurdwaras when the khalsa were fighting the moghuls and afghans. so to say that only amritdharis are sikhs is abit exclusive. also there was recent talk of changing the definition of sehajdhari but i think sgpc ignored the expert advice and stuck with the original definition They are sevadaars in my eeyes, thats all. They are not singhs of guru sahib yet...Ppl that say its ok if ur heart is in the right place and if u do good deeds, u dont need to take amrit:"rehat pyari mujko, sikh pyara nahi". they are on the right path, but cannot say anything on the behalf of a singh because the same rules dont apply...if a mona sehajdhari goes around sayin u can cut ur hair and still be a sikh, ppl are going to think that the real singhs believe that aswell....

CHANDIGARH (KP)-- In a recently released statement, well known Human Rights advocate, Navkiran Singh discloded that he had filed a petition in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana a year back, wherein Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara's solitary confinement was challenged. The grounds were that the Supreme Court of India had, through its full bench judgements, held that a person who is waiting to be executed cannot be kept in solitary confinement, as the jail administration has not been directed by the court to keep that person in solitary confinement, and since lodging an inmate in solitary confinement was a punishment under the law. Hawara has also challenged the actions by Burail Jail Chandigarh not allowing him to meet his close relatives and also not making available to him a religious minister, to which he was entitled under the Punjab Jail manual. The counsel submitted before the court that jail authorities are unnecessarily mentally torturing Hawara and are not even allowing him basic facilities to which he is entitled under the Law. Even his defense lawyers, under fear of false implication in some case, have not met Hawara for a long time in the fixed meeting place. They only meet him when he is produced in court and also right under the nose of the jail staff and intelligence officials, who overhear each word uttered by Hawara or his counsels instead of in private. Bhai Sahib Hawara has been kept in a small cell, from where he is taken out for one hour in the morning and in the evening and the rest of the time he cannot even see sunshine. Its also very alarming to note that Hawara has never been allowed to write or receive letters from his relatives or friends and even the letters of his counsels, which as per the Jail rules, cannot be read by anyone, are not handed over to him. Hawara’s Counsel has complained to the court of the sadistic attitude of the Jail authorities, however the decision on the case is now expected to be on 21st Nov 2009.

Certain jathas panj pyare physically plant naam within you which aids in japping naam. Back to the original topic, i believe that you may get peace of mind and get your karams in the right order by being a good christian, muslim, jew but to reach the supreme kal you have to jap naam and TAKE AMRIT, and to all the people that say all you have to do is be good on the inside: Rehat pyari mujko sikh pyara nahi.

  20. If you follow the gurus teaching u will surely become a sikh.. Because one of the biggest hukams from guru sahib is to take amrit, and do naam abyaas which will be easier once amrit is taken.

  22. It seems that many people are puzzled or speak hypocritically of this topic. Ive been stumbled on it for as long as i can think of. As Sikhs(amritdhari's) do we meet god through Sikhism, or can u meet akaal through Christianity, Islam, Hinduism? Some people say that different roads same destination, but if you read bani alot of the things that are told to be done that are a MUST for meeting akaal other relegions dont do Eg Amrit Vela. established human beings in their place. ਤੇ ਭੀ ਬਸਿ ਮਮਤਾ ਹੁਇ ਗਏ ॥ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਪਾਹਨ ਠਹਿਰਏ ॥੧੩॥ ते भी बसि ममता हुइ गए ॥ परमेसर पाहन ठहिरए ॥१३॥ They also were overpowered by `mineness` and exhibited the Lord in statues.13. ਤਬ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਏ ॥ तब हरि सिध साध ठहिराए ॥ तिन भी परम पुरखु नही पाए ॥ Then I created Siddhas and sadhs, who also could not realize the Lord. ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਗਿ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਨ ਅਪਨੋ ਪੰਥੁ ਚਲਾਨਾ ॥