  1. Bhaino/Bhaiyo...WHAT IS THIS? We were having such an intelligent discussion on the offense we felt over Lalleshvari's Bjork writing, but why are we getting wrapped up into this personal he said/she said business?? Please..we're better than that, we have better things to tackle to work on, and to look forward to. If this person's writings offend us, let's just stop visiting the site, avoid any pain in your heart pyareo..but let's not get wrapped up with people insulting him on personal grounds..Sikhs are higher than that..
  2. Waheguroo..I agree, perhaps here comments are not gurmat, but IT IS NOT Gurmat to attack others like this Veerji..why do we have to bring lalleshvari into everything?? if we keep doing that we've already lost the 'battle'...
  3. Amazing just like you ..I'm still a bit confused about one bit (the above quotation). I still don't quite grasp how Sarbloh is considered another name for Kali?? The Shastar Guroo?? Is there any relevance to the shabad (by Gurdev Pita Jee) below?? 'Kal Tuhee, Kali Tuhee' (especially) Also, could you translate this shabad for me, don't fully understand it.. Thanks Pyareo doihrw ] As ikRpwn KMfo KVg qupk qbr Aru qIr ] sY& srohI sYQI XhY hmwrY pIr ]3] qIr quhI sYQI quhI quhI qbr qrvwr ] nwm iqhwro jo jpY BXy isMD Bv pwr ]4] kwl quhI kwlI quhI quhI qyg Ar qIr ] quhI inswnI jIq kI Awj quhI jg bIr ]5] dhohiraa || as kripaan kha(n)ddo kharrag thupak thabar ar theer || sai sarohee saithhee yehai hamaarai peer ||3|| theer thuhee sait hhee thuhee thuhee thabar tharavaar || naam thihaaro jo japai bhayae si(n)dhh bhav paar ||4|| kaal thuhee kaalee thuhee thuhee thaeg ar theer || thuhee nisaanee jeeth kee aaj thuhee jag beer ||5||
  4. I agree..this post started off with intelligent debate..now it's just getting very 'silly'..
  5. uchaa, that means your image is too big dear brother, so in that case either make your image smaller or the best thing is get an account with www.Domaindlx.com, just register and upload your files there and each picture will be assigned it's own url, I'll walk you through it if you want through PM..
  6. Notice how the reporter uses the word 'who THEY SAY', as in this is just what the children/Sikhs are saying, no one is confirming if it's true or not.. Indian Government is just a sad institution
  7. ?? I'm not sure what compelled you to write this as per the posts before you It sounds like you have some sort of personal agenda against 'men', I'm a woman too and perhaps not all woman feel this way.. Scared to get good at making love??? I'm very confused, first why would one feel scared and second shouldn't we be thinking of other things we need to get good at?? 'Stop the woman at the end of this awful sex' What awful sex? and in whose eyes?? This sounds like lust to me..and lust is not something we should measure as enjoyable or not..lust is lust..and lust is something we should always try to diminish. So you're saying that woman fantasise about other men because their man doesn't give her what 'she needs'??? She feels lust because she has sexu-al expectations that were 'let down'??? All I can say is...buksh lo...you shouldn't be fantasising about men PERIOD because ALL (sikh or not) are brothers/father figures, the only man a woman should ever think about and have any sort of relationship with is of course her Husband. Being let down?? Again..there are more important things in life than sex-ual needs, expectations and wants...
  8. dear one, there is a option while posting called file attachments, hit the browse button and point it to the picture saved on your computer. If it is a picture from the internet click the IMG button and paste the link, or if you have a picture you can upload it to a domain and paste the link--I can guide you on that on PM. PM me if you have further quetsions
  9. it is sad..but how can you pierce such a beautiful gift (body)? Veerji, there are many Singhnees who don't pierce their ears..and many Singhs who admire this.. It's all 'kudrat'..I had my ears pierced when I was probably 5/6 years old, and for the past 4 years or so (since I came on to this path) I haven't wore earrings, but if you look close enough you can still see small marks on my ears For me, it's a reminder that I've already 'hurt' my body and not much I can do to change it...Plus, when you are blessed with amrit your Punj Pyarey instruct you to never pierce (anything).
