  4. 2003 and 2004 Bhai Harjinder Sri Nagar Wale came to UK and there are some live recordings of his divaans on ektaone. he does some raags in thereand he does demonstrate raag in his divaans. I think the percentage of raag keertan they do do compared to non-raags is low but i think its unfair to say they dont know or do not demonstrate this AT ALL. I do know this much, and that is that Bhai Harjinder Singh and Sant Anoop Singh's dedication and commitment to Gurbani Shabad Keertan has spread all over the world and a LOT of people have been influenced to come into Sikhi by their keertan divaans. My younger cousin came into Sikhi after being heavily influenced by Sri Nagar Wale. Had an obsession to collect every CD of his when he a kid and this kept him on the path of Sikhi until he was old enough to begin to realise the essence of Gurbani and he strated studying Gurmat. ... they must be doing SOMETHING right. Bhul chuk maaf
  5. Thats a bit wrong to me. Bhai Harjinder Singh Jee knows HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of raags and demonstrates this in his live keertan divaans as well as CD's. Also, Bhai Maninder Singh done a lot of raag too and im pretty sure ive heard Bhai Jasbir Singh Paonta Sahib Wale do some raag. So theres three keertani who are known to do raag and i am pretty sure ive got raag by Sant Anoop Singh too.

(i dont work for em by the way!) if u r able to, invest in a laptop coz u seem to be able to fork out a good amount for a decent laptop. helps a great deal more than a static chunky pc.
  8. Stockton Shootings; suspects surrender By SSNews, news10 May 17, 2006, 16:42 Stockton police have taken two men into custody in a restaurant shooting Sunday night that left six men wounded and hospitalized. Accompanied by their attorneys, Pardeep Singh, 35 (shown left) and Kulwant Gadri, 39 (on right) surrendered to police. The two are being booked into jail on attempted murder charges for allegedly firing into a group of men outside of the Sansar restaurant in north Stockton about 11:30 Sunday night. Police are still seeking a third man, Sukwinder Singh, 37 for questioning. He was involved in the earlier argument, according to police, and tried to fire a handgun. The men, were celebrating at Sansar restaurant following their win at a sporting event earlier in the day. Just after 11:30 p.m. a car drove up to the restaurant on Pacific Avenue in north Stockton and shots rang out, wounding six men in a group outside. The injured were taken to local hospitals. This morning, the conditions of two of the men were upgraded from critical and the other four are in stable condition. Stockton police investigators are trying to determine if the shooting is related to an earlier argument at the Arch Sports Complex where the group of men had played soccer. "There was some type of altercation, people asked to leave the premises, possibly they were involved in shooting later that night at the restaurant," said Lt. Tom Wells. Some said the fight at the sports complex involved Punjabis who had been drinking or taking drugs. The Sikh community, which condemned the violence was praised for pro-actively working with the police. "We tell people to stay away from drugs," said Amrik Dhaliwal, a leader at the Stockton Sikh Temple. "That's why this happened, in my opinion." Many local residents say they hope people heed this as a warning not to get mixed up with drugs.
  9. :HP: :a+ Happy Birthday bro and wicked seva you guys do for www.westernssa.com Looks wicked.
  10. get over it. have you got nothing else to worry about? i do understand your point but the concept of VaHeGuRu is quite deep and meaningful and there is relevance to its structure. "Vaheguroo" appears in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee a few times and, as we already know, its vital and crutial that GurBani is pronounced properly and as "shudh" as possible. We must not criticise others for wanting to learn how to pronounce GurBani. Instead we should be encouraging it and ask them to carry on asking questions. Damdami Taksaal would not let you get away with reading Vaheguroo as Waheguroo or Baheguroo and in English there is obviously a clear distinction between the the letters W, V and B. But yes, there is no "right" or "wrong" name for Guru Maharaj which i would agree on too. koeI bolY rwm rwm koeI Kudwie ] koee bolai raam raam koee khudhaae || Some repeat His Name: 'Raam'; and some call upon Him: 'Khudaa'. koeI syvY guseIAw koeI Alwih ]1] koee saevai guseeaa koee alaahi ||1|| Some refer to Him as 'Gusaeen', others as 'Allaah'. ||1||
  11. something like this...? http://www.ektaone.com/video_sarbansdhani.php
  12. There is no "W" in Gurmukhi. Its a "V" sound. But i think things have got kinda diluted down over time. Nowadays u get granthis even saying "Baheguru" in the ardaas.
  13. Judging from the news report, it doesnt seem she was shot because she refused to convert to Islam. Also doesnt mention the ethnicity of the woman. Find it weird how it was a masked gunman infront of a shop and they think its not an attempted armed robbery.

  22. If it wasn't for Maharaj, There'd be no you and me. The world wouldn't be here, No one would have a destiny. No stream would ever flow, And the sun wouldn't shine. The flowers wouldn't grow, There'd be nothing to find. Love, as we know it, Just might not exist, If not for Maharaj... So much would be missed.
  23. If Maharaj hadn't smiled on me, I could be living pitifully. I might be committing crime, Or locked up and doing time. I might be a beggar on the street, Shoved away by those I meet. Mine could be a dreamless life, I could be a lot I wouldn't like. I had parents who gave me love, When I was delivered from above. Many people have loved me, I count blessings I can see. I have friends that really care, In my heart is love to share. My life has been a good one, I'm not ashamed of what I done. God blesses me everyday, By the love he sends to me. He's put friends in my life, And I have a loving family.