੧੪॥ जे कोई होत भयो जगि सिआना ॥ तिन तिन अपनो पंथु चलाना ॥१४॥ On whomsoever wisdom dawned, he started his own path. 14. ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨਹ ਪਾਯੋ ॥ ਬੈਰ ਬਾਦ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥ परम पुरख किनहूं नह पायो ॥ बैर बाद अहंकार बढायो ॥ None could realise the Supreme Lord, but instead spread strife, enmity and ego. ਪੇਡ ਪਾਤ ਆਪਨ ਤੇ ਜਲੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਪੰਥ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਚਲੈ ॥੧੫॥ पेड पात आपन ते जलै ॥ प्रभ कै पंथ न कोऊ चलै ॥१५॥ The tree and the leaves began to burn, because of the inner fire.None followed the path of the Lord.15. ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਤਨਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਕੋ ਪਾਯੋ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਰਾਹੁ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥ जिनि जिनि तनिक सिध को पायो ॥ तिनि तिनि अपना राहु चलायो ॥ Whosoever attained a little spiritual power, he started his own ptah. ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਾ ॥ ਮਮ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਤੇ ਭਯੋ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ॥੧੬॥ परमेसर न किनहूं पहिचाना ॥ मम उचारि ते भयो दिवाना ॥१६॥ None could comprehend the Lord, but instead became mad with `I-ness`.16. ਪਰਮ ਤੱਤ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥ ਆਪ ਆਪ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਉਰਝਾਨਾ ॥ परम त्त किनहूं न पछाना ॥ आप आप भीतरि उरझाना ॥ Nobody recognized the Supreme Essence, but was entangled within himself. ਤਬ ਜੇ ਜੇ ਰਿਖਿ ਰਾਜ ਬਨਾਏ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਆਪਨ ਪੁਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਚਲਾਏ ॥੧੭॥ तब जे जे रिखि राज बनाए ॥ तिन आपन पुन सिम्रित चलाए ॥१७॥ All the great those who became followers of these smritis, they abandoned the path of the Lord. ਜਿਨ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨਨ ਠਹਿਰਾਯੋ ॥ ਸੋ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਨ ਕੇ ਰਾਹ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੮॥ जिन मन हरि चरनन ठहिरायो ॥ सो सिम्रितन के राह न आयो ॥१८॥ Those who devoted themselves to the Feet of the Lord, they did not adopt the path of the Smritis.18. ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਚਾਰ ਹੀ ਬੇਦ ਬਨਾਏ ॥ ਸਰਬ ਲੋਕ ਤਿਹ ਕਰਮ ਚਲਾਏ ॥ ब्रहमा चार ही बेद बनाए ॥ सरब लोक तिह करम चलाए ॥ Brahma path of the Vedas and Katebs, they became the devotees of the Lord. ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਗੂੜ ਮਤਿ ਜੇ ਚਲਹੀ ॥ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਦੁਖਨ ਸੋ ਦਲਹੀ ॥੨੦॥ तिन के गूड़ मति जे चलही ॥ भाति अनेक दुखन सो दलही ॥२०॥ Whosoever follows their path, he crushes various types of sufferings.20. ਜੇ ਜੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਜਾਤਨ ਸੰਦੇਹਿ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਛੋਡਤ ਨੇਹ ॥ जे जे सहित जातन संदेहि ॥ प्रभ को संगि न छोडत नेह ॥ Those who consider the castes illusory, they do not abandon the love of the Lord. ਤੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰੀ ਕਹ ਜਾਹੀ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹੀਂ ॥੨੧॥ ते ते परम पुरी कह जाही ॥ तिन हरि सिउ अंतरु कछु नाहीं ॥२१॥ When they leave the world, they go to the abode of the Lord, and there is no difference between them and the Lord.21. ਜੇ ਜੇ ਜੀਯ ਜਾਤਨ ਤੇ ਡਰੈ ॥ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਤਜਿ ਤਿਨ ਮਗਿ ਪਰੈ ॥ जे जे जीय जातन ते डरै ॥ परम पुरख तजि तिन मगि परै ॥ Those who fear the castes and follow their path, abandoning the Supreme Lord. ਤੇ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਕੁੰਡ ਮੋ ਪਰਹੀ ॥ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਜਗ ਮੋ ਬਪੁ ਧਰਹੀ ॥੨੨॥ ते ते नरक कुंड मो परही ॥ बार बार जग मो बपु धरही ॥२२॥ They fall into hell and transmigrate again and again.22. ਤਬ ਹਰਿ ਬਹੁਰ ਦਤ ਉਪਜਾਇਓ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਚਲਾਇਓ ॥ तब हरि बहुर दत उपजाइओ ॥ तिन भी अपना पंथु चलाइओ ॥ Then I created Dutt, who also started his own path. ਕਰ ਮੋ ਨਖ ਸਿਰ ਜਟਾਂ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੩॥ कर मो नख सिर जटां सवारी ॥ प्रभ की क्रिआ कछु न बिचारी ॥२३॥ His followed have long nail in their hands and matted hair on their heads . They did not understand the ways of the Lord.23 ਪੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਰਖ ਕੌ ਉਪਰਾਜਾ ॥ ਸਿਖ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਨਹੂੰ ਬਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ पुनि हरि गोरख कौ उपराजा ॥ सिख करे तिनहूं बड राजा ॥ Then I ccreated Gorakh, who made great kings his disciples. ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਫਾਰਿ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਦੁਐ ਡਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੪॥ स्रवन फारि मुद्रा दुऐ डारी ॥ हरि की प्रीत रीति न बिचारी ॥२४॥ His disciples wear rings in their ears and do not know the love of the lord.24. ਪੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ ਕੋ ਕਰਾ ॥ ਭੇਸ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਕੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਰਾ ॥ पुनि हरि रामानंद को करा ॥ भेस बैरागी को जिनि धरा ॥ Then I created Ramanand, who adopted the path of Bairagi. ਕੰਠੀ ਕੰਠਿ ਕਾਠ ਕੀ ਡਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੫॥ कंठी कंठि काठ की डारी ॥ प्रभ की क्रिआ न कछू बिचारी ॥२५॥ Around his neck he wore necklace of wooden beads and did not comprehend the ways of the Lord.25. ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਏ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਰਾਹ ਚਲਾਏ ॥ जे प्रभु परम पुरख उपजाए ॥ तिन तिन अपने राह चलाए ॥ All the great Purushas created by me started their own paths. ਮਹਾਦੀਨ ਤਬ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਉਪਰਾਜਾ ॥ ਅਰਬ ਦੇਸ ਕੋ ਕੀਨੋ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੨੬॥ महादीन तब प्रभ उपराजा ॥ अरब देस को कीनो राजा ॥२६॥ Then I created Muhammed, who was made the master of Arabia.26. ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਏਕ ਪੰਥ ਉਪਰਾਜਾ ॥ ਲਿੰਗ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੀਨੇ ਸਭ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ तिन भी एक पंथ उपराजा ॥ लिंग बिना कीने सभ राजा ॥ He started a religion and circumcised all the kings. ਸਭ ਤੇ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਯੋ ॥ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਯੋ ॥੨੭॥ सभ ते अपना नामु जपायो ॥ सति नामु काहूं न द्रिड़ायो ॥२७॥ He caused all to utter his name and did not give True Name of the Lord with firmness to anyone.27. ਸਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਅਪਨੀ ਉਰਝਾਨਾ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥ सभ अपनी अपनी उरझाना ॥ पारब्रहम काहू न पछाना ॥ Everyone placed his own interest first and foremost and did not comprehend the Supreme Brahman. ਤਪ ਸਾਧਤ ਹਰਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥ ਇਮ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੨੮॥ तप साधत हरि मोहि बुलायो ॥ इम कहि कै इह लोक पठायो ॥२८॥ When I was busy in the austere devotion, the Lord called me and sent me to this world with the following words.28. ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਾਚ ॥ अकाल पुरख बाच ॥ The Word of the Non-Temporal Lord: ਚੌਪਈ ॥ चौपई ॥ CHAUPAI ਮੈ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੁਤ ਤੋਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰ ਕਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਸਾਜਾ ॥ मै अपना सुत तोहि निवाजा ॥ पंथ प्रचुर करबे कहु साजा ॥ I have adopted you as my son and hath created you for the propagation of the path (Panth). ਜਾਹਿ ਤਹਾਂ ਤੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਚਲਾਇ ॥ ਕਬੁਧਿ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਟਾਇ ॥੨੯॥ जाहि तहां तै धरमु चलाइ ॥ कबुधि करन ते लोक हटाइ ॥२९॥ You go therefore for the spread of Dharma (righteousness) and cause people to retrace their steps from evil actions".29. ਕਬਿਬਾਚ ॥ कबिबाच ॥ The World of the Poet: ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ दोहरा ॥ DOHRA ਠਾਢ ਭਯੋ ਮੈ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਰ ਬਚਨ ਕਹਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਆਇ ॥ ठाढ भयो मै जोरि कर बचन कहा सिर निआइ ॥ I stood up with folded hands and bowing down my head, I said: ਪੰਥ ਚਲੈ ਤਬ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੩੦॥ पंथ चलै तब जगत मै जब तुम करहु सहाइ ॥३०॥ The path (Panth) shall prevail only in the world, with THY ASSISTANCE."30. ਚੌਪਈ ॥ चौपई ॥ CHAUPI ਇਹ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥ ਤਬ ਮੈ ਜਗਤਿ ਜਨਮ ਧਰਿ ਆਯੋ ॥ इह कारनि प्रभ मोहि पठायो ॥ तब मै जगति जनम धरि आयो ॥ For this reason the Lord sent me and I was born in this world. ਜਿਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਹੀ ਇਨੈ ਤਿਮ ਕਹਿਹੋਂ ॥ ਅਉਰ ਕਿਸੂ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ਨ ਗਹਿਹੋਂ ॥੩੧॥ जिम तिन कही इनै तिम कहिहों ॥ अउर किसू ते बैर न गहिहों ॥३१॥ Whatever the Lord said, I am repeating the same unto you, I do not bear enmity with anyone.31.