  10. VAHEGUROO JEE KA KHALSA!! VAHEGUROO JEE KEE FATEH!! With the encouragement of (sikhiforlife) Singh veerji and khalsa007's daily hukam postings (called 'guru sahib aaj da hukamnama'), we're going to start discussing the Hukamana within his daily posts. Everyone explain/discuss one or two lines of the hukam. I think this will bring inspiration and endless blessings to us all please participate in these discussions...
  11. Okay..let's discuss this TODEE, FIFTH MEHL: In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. I am in peaceful poise and bliss, day and night; the seed of my destiny has sprouted. || Pause || I have met the True Guru, by great good fortune; He has no end or limitation. Taking His humble servant by the hand, He pulls him out of the poisonous world-ocean. || 1 || Birth and death are ended for me, by the Word of the Guru’s Teachings; I shall no longer pass through the door of pain and suffering. Nanak holds tight to the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master; again and again, he bows in humility and reverence to Him. || 2 || 9 || 28 || 'I contemplate the Name of the Lord (har, har) IN THE SAADH SANGAT'. Why does Guroo jee say IN the sadh sangat? Guroo jee could have wrote 'I contemplate on the Name of the Lord' and stopped there (Har Naam Chitaara), but Guroo Jee specifically mentions that in the Saadh Sangat I contemplate the naam. Perhaps that point alone can show the importance of Saadh Sangat and in that company you contemplate the name of the lord, that is why we are always encouraged to be in this company of the holy... Okay..who is next
  12. that is what he wrote on the website..basically they're taunting the people who have called him enemy of the khalsa..with enemy of the salsa..and using music/musicians as symbols..sigh.. they said for his punishment in bad taste of music..send him to an akj raensabhai what is happening to the world
  13. that is so disrespectful lakh lakh dorito khaiai lakh lakh ehu salsaa akhdai khadi khadi maya vasai kahi bjork sachaa salsaa kube nach jaiai //69// Thousands eat doritos, thousands call it salsa By eating and eating they remain in engrossed in illusion says Bjork: the real salsa is danced in Cuba!
  14. Adopting the Baal-Budhi (innocent mind of an infant), I have found Peace. Joy and sorrow, profit and loss, birth and death, pain and pleasure — they are all the same to my consciousness, since I met the Guru. As long as I plotted and planned things, I was full of frustration. When I met the Kind, Perfect Guru, then I obtained Bliss so easily. The more clever tricks I tried, the more bonds I was saddled with. When the True Guru placed His Hand upon my forehead, then I was liberated. As long as I claimed, "Mine, mine!", I was surrounded by wickedness and corruption. But when I dedicated my mind, body and intellect to my God, then I began to sleep in peace. As long as I walked along, carrying the load, I continued to pay the fine. But I threw away that bundle, when I met the Perfect Guru; O Nanak, then I became fearless (sggs 214).
  15. Waheguroo Network News also reports... http://news.waheguroo.com/633Q6-12661-7479...43Q3-73032.html French report wants religious symbols banned An excerpt from: Aljazeera.Net Thursday, 11th December 2003 A French education commission has recommended a ban on "conspicuous" religious signs in schools, including the Islamic veil and Sikh turban. The 20-member commission - headed by former government minister Bernard Stasi - gave its report to President Jacques Chirac after three months of consultations with religious leaders, teachers, politicians and sociologists. Chirac will now have to decide whether to follow the body's recommendations and propose a new law to limit what people can wear in state schools. Suggestions However, the report also suggested that Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, and Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim day marking the end of Ramadan, be celebrated in schools. It also encouraged the establishment of a national school for Islamic studies, as well as the provision of alternative meals in public canteens for observant Muslims and Jews. But "conspicuous" signs of religious observance - including headscarves worn today by several thousand schoolgirls in France, as well as Jewish kippas or Sikh turbans – are out, the report recommends. Only “discreet” signs should be permissible, including small medals and crosses on necklaces. French reaction A Sikh French MP, Simranjit Singh Mann, has voiced his concerns over a possible French l aw that would require them to cut their hair and remove their turbans. Mann, currently in Paris as part of his month-long European and American tour, said he would raise the issue with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and France's ambassador to India. Shiromani Akali Dal told journalists on Thursday he was appalled at French ignorance about the Sikh religion. "The French and the Sikhs have known each other for over three centuries now. Yet, now the French seem to be totally ignorant of the Sikh culture. I am surprised and appalled at this." [...]
