Bollywood Picking On A Sikh Theme, Again!
palamrinder replied to lakhvir's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Bhaman, I can provide you with thousands of links prooving the ugliness of caste system prevelant in hinduism. A single document from MANU blasts off ur philoshophy. But you seem to stress more on what shivaji was doing.... i'm sure even shivaji was ardent follower of caste system. Before you start researching and studying about sikhs and sikhism, please do a thorough research about the vedas, upnishads, manu smriti, what they say about castes. As for you asking others to read history, I asked you to name 33 crore deities, as i was unable to find them. I thought u being a SCARED BAHMAN would know. I have a strong feeling that you are here not to debate or learn, but just to create nuisance and trouble. So i would request everyone not to waste their energy on this chap. He will never agree to what we will say and same goes for us. So its better if you stay happy with your imaginations and leave us alone. Guruji has said " moorakh naal na uljhiye" May 33 crore deities bless you! -
Sikh Student's Kesh Cut Forcibly In Jaipur
palamrinder replied to fanaa's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
I hope the sikh guy didnt do this on purpose... remember sometime back in canada same thing happened, but later it was found the guy himself wanted to cut his hair, but his parents didnt allowed. So he staged his beating up and kesh being chopped off. It brought bad name to community fighting for him. I sincerely hope this guy is not doing same thing. Lets see which PANTHIC party comes to help sikhs now. -
Veerji, Guruji used "hum" mostly for referring HIMSELF rather than "mo". This may or maynot be true. So going by that, i presumed HE is not referring to HIMSELF. Baaki there are far more important and pertinent issues facing sikhs than this one. Its upto individual what he thinks of guruji, as long as they dont disrespect them.

Bollywood Picking On A Sikh Theme, Again!

Every Individual having their own path? Well that sounds great. No doubt there can be multiple paths to a destination, but they need to follow guidelines. Do you seriously think one can pick their own path? Again you are asking me same question as to how many sikhs follow caste system. Its not what a so called sikh or hindu does. Its what their religion specified them to do. As per MOST of the historians and other scholars, manu smirit has been the foundation of hindu laws guiding them and has been followed by Most hindus. Your claim, that hindu philoshophy does not support casteism needs to be backed up by a well documentd proof, just they way you pop out the dates when shivaji beat mughals or when did mughals defeted in assam. As for harping sikh beliefs. Do you consider sikhism as a seprate religion or a part of hinduism? I DONT consider it part of hinduism. Then why sikhs are married under HINDU MARRIAGE ACT and why ANAND MARRIAGE ACT has not been passed. why NCERT books keep coming up with distorted history books? Why sikhs around the country are joked about 12 o clock joke? A researcher! Kudos to you for your study. Its intresting to see you make your conclusions from hearing answers from a handful of ppl on a forum, whom you cant even confirm for being sikhs. If thats how you have been coming to your conclusions than i call quits for a debate with you. -

dear Palm -inder what is your point - there can be millions of paths and names - they all lead to the same goal why is that so hard to understand does it offend the monotheistic tendency of one path, book etc etc ? Dear Bhaman I think you have something against spelling the right names. Never mind. So u imply that all those 33 crore deities are in themselves different religions (paths) to reach god? Which one does and individual pick? maybe based on the routines and services one deem easy for himself. The part hard to understand is why God created such a large no. of deities? Also you described caste system being followed in punjab. Does everything happening in punjab is in consonance with sikhism? NO!. Sikhis never approved of caste system, whereas MANU SMRITI, composed by Great Manu in 1500 BC, clearly describes the 4 castes and their duties. It also describes these castes being originating from different parts of GOD! It clearly states if a BHRAMIN weds a SHUDRA, he goes to HELL. Please read and verify for me the attached document. Other things aside. This thread was started to discuss the negative impact of portraying sikhs in bollywood movies. So sticking to that, please enumerate the number of bollywood movies, praising sikhs/sikh ethics (without distortion) and ones making mockery about them. Even the so called superhit movies like "GADAR", misreresented sikh ethics. Is it hard to get hold of info about sikhism for these directors, or they willfully chose not to present the actual facts. As for hindus (read kshatriyas as only they can fight) making sacrifies on par with sikhs, please check historical facts about the number of times rulers of afghanistan plundered hindu temples and later on, number of people hanged by british for freedom fight. I have friends from every religion and respect their faith and beleifs and do same for others, as long as they dont start harping and distorting my religion. ManuGC.pdf -
What the...? Yo not familiar with this verse? Those who call me Parmehsur [supreme god] shall fall into the pit of Hell. yh thats the one... but didnt he soemthing about burning in fires of hell... thats wat it sed wen i read the translation. thanks for correcting me though I was trying to find the Bani, but only got the english version! and it goes something like this ' Jo Mujhe Parmeshwar ucchare, woh narak khund main parae'' I know i've said it worng so may Waheguru forgive! I heard the that it was " jo mo ko parmeshwar ucchare, wo narak khund main parae" which could also be translated as One who calls himself as GOD will go to hell. I heard it from Bhai Pinderpalji's katha. If anyone can provide the actual quote with refrences, it will be easier to know what guruji actually meant. Also if we only consider guruji to be bhramgyani than bani states, bhramgyani aap parmesar (sukhmani sahib). In most of banis it has been prooved time and again that who so ever immerses himself in the bani becomes one with AKAL. Werent guruji one with AKAL then? Its so naive and disrespectful to claim Guruji were ordinary humans born among us. May Waheguruji bless us all!

