  10. Instead of debating about what was right and wrong ... I feel it's more important to be vigilant even more so now and think of constructive ways in dealing with future beadbee (future can interpret to tomorrow, next week or next month as it's clear that it's Ghor Kaljug and people are surely losing any fear for the Almighty) ... I have this unfortunate gut feeling that this matter with the Dudley committee isn't quite over and knowing how shameless they are, they could go back on their word ... I respect the Satkaar Campaign for what they've accomplished over the past few months, i.e. right from ensuring Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee were not found lying around in libraries as a mere 'book' in the West Midlands, and right to all the campaigns against alcohol/meat/etc at Gurdwara Sahibs and Gurdwara related institutions ... I've personally seen the response their Parchaar has had on the old, young and non-Amrith Dhaaree folk alike and it's been a real eye-opener and hope that Maharaaj blesses them with further Kirpa and support from all corners of the Panth. To be honest, a protest hardly ever ends 'peacefully' and I feel that whatever action the Singhs took was reasonable as sometimes you gotta play these so-called Committee's at their own game as that's the only way they'll understand ... It's like talking to a German in Panjabi ... they won't know what the hell you're on about unless you're speaking German ... At the end of the day, the Sangath protested with Naam/Baani in their souls and on their lips but when our Guru Sahibaans are being insulted then no Guru da Puth is going to stand for it ... We were intimidated by them partying clowns and spoken/treated harshly by the police and then to top it all off the clowns insult our Guru Sahibaans whilst getting high on meat/alcohol ... There's a limit and they crossed them all, end of! Now you can continue bickering about how the Sangath were wrong for doing this, that, the other or you can just learn from this experience, think of improved measures to combat such evils in the future and UNITE!!! Geez ...

  13. VaheGuru Jee! Thank you Mokham Veer Jee for these! I was actually looking for the Nanaksar Ardhaas and Aarthee as I heard a recording a few days ago and the Ardhaas was just so beautiful, so melodious ... That's Kirpa! Dhanvaad Jee!
  14. Thank you for the replies _singhni_ Jee and PAL 07 Jee ...Really inspirational about doing 30 Maala's (108 beads) a day for 40 days ... Proper Kirpa! VaheGuru! And it's an interesting point that PAL 07 Jee raised about doing a Chaleesa in anything that one desires be it through Keerthan or carrying out some form of Seva each day ... I guess hardcore Chaleeseh were probably carried out by Sanths/Behangams due to the high level of penance and discipline required so one needs lack of distractions from normal daily life ... But I reckon it's a great way to start or increase one's Rehath Maryada even if it's just a case of reading particular Baania each day, all helps in forming a routine and training the mind to focus more ... VaheGuru!

  17. The Mul Mul/Mal Mal Kapra is called F-74 and it's much more easier to tie than the full voile kind ... Though you can use fabric softener (like Lenor/Comfort etc) to loosen the full voile/rubia kind of Kapra and it usually ends up being more manageable. I have Dark/Navy Blue and Royal Akaali Blue colours in the Mal Mal Kapra ... The colour hasn't faded at all when hand washed with some warm/lukewarm water and abit of detergent and it's lasted about 2 years so far. Hope that helps.

  20. VaheGuru Jee Kaa Khalsa VaheGuru Jee Kee Fatheh! Thank you for the reply and information ... A GurSikh mentioned this to me but I didn't know what it meant ... When researching on Google I was directed towards Hindu sites and rituals so I'm guessing that the word 'Chaleesa/Chalisa' comes from the Hindi/Sanskrit Grammer ... So the term basically means 40 or to form a habit in forty days? Also, the GurSikh mentioned that sometimes during a Chaleesa one doesn't speak or engage in conversation during those 40 days ... Have you heard this before? I think there was an example referred to in a Katha where a Bibi was severely ill and was guided to carry out a Chaleesa of 5 Sri Sukhmani Sahib Jee de Paath everyday at Amrith Vela for 40 days and finish with an Ardhaas for accepting the Paath, asking forgiveness for wrong doings/mistakes and to be blessed with good health in order to carry out Panthic Seva ... Also, can one carry out a Chaleesa at any time of the day or does it have to be at Amrith Vela and can the Jaap be as long or short in form i.e. Long Jaap of Sri Sukhmani Sahib Jee and/or Short Jaap of Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Jee? Any further advice/information will be greatly appreciated! Sri Akaal Jee Sahae!
  21. VaheGuru Jee, I wanted to know whether the Sangath are aware of any history or background of doing a Chaleesa ... Like what is one required to do and not to do ... Any Sanths/MahaPurakhs that went through these and has anyone tried it themselves? Please post any related information or stories Saadh Sangath Jee ...
