Sant Ramanand was target: Eyewitness Amarjit Thind Tribune News Service Ballan, June 4 Attack on Sant Niranjan Dass and Sant Ramanand in Vienna has taken a new turn with an eyewitness claiming the latter was the target of the attackers and not the former as was being projected by the media. While the attack on the duo in a Ravidass temple on May 24 had been reported as an attack on Dera head Sant Niranjan Das, but an aide and witness of the incident, today told media persons the accused had come to kill Sant Ramanand and not the former. Tarsem Lal, said Sant Niranjan Das was sitting ahead while Sant Ramanand was sitting five or six feet behind him when the assailants came and one of them started shooting Sant Ramanand first, he added. Lal had accompanied both the sants during their tour to Austria and came back today with the body of the Sant and a recuperating Sant Niranjan Dass. He said Sant Niranjan Das was hit in the melee that followed as the rushed to the aid of his deputy and got injured, he said. However, he was silent on the identity of the assailants and evaded other queries. Initially it was reported some Sikh fundamentalists had targeted dera head Niranjan Dass for allowing his followers to touch his feet in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. The Vienna police too had also reported the attack was premeditated and a conspiracy. What lends credence to fresh revelation is the fact Sant Ramanand had been named successor of Sant Niranjan Das but he was more dynamic of the duo and it was due to his efforts that the more than 36 deras had come up across Europe alone. He was largely credited with popularising the sect across the globe. Like Sant Niranjan Das, he was given "Chadavah? (religious offering) to the dera when he was a kid. Known as aggressive and assertive person, he was graduate and had introduced the concept of circulating CDs and DVDs to propagate the teachings of Sant Ravidass. I agree that there should be no reservation but we have to protect the innocent Sikhs from the cunning wolfs in disguise of Sikhs. Guru Maharaj needs Piyar and Sharda from his tyar bar tyar Sikh, he does not want brainy pretty young things. If there has to be No Reservation, it has to be in whole of India, not in just Sikh instituions. Let others lead by example, Sikhs will follow suit.

there is 33% reservation in each and every educational instituion in India. That 33% is reserved for no-brainers. Then there is reservation for Defense, Freedom fighters childeren, NRI'S, OBC, Tribals, Rural etc. People who have a brain get to compete in the remaining % that comes around to paltry 45%. sikhi is for sikhs. sikh institutions are for sikhs. if there can be reservations for scheduled castes in every walk of life, if the union govt of india wants to implement reservation for so called backward classes in private sector too, then why cannot sikhs have some seats reserved for sikhs in instituions built on sacrifices of sikhs. is that too much too ask for? what do people expect? who the hell cares what others think. guru gobind singh gave shaheedi of his entire family for the common man and how did that common man pay him back? by voting back to power the rajiv gandhi govt in 86 who did genocide on his people in 84? if you don't like to live the way guru nanak wanted you to live then you have no right to enter an institution built after him. go stop modi and fanatical raj thackrey first. it has become a fashion to mock sikhs and sikhi, even by sikh youth who have no idea about sikhi but are focused only on sex. go to hell.

if they choose to worship sggs like an idol or degrade sggs to the level of some fake illiterate baba..then i think you know what is done, right? does God appear in the form of donkey, or zebra or snakes? why only human form, whatever happened to equality! sigh ! I posted this in a previous topic but got no reply so posted this... the dalits in punjab are NOT SIKHS alone. There are hindu, muslim, christian etc. majority of Dalits are of no religion. They are found in a Gurdwara, Muslim Tomb or a temple or a church depending which one is serving free food for that day. Its a harsh reality of India. Dalits are hungry. Only a tiny tiny miniscule percentage are well off and that too because of reservation quotas. And not every Dalit benefits from quota system, the ones who got benefits a generation back have created considerable clout and make sure only their childeren get the benefits and not the needy Dalit. Its a case of fat getting more fatter. And the womenfolk of Dalits in Villages are mostly into prostituion their men unable to work becasue of taking too much nasha ! It is the Bihari bhaiyas who are backbone of agriculture and other industry in Punjab. It is quite common to find Bhaiyas having land on lease in many villages. Bhaiyas are the future of Punajb. Go to Golden temple and visit langar and there are so many Bhaiyas. And so many Bhaiyas are taking amrit these days. while we are moving to west the Bhaiyas are filling the void back home. It is the Bhaiya that needs research and debate not the long lost Dalit.

using ravidassi sikh is casteist and in my opinion racist as well. Khalsa knows no creed and there is only one sikh guru in present times, it is guru granth sahib. khatris don't go around yelling gobinda sikh, do they? if one is pure, japs naam, is honest, treats everything equal then there is no discrimination against that person anywhere in sikhs. but certain people who are short on merit but want bigger role play the caste card to get to top. thats how the ravidassi movement was built and is taking a new shape under fake babas. and why are u not following guru gobind singhs hukam by not referring to yourself as Khalsa? did guru gobind singh coined the term ravidassi sikh? even Bhagat Ravidass would have no idea about racists using his name to gain economic advantage over a more deserving person using the short cut of caste. are you amrit chakk by the way?

the first step to end casteism is to stop calling yourself chamar or ravidassi. Stop going to caste creed based ravidassi gurdwara and chakk amrit. Become a sikh. But is guess it would be very difficult to play the victim card again without your caste. And why are u not saying anything against the loss of rs 7000 crore to panjab done by casteist hooligans? why don,t you petition the indian govt and un to label casteism as racism? But then you will have to close your racist place of worship.