Dear sacred bhaman. Can you provide me with the names(spelling errors doesnt matter) of 33 crore devi devte to start finding TRUTH about them? And then if you got some time, please enlighten us about the significance of dividing ppl in 4 different castes and treating lower castes worse than animals? Do you brahims loose their spirituality if even a shadow of shudra falls on them? As for mentioning shri ganesh without shri, being a non issue for you depicts your lack of respect for your deity. -

Hanji Veera. I get a lttle vex, but that's why Guru Ji said be a Sant first, then a Sipahi! Akho Satnam Waheguru How would you denounce Sikhism by defending your relgion land/home? If it's required you fight fire with fire just as Guru Ji did! Did he say just do path puja or did he do both? He took the Kirpan and used it to emancipate the Sikhs (and others) I was stressing on using cheap tactics, which are against sikh ethics. Guruji fought wars with armies and didnt go around killing all muslims.HE never showed hatred towards anyone except for tyranny. Khalsa should follow the same rule. But, we shall! We'll eliminate only those that are evil towards Sikhi and disort it and kill our kind! :e: :TH: -

hmm true, but when I was talking about adopting tactics, I was saying as in being ruthless with the legitimate military targets, proper training and military uniforms to combat the enemy troops effectively NOT adopting tactics that would harm innocent cilivians or go against the fundamentals of Sikhism. Sorry i misunderstood you. Yea you are right on that one. -
Use the MAgic Wand :TH:
-
i've used photoshop in past and still use it. So i know what exactly the guy did. Magic Wand is one of features you use to select an entity to crop out or apply other features to it.

I am saying that looking at picture it seems the angle form where picture is taken is to the right side of santji. so using a flash would have generated a shadow on right side. Though the shadow is visible for head and feet. there is no shadow behing shoulder. Looking closely it is evident some brushing and blurring have been done around shoulder area. Even the bed seems to have been cropped. it shows unlean croppping using magic wand in photoshop. Thanks Khalsa force for the real picture. I should make one of my pictures flying along superman. :e:
-
The flash is supposed to be on the right side. There is no shadow behind the left shoulder, whereas it is visible throughout the left side.

i mean obviously they can float in air, but them letting sum1 else take the pic?? i dun think so..... True. They will never allow someone to take such picture. I just downloaded the picture and zoomed in. It clearly shows the p icture being cropped and other photoshop actions applied to background aswell.
-
Smells of photoshop. Closely see on the bottom of right knee and feet. it looks like have been cropped from some other picture. Regardless of fact if santji can float in air.....

No offence killah veer, but i dont approve of using enemy tactics in a war which denounce sikhism. Do you think what bhai kanahiya did was wrong? do you approve of wiping put temples and hindus in punjab? if you attain such a piece of nation, it wont have sound foundation and will surely crumble. Build a nation based on sikhs ethics. it might take longer, but will last longer as well. Khalsa never replicated the muslim tyrants. They stuck to their values even if that meant giving up their lives. But in the end they came victorious. Similarly time will come when we are strong in our sikhi. -
Admin ji i agree with you but we should aslo try to preserve our own language. Gurmukhi has been given to us by guru's. Why not make an effort to learn and use it over english or other lang. SS is visited by youth and they should be encouraged to learn and use gurmukhi. This will also help to get rid of our dependence on english translations of baani, which sometimes are not perfect. Just my 2 cents. Chinese and some europeans preserve their lang. vehemently. We should make a small effort too. Waheguruji ka khalsa Waheguruji Ki fateh

All Issues aside, do we think not providing grain to rest of india reflects great on sikhs character. Sikhs have been known to feed hungry and destitute. Even khalsa living in jungles and fighting enemy would invite them for food. To me it makes no sense to keep millions hungry for political gains. Sikhs will get their nation by following sikh ideals and not by playing political gimmicks. Also since this news is fom foreign media, it might be a trick by govt. to discredit the movement and show sikhs in bad light. -