  16. I agree veer, let's just add on to his daily hukamnama posts..hoping you,Niranjana Jee, MKhalsa, Kulpreet Singh can start the ball rolling for others Sikhsangat really is something special..may waheguroo always shower us with blessings..
  17. pyarey veerjio, I'm not uniting with anyone, and certainly not encouraging anyone to associate with 'nangs'..I'm just saying let's not fall into pits of fruitless discussions, waste of energy, when we can do vichaar, create inspiration and love for bani, for guroo jee, for each other... bhul chuk maaf pyareo!!
  18. I read a few topics as well..they have so much hate..slandering our Guroo Jee's and our Sikhi..such a waste of time these people are..let's continue on our path..
  19. Veerji..what do you mean they WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO?? You seem like a person who follows Guroo Jee's hukam right jeeio?? Then how can you say this.. veerji, it was hukam that they go to their own paths..Akal Purakh is the Lord of the Universe, wherever he directs his souls, they go there. Jesus was just that, a soul, and it was his destiny to spread their faith.. Let's respect the faiths of others, as Gurdev Pita Maharaj instructed in his hukams, plus veerji Akal Purakh resides OVER ALL... 'ghat ghat antar sudh hee jaagai' Deep within each and every heart, HE is awake and aware. This is really not something to waste energy on, let's focus positively on other things pyareo 'Khalastani' veerji, you have a lot of vidya to share..i'd love to hear that more than anything.. please forgive me if I have said something wrong
  20. VAAHEGUROO JEE KA KHALSA...VAAHEGUROO JEE KEE FATEH!! Veero/Bhaio, SikhSangat means the world to me, the amount of inspiration and understanding I have gained from your discussions/posts..I can't even describe, it's like sangat (that's far away I know) but always near at heart. The essence of SikhSangat.com (and any 'sangat') from my understanding it of course to bring people closer to the sweet lotus feet of Guroo Jee, and to be 'lifted from the fog'. I've been reading many posts of late, especially in relation to Sikhawareness and also on 'nangs', I do understand the need to discuss these issues. I really am happy that some critical points came out of these discussions, a Sikh must always be critical. I'm also glad, that factual evidence was brought up. I know we don't want people to believe that many of these blantantly anti-Gurmat views are part of our glorious Sikhi We should always fight our oppressors with courage, but I've been seeing some things that are just not needed. We should debate these 'nangs', I mean I know they'll give us answers that go in circles, but it's only half of hte battle if we post on the forum right?? Sadly, every time we post about such issues, we break out in arguments among ourselves..I don't like the shifting tide of the forum..it's becoming very hostile, and from the highly inspiring discussions we are subjecting ourselves to very low, fruitless discussions. Please don't get me wrong, I will always stand up against oppression this is our duty..but let's remember that we need the Sikhi inside of us FIRST, let's always make sure our mind is attuned to Guroo jee's feet and not filled with anything else pyareo...On the forum, let's continue with our fruitful discussions of Guroo jee's bani, of Gurmat, let's keep inspiring each other and helping with questions, sakhis, personal stories, and of course more and more bani... Let's deal with these issues in a proper way, with decency for us all, remember many people visit this site for inspiration, let's not turn ANYONE away from SANGAT! Please please please forgive me for speaking so much.. I know I'm not half of what you Gursikhs are, and I know my veerji wrote about this a few days back..I took many points from that..please let's focus on Bani, our Naam Kamayee, Amrit-Vela, bringing love and happiness to this world..the lord of the universe is on our side Gursikho..don't every worry!! Just a small idea that came into my head, why don't we start interpretations of Daily Hukamnamas (from Darbar Sahib), obviously the English translation is there, but let's have daily discussions about what Guroo Jee is instructing us to do.. :T: VAAHEGUROO JEE KA KHALSA...VAAHEGUROO JEE KEE FATEH!!
  21. WHY WHY WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS? I'M SO tired of these 'fruitless' discussions..veero/bhaino..can we concentrate on the essence of Sikhsangat..PLEASE!!
  22. I asked my dad about this..and he said it's basically the method! In India, we use live fires/flames, so of course bones are saved in addition to the ashes, in more modern countries they have machines which have so much heating power..the bones are crushed/melted as well..
